Kripa and Angad walked into a restaurant located near the beautiful beach. They sat on the front porch of the restaurant to get a better view of the breath-taking ocean.
A: so...what do you want to eat?
K: i think its too early for lunch. lets just get some drinks or something..ummm...i'll have the strawberry-banana smoothie.
A: ok...waiter!!
A: kripa...
K:(looking at the menu) yea?
A: my dad saw us
K: what?
A: he saw us together at my house. now he thinks we're in love.
K:(sarcastically): oh my god angad! ab hum kya karenge?
A: come on kripa. be serious. if both our dads think that we...you know whats going to happen right?
K: dont worry Angad. my dad is going to london for TWO WEEKS. im sure he's going to forget about it after that. i mean when does he ever remember whats happening in my life.
A: i know but...
Waitress(interrupting them): can i take your order Sir?
Hearing her voice, Angad turns around to look at her. He knew the voice sounded familiar but from where? He looked at her and got up immediately. She looked at him and smiled.
W: oh my god!!!
A: Ananya? Ananya Sachdev? [ PLAYED BY ANANYA FROM ELAS]
W: hi angad!
Kripa got up and looked at them in surprise. " who is this ananya chick? ", she thought. Angad looked at Kripa and went and stood between Kripa and Ananya.
A: kripa...meet Ananya...this is Kripa, Kripa Sharma.
An: oh hey! angad its been so long
A: oh yea! what has it been...4 years?
An: almost.
K: 4 years?
A: ha kripa remember when i came back home for the summer 4 years ago?
K: yeah....
A: so i met Ananya then. woh mere Dad ke dost ki beti hai so we...wait a minute. Ananya..what are you doing here? i mean here as a waitress? you dont need to work
An: uh i...i moved out
A: what?
An: Dad wanted me to go to business school in new york but I....you know how I am. i always wanted to become an architect. so i left....and now i need to work to pay for college.
A: i really respect you for that Ananya. i wish i had the same courage to go against my family.
An: dont worry angad everything will work out.
K: it never does Ananya.
Ananya looked at her in surprise as Kripa interrupted their conversation. Angad looked at her too, almost as if he had forgotten that she was there.
An: but....
A: uh ananya..Kripa is one of us too...you know the whole business children clan
An: ohh...join the club Kripa. so anyway. what do you guys want?
K: we'll have 2 strawberry-banana smoothies.
An: oh good choice. but i also recommend the mango-banana..its really great!
K: thanks but...we'll stick to the original
An: ok sure
A: no wait..i think i'll try the mango-banana
An: good!
Ananya smiled again and left with the order. Angad watched her leave and Kripa looked at him. There was a smile on his face that Kripa didnt like. She felt a pang of jealousy when she saw how Angad and Ananya talked to each other and looked at each other. She snapped her fingers in front of Angad and he looked at her again. They stared at each other for a few seconds. Angad with a smile on his lips and Kripa with questions in her eyes.
A: what?
K: who is she? and how come you never told me about her?
A: she's ananya!! i just told you
K: yeah you told me today!! this happened 4 years ago!
A: what happened?
K: nothing forget it.
A: come on kripa. its nothing big. she's just a friend
K: just a friend? the way you were looking at her doesnt tell me that.
A: how was i looking at her? what is your problem? achanak tumhe ho kya gaya hai?
K:(realizing that she over reacted) kuch nahi im sorry.its just that...i dont like it when you hide things from me
A: ok im sorry. but i didnt want to...you know how it is for guys. she was my first crush and....
K: your what?
A: ok...i admit it. she was my first crush okay? but this was like 4 years ago and i was like what, 15? and....
K: whatever angad.
A: no really. it was a stupid infatuation ok?
K: wow i still cant beleive you never told me about your first crush!?!?!
A: ok im sorry. i promise that i will never do sometihng like that again. when i fall in love you'll be the first to know.
K: love and you? okay!
A: no really, I promise!
K(smiles): ok..i mean whats the big deal? its not like you never told me who your...your first kiss was?
A: uhm...
K: you lied to me about that too?
A: nahi mein to bas....
K: who was it?
A: aaiii...its...chodo na kripa
K: oh my god it was Ananya!!
A: umm...
K: it was wasnt it??
A: ok yea it was
K: i cant beleive this angad. so what now? dont tell me she was your first girlfriend too!!
A:(looked away awkwardly): ok i wont tell you
K: ahhhh??? ok thats it. im leaving. you have lied to me about everything
A: no no noooooo kripa...suno suno....im sorry ok? i know i should have told you then but i promise i never wanted to hide it. So we got together over the summer and then broke up in like 3 weeks. it was nothing. just stupid....whatever. we decided to stay friends after that but i never met her after that coz Dad and Mom moved to Canada. she called me sometimes and we talked online but thats it...nothing more.
K: i still can't beleive this angad. you have been hiding this from me since...4 years?
A: i said im sorry...what else do you want?
K: ok promise me that you will never ever lie to me again
A: i wasnt lying!! (kripa looks at him in anger again) ok I PROMISE...happy?
