"Khushi, Chotey is back from London. At least now change your chooriyan" Nani said happily, a twinkle in her eye.

That was the first time Arnav noticed she was wearing yellow and orange chooriyan with a purple suit. Khushi's face blushed prettily and her hands stilled on the ladle. She quickly poured the daal in nani's plate and went over to the next person.

Arnav.

Dhak dhak, Dhak dhak.

Arnav's heart beat erratically, watching Khushi's chooriyan trinkle while she poured him dinner.

Arnav and Khushi awkwardly stood in their room, none knowing what to say to the other, none knowing what to do. Khushi, not being able to handle the awkward silence any longer got her night clothes and went to go change in the washroom.

By the time she came out Arnav was sitting on the recliner deep in thought. Not really knowing what to do, she sat on the bed and started to braid her hair. When that menial task was complete she looked around the room, anywhere but Arnav and played with her braid. Sometime later her attention was diverted to her hand. And then a few seconds later to the man who was holding it. At some point Arnav had crouched down in front of her.

"How long have you been wearing these chooriyan, Khushi?" He played with the bangles that adorned her wrist. His light touch sent shivers down Khushi's spine and momentarily, made her forget how to speak.

"Khushi? How long?"

"S-since the day you left"

"If you don't get married to me, then I won't let Payal get married to Akash and you know, Akash will listen to me"

"No, you can't do this!

"You know that I can Khushi Kumari Gupta"

"Why?"

"What we did today made me an orphan again. We can't change what happened. But it's important for me to know why you did this.. Why Arnav ji? Why …WHY CANT YOU TELL ME WHY YOU DID ALL THIS? Answer my question! YOU CAN'T JUST STAY SILENT AFTER RUINING MY LIFE!"

"Why are you getting so angry? You got what you wanted: A rich man. Who, by getting married to him, can get you all you dreamed for. Am I right Khushi Kumari Gupta?"

"They reminded me of you" she looked into his eyes, feeling confident all of a sudden.

Arnav's breath caught in his throat. He swallowed once before continuing. "Khushi, we are going to be okay right?"

"Inside this room, you are nothing to me. You mean nothing to me. My place is inside and your place is outside. "

"Yes" she said abruptly "I'm not going to let you leave again. And we are going to sort everything out together. You're stuck with me whether you like it or not, do you understand?"

"6 months. I don't know how I am going to tolerate it. Ek hi kamre mein tumhari saath. Jaha tum saans logi vahin main bhi saans.. Disgusting."

"Khushi I'm sorry …"

"Don't apologize to me Arnav ji please!"

"But Khushi …"

"Do you love me?"

"Everyone is mad at me and only because of you! That is why I will do whatever I want to. If I want to cry, I'll cry. If I want to shout, I'll shout and you can't stop me. Are you happy now? Seeing what I'm going through? I used to live for these relationships, and now that they're breaking you must be elated/ Now that I'm an orphan again, your mind is at peace right? Seeing me in this condition, what have you gained? Huh?"

"Yes, I'm really happy! Seeing you in this much trouble. In fact this Is why I did all this, so that I can see you like this. Do you hear me? Do you want to know why? Do you want to know why I want to see you suffer? BECAUSE I HATE YOU"

"I hate you too. Much more than you hate me because you don't deserve when someone loves you Mr. Raizada I hate you because that's what you deserve. HATE."

"With all my heart."

"That's all I need Arnav Ji. Let's just go to sleep, we'll deal with everything else tomorrow." Khushi got into the comforter and lifted the covers so Arnav could join her. Once Arnav was in she leaned her back against his chest and he put his arms around her waist.

"Khushi this is where you belong. Not outside, not with anyone else but with me. In my arms."

"I know."

"We still have to talk about what happened."

"I know, just not now."

"I love you" His voice husky.

"I love you too." Her voice soft.

And they slept. Finally, both were able to breathe again.
