Hello all!!! Im so sorry about taking so long, but i got to kenya 3 days ago and the internet here is a disaster! Ive missEd you unbelievably!! Anyway heres chapter 9 for you all...leave an opinion :)
chapter 9: shameful secrets
It may sound cliched but virat felt his world crashing down around him. Had he become so repulsive that a monster like dilip seemed more appealing?, he felt disgusted with himself and his heart felt more like a burden than anything else. He lost his appetite and everything fell silent, he was certain that he could feel and hear the blood rushing through his head... He looked at manvi noticing that the image in front was blurred as silent tears ran down his face. He got up and left the room, which now felt like prison... It was a punishment to be there.
He could hear jeevika shouting in the distance as he sat on his bed rocking back and forth trying to be strong. He dug his nails into his arm deeper and deeper in attempt to take the pain away from his chest, but it seemed that his body was numb.
Virat tuned out of his thoughts and began listening to manvi and jeevika in the distance... Manvi was crying out loud and jeevika had given her an ultimatum... It was either 'jeevika or dilip', manvi was trying to reason with her sister, begging her to listen but jeevika refused.he could now hear the silent footsteps of the two sisters and distant sounds of doors closing.
Virats door flung wide open
'I Hope youre happy, you tore your own family apart, and now your tearing apart mine!!... I hope youre satisfied...' virat could not mistake the resentment in her voice neither was he in the mood to be judged.
He looked at manvi, his eyes wild and dangerous. He leaned in to her face making manvi flinch... They were both enraged yet their reasons totally different.
'donot judge me' he said in a husky voice loud enough for only manvi to hear.
This infuriated her more, her chest heaved and with equal hatred, she squinted at him 'i dont need to judge you, i already know you.'
'you know my name manvi, not my story'...' You need to quit the attitude, your hatred towards me... I dont get it, and i dont want to.
He turned his head away in disgust not wanting to look into the eyes that had so far bought nothing but pain for him.
Manvi indignantly placed her small hands on her waist, lifting her chin up slightly so that she could look him in the eyes. She hesitated not sure it was a good idea to look into the hazel eyes that had several times made her so weak she could not recognise herself.
"you think i dont know you?" she asked her voice emitting an anger that could only be expressed after years of being contained and her face holding a smile thAt was so sure of herself.
"you only know what you have been told manvi, remember there are 2 sides to every coin before you talk."
"i know that your a selfish spoilt brat who takes advantage of what he has, not knowing that there Are others who have much less but are more grateful than you have ever been and could ever be,
I know that you used viren, your own brother to get ahead in your career and disappeared as soon as you got what you wanted... your heart is black virat, you dont love your own blood you can never love anyone but yourself.
I know that you always expect people to be there for you and you would never do the same for anyone else because you care for yourself only.
She turned her face away in disgust.
"so you have me all figured out do you? He asked... His cold voice filled with anger and sarcasm... He held the door open for her "well done manvi, and by the way... Get out"
She noticed his disheveled hair and the cat like wild expression on his face.
Maanvi regretted her words the minute they left her mouth and virat regretted believing he could ever love again, even for a second. He wanted to shake her, tell her things he never wanted to admit to himself let alone his family. He watched her make her way out the door before slamming it hard and fast.
His back against the door and tears in his eyes, virat sat down on the marble floor.
"do you also know that i tried to kill myself manvi? More than once in fact and i was too ashamed of admitting it that i didnt tell anyone, not even my brother that it got so bad i checked myself into rehab for six months...did you know that even when i got out i tried to fill a sickening void in my heart with several girls who dont even come close to the way you made me feel when i first saw you?
Do you know manvi, that i could only face the world when i was drunk because it was the only way that thoughts of the person that i have become didnt disgust me to the point that i didnt want to know myself?
I would rather let my family think i ignored them than let them meet virat vadhera 'the rockstar' who has never been allowed to love anyone or anything and had it turn out good... I dont want to lose them by being too close to them" he whispered to himself