K: that is my worst nightmare angad. if i ever find out that you have lied to me about anything...anything!! i will never ever forgive you. do you understand that?
A: ok i wont do anything like that to you...you trust me right?
K: i have always trusted you
They smiled and looked into each other's eyes. Angad put his hand on hers to console her hyperness.
An: ahem ahem...
Angad let go of Kripa's hand and they looked at Ananya. She smiled as she looked at them and placed the drinks on the table
An: enjoy yourselves!
Saying this she left and Angad looked at Kripa.
A: i tihnk she misunderstood our relationship too...
K: who doesnt?
They chuckled and started to sip their drinks. When Angad took the first sip, his face turned sour.
K: kya hua?
A: ok this drink is not for humans!
K: why? is it that bad?
A: here taste it
Kripa took a sip out of it and almost spit it out.
A: exactly!!
K: oh my god maine to pehle hi kaha tha but you had to try something new. here lets share this drink now.
Angad put his straw in Kripa's drink and they started to drink from that one glass. Ananya quickly came to their table and interrupted them
An: i am soooo sorry you guys. i know the drink must taste awful right?
A: umm..iiitsss OKAY
An: no i know it sucks. instead of mango banana they made it pineapple banana. i am so sorry. i'll go get it changed
A: no thanks...i think this one drink is enough for us.
An:(smiled awkwardly): oh...i get it. enjoy!
Ananya left with that smile on her face. Angad looked at Kripa again and they laughed at the thought that Ananya thought of them as a couple.

Two weeks later...
Kripa sat in her room after she finished cleaning her room. This was the most boring day of her life and that was why she had decided to clean. When the door bell rang, she decided to go check who it was. When she opened the door it was Angad. The moment she saw him, she hugged him tightly. Angad was a little surprised to why she was acting to weird all of a sudden
A: uh kripa...
K: (letting go) oh sorry. woh aaj mein itni bore ho rahi thi...you have no idea. you, Angad Khanna, are my savior today!
They both laugh and Kripa invites him inside the house. They both sit on the couch drinking coffee.
K: so angad...how come you decided to drop by? tum bhi bored ho rahe the naa??
A: noo....ok i was. woh mein aaj ananya se milne jane wala tha to...she said she had to work again. i decided to come meet you
K: oh...tumhe usse kya kaam hai?
A: kuch nahi bas bohut din ho gaye na milkar to maine socha ke mil lu
K: acha? tumne mujhe bataya kyon nahi ke tum usse milne wale the
A: come on kripa its enough now. for the past week all i have been hearing is ananya this and ananya that. im sick and tired of this.
Angad got up and walked towards the door. He stopped in his tracks when he heard her voice
K: angad...angad look im really sorry. pata nahi mujhe...im sorry?
A: (looks at her): what wrong kripa? tum itna...why are you being so possessive all of a sudden?
K: im sorry. i didnt mean it that way. i just feel like we have been spending less time with each other. im...i dont know anymore.
Kripa sat down on the couch with her head in her hands. Angad came to her and sat right next to her and put his arm around her shoulder. She didnt move.
A: kripa....ok im sorry. i overreacted and...i promise that we will spend more time with each other ok?
K: ok.
A: ok now smile and lets go do something fun like...you want to go to the beach?
K: ok.
A: k good. ill wait in the car.
Angad was about to get up and leave but Kripa grabbed his wrist and he fell on her from the force.
A: kripa?
K: angad. tum bhi mujhe chod kar kahi chale nahi jaoge na?
A: ofcourse not.
Still on her, he kissed her forhead. Kripa smiled with a few tears and hugged him. Angad felt really sorry for her. For the past week she had been acting really sensitive and possessive about him. He hadnt said anything to her but today her insecurity was very evident. He continued to hug her and then was surprised when a felt a tear form at the corner of his eyes.
Suddenly, the doors to the Sharma House opened and two pairs of legs opened the room. Hearing the noise, Angad looked towards the door and suddenly got up realizing that he was still on Kripa.They got up and fixed themselves. Kripa looked away in embarrasment and Angad tried to look at his Dad.
(Surya Sharma = S)
(Dilip Khanna = D)
D: yeh sab kya hai Angad?
A: Dad aap jaisa soch rahe he waisa..
S: Forget it Dilip. They are in love. do you remember we were in love too...chodo yeh sab.
Angad and Kripa looked at each other in shock. What were they talking about. Love? Their respective fathers walked to them and stood by their son or daughter. Dilip patted his son on the back and Surya hugged his daughter. Kripa and Angad looked at each other again with shocked eyes.
D: Angad we, i mean Surya and me, have decided to get you guys engaged.
A-K: what?
S: yeah! i mean i know you guys are very young but we thought that since you are in love...you guys should atleast get engaged. and then we'll think about the wedding when you guys are more mature. am i right?
A: but uncle hum to....
K: Dad we are not...
D: come on guys you should be grateful that we agreed on this. angad that day when i saw you with Kripa, i immediately knew that you guys were in love. i mean the way you guys looked at each other...i was just...
Kripa looked away even more embarrased.
A: come on Dad. please stop it.
