Leaving you behind Part 6

Ever since the rain incident Arnav and Khushi both seemed to avoid each other, though they wanted to talk to each other and see each other they had this awkwardness between them that stopped them from doing so. However in college they had no choice but to talk as Arnav was helping Khushi catch up on her work, but even then all the talks were related to the work and nothing more.

Khushi was now getting fed up, it had been 2 weeks since that incident and Arnav was not talking to her at all, well other than in class. They had just become friends that day but she had to ruin it by bringing Arnav into the rain she thought.

Arnav on the other hand was confused, after seeing Khushi's dance and her tears at the end, he had millions of questions running through his mind but he just didn't know how to approach her, he couldn't just randomly go up to her and ask her why she was crying that night, there was enough awkwardness between them already.

Khushi and Anjali were of course very good friends, sisters almost. So every now and then they went round each other's houses. Anjali had noticed how Arnav and Khushi were avoiding each other but she couldn't understand why. Everything had been fine the other day when she and Nani were looking at them, then what happened after that she thought.

It was a weekend and Khushi sat in her bedroom doing some homework but just couldn't concentrate, she couldn't get Arnavs thoughts out of her mind and she just couldn't understand why.

Fed up of wasting time she just shut her books and went outside for some fresh air, she figured a nice little walk around the block would help, so she told her mum and went.

Arnav had gone out with his friends to the park which was close by, and was now returning, he had been lost the whole time, he didn't know why but he just wanted to see Khushi and talk to her, he was tired of avoiding her, he knew he couldn't ignore her for too long.

Khushi was walking whilst looking at the ground, she was absolutely lost in her own thoughts when she bumped into something, at first she thought it was a wall, but then that something was moving, so she figured it wasn't something but was rather someone which made her all nervous, she slowly looked up and saw the man of her thoughts in front of her.

Arnav was looking at him phone and walking at the same time, when he suddenly felt something petite bump into him, he looked down to see a petite girl looking down, and when she looked up, he felt this strange kind of joy to see her in front of him, the girl that he had been constantly thinking about all weekend' Khushi!

Arnav: I'm sorry, I wasn't looking. Are you okay?

Khushi: No it was my fault. I should have been paying attention to where I was going. I'm sorry.

Arnav: No it's not your fault, so I'm sorry!

Khushi: I am!

Arnav: I am!

They carried on arguing about who was at fault for at least another minute or so, when they suddenly realised where they were standing and how they were behaving. They looked around to see some people just standing there and giving them weird looks.

They both stared at each other for a few seconds, and then burst out laughing.

Khushi: Gosh! We are acting like such kids!

Arnav: I know! Haha

Then all of a sudden Khushi became quiet and looked down as realisation just struck, this was the first time in 2 weeks they had spoken about something other than work to each other. It felt strangely good to be talking to each other again.

Arnav noticed how Khushi had gone quiet and understood what was going through her mind.

Arnav: Umm Khushi' I know what you're thinking. And I know that the whole avoiding matter has neither helped you or me, so how about we start fresh and forget what ever happened 2 weeks ago.

Khushi looked at arnav with a surprised look.

Khushi (thought): How could you understand me so well Arnav? No one has ever understood me, but you Arnav are the first person who actually understands me. Devi Maiya is this some sign?

Arnav noticed how Khushi stood their quietly so nudged her a little to bring her out of her daze.

Arnav: Are you okay?

Khushi smiled at Arnav and nodded her head.

Khushi: I'm fine. It's just that I guess you're the first person who actually understood me.

Arnav looked at her with a confused expression, he didn't quite get what she meant by that.

Arnav: What do you mean?

Khushi realised she had just spoken her thoughts, and looked down nervously and started to walk away when she felt a strong grip hold her back.

Arnav couldn't just let her walk off like that again. He was so close to getting Khushi to open up to him.

Arnav: Khushi' why are you so nervous and uncomfortable around me?

Khushi quickly looked up and shook her head in a no.

Khushi: It's not you! It's me.

Arnav smirked at her dialogue which she unknowingly had just said.

Khushi couldn't help but blush seeing Arnav's mischievous expression.

Khushi: Arnav!! I don't mean it in that way!

Arnav let out a laugh seeing Khushi blush.

Arnav: Oh really!?

Khushi slapped Arnav's arm in a playful manner and smiled looking down.

Arnav: Ok now being serious! What is wrong Khushi, why won't you tell me?

Khushi looked down unsure of what to say, she didn't know how to tell Arnav about how she felt.

Khushi: Arnav' can we not talk about this please? Like you said let's just start fresh.

Arnav knew there was no point in asking her continuously, that might just make things worse.

Arnav: I understand Khushi' Okay so I'm Arnav Singh Raizada

Arnav brought his hand forward and looked at Khushi with a smile on his face.

Khushi (smiling): I'm Khushi Kumari Gupta' nice to meet you

She brought her hand forward and they both shook it, they felt they did this too often.

Khushi: We should really stop doing this.

Arnav: Haha you're right, it feels like deja vu!

They both laughed and walked back home, unknowingly still holding each other's hand, neither of them noticed and neither did they care, because it felt just right.

Okay so firstly sorry for the late update, have been very busy lately... So what do you guys think ? it's not dragging is it?😕 I really feel that if i go right into the story then it will end very quickly, so please let me know if you guys want me to keep this pace or speed it up ??