D: ok fine. but the engagement is final. Next tuesday at the Khanna Mansion.
S: yeh sab batein chodo. its time to celebrate!
Angad and Kripa looked at each other helplessly as they watched their fathers all happy. What had happened? At one moment they never cared about their children and on the other day they were so happy to see them getting married? They didnt know what to think. Kripa just sat on the couch giving up and Angad continued to look at his Dad with thousands of questions in his mind. Why were they doing this?

Back at the Khanna Mansion...
Dilip Khanna sat on his couch in the study holding a glass of wine in his hand. On the desk, laid a few files. He slowly rested his glass on the table and picked up a blue file labeled " CONFIDENTIAL". He opened it up and a smiled curved at his lips. His eyes raed the file as he took another sip from his glass. " I have done it!", he thought as he closed the file and put it back on the desk. He quickly turned around when he heard a knock on the door.
D: ahhh Angad. Come in son.
Angad walked into the study and stood in front of his father. Dilip poured some wine in the glass and offered it to his son.
A: Dad, i need to talk to you about something.
Dilip looked at his questioning eyes and put the second glass of wine on the side table.
D: yes ofcourse. i should have expected this before. tell me..what do you want?
Angad sat on the chair across from Dilip and took the glass of wine. He took his first sip and looked right into his father's eyes.
A: yeh kaunsa naya khel hai aapka Dad?
D: i dont know what you are talking about
A: oh come on. Aisa kya ho gaya jo aap achanak meri engagement ke liye raazi ho gaye?
D: i just wanted you to be happy.
A: oh please! This is not the first time. I have tens of marriage proposals for the past year and you always declined them because I was too young. You never approved of me having a girlfriend because you thought that it would distract me from "my goal" to become someone just like you. You even told me to stay away from Ananya because her father wanted us to get married one day. Why Dad?
D: its very simple Angad. unki business aur humari business bohut different hai. There was no point of you getting involved with Sachdev's daughter. She wouldnt do much for our business anyway.
A: do much? is that what it is Dad? just because Mr. Sachdev was in a different business I had to....so what is Kripa going to do for your business.
D: uhm well its...its not like that anymore. I just thought...
A: stop lying Dad. im sick of it.
Angad got up and put the wine on the table. He looked at his Dad in disgust and turned around to leave the room but his father's voice stopped him.
D: stop Angad. if you want to hear the truth, i will tell you
Angad turned around and looked at his father. He knew he had something down his sleeve.
D: i went to london to talk to Mr. Sharma...to threaten him, rather. I didnt want him to get the contract yet again. agar humari company iss baar yeh contract nahi leti to...we could have lost over a 100 crores.
A: what does this have to do with Kripa and me?
D: When I met him, he told me about the both of you and that you loved each other. I didnt know that Kripa was his daughter when you told me that day. He gave me an offer
A: an offer?
D: yes. he offered a merge between the two companies...a deal that would benefit us both. He wanted to make his business grow and I wanted to save it. So we....
A: so you decided to put my life on stake?
D: no i didnt. i would have never done it but when i found out that you were in love with kripa, i thought it would be a great idea...and it was.
A: it was! thanks Dad...thanks for everything!
Angad stormed out of the room, slamming the doors behind him. His father stood up in anger. Angad left the house to get some air and got into his car. He drove all the way to the beach and then parked his car. He sat on top of the car and drank from the beer bottle. He couldnt beleive that his Dad had played such a big game by using Angad's feelings for Kripa. He hated his father at this point in his life. " I HATE YOU!!!!!!", he screamed on top of his lungs as tears flew out of his eyes. He held his head with his hand and threw the beer bottle away in anger. " ANGAD?", he heard a voice behind him. He turned around to see.
A: ananya?
An: angad are you okay? tum aise..
A: i just hate my life ananya...i just hate it. i hate everything
She knew what he was going through. She made her way to him and sat down on the car next to him. Putting her arms around his shoulder, she rested her head on it.
An: you look at the sun Angad? I hate it. it reminds me of the darkness in my life.
Angad looked at her still in tears. She smiled and wiped his tears.
An: but I still know how to smile and you shouldnt forget either. whats wrong?
A: my dad
An: yeap...they are all the same. i wish i wasnt rich angad. atleast i wouldnt be this lonely.
A: youre right. i have been lonely for all my life. if i didnt have kripa i would just die
An: you really love her dont you?
A: i do...
An: good. congrats
A: oh no i mean...as a friend. i love her as a friend. she's always been there for me when i really needed a shoulder to cry on.
An: you never thought about more than friendship?
A: nooo...i never though of her like that. she was family to me
An: so youre still looking for THE ONE?
A: kinda..yes i am
An: ok...ummm can you do me a favor and drop me home?
A: yea sure. lets go
An: chalo
Angad got off the car and was about to leave when Ananya held his hand. Angad turned to look at her in surprise.
An: angad...dont you find it wierd how you never fell in love with her? i mean if i knew someone for that long....anyways, lets go. come on
Ananya got off the car and got into it. Angad looked at her and thought about what she said.
A: how come i never did??
