Hey everyone! Here is another chapter! Please bear with me because I have a horrible sense of humor. My writing can never do justice to Dean's amazing humor. Hope you enjoy though!
Chapter 4- The Unexpected
"Sammy! You have to try these! They are delicious! They are like these..."
"Dean. Is there anything else you find useful doing other than feeding on grilled cheese burgers?", Sam questioned his big brother.
"Nah! Of course not. I just spend half my time eating and yes...how can I forget...I hunt on monsters just to save the world! That's no biggy!", Dean answered, sarcasm dripping from every word he spoke.
"Dean. I didn't mean to hurt you. I just..."
"Please Sammy. No chick flick moments. So, what's the next case?", he asked as he hungrily dug his teeth into the burger.
Sam slumped back into his chair. "Getting Arnav back."
Dean spat the piece of meat out of his mouth. "What?! Not again Sam! What part of 'I don't want to talk about Arnav' do you not understand? Why are you so hell bent on bringing him back?"
"We need him."
"No we don't! Are we not strong enough to fight everything that comes our way? It's funny because you haven't mentioned him in a long time and now out of nowhere you want to have a lovey-dovey brotherly reunion?"
"He is Dad's son too. He has the right to know and help us! We could use a little help. It will make our work faster and easier."
"But that son of a b***h left!"
"I did too. You don't go around cursing me all time, do you? Then why do you hate him so much?"
Dean didn't know what to say. He didn't have an answer. Words refused to make their way out. His words faltered as he tried to give Sam a reasonable explanation. "I...I...because he..."
"Is not our real brother? Is that why you don't care? But Dean, Dad loves him like he loves us. I am sure this is what he'd want us to do right now. Please Dean. For once...just once...listen to me and let's do this. I am sure we won't regret."
"And what makes you think we won't? What makes you think that he will agree? What makes you think he still cares for Dad? What certainly makes you think that he will be ready to help us?"
"I know he will. I just do. Like I did, he will do too. I know this is what Dad would want us to do."
Dean let out an exasperated sigh and banged both his fists on the door of their motel room. "Damn!" He stood still for a few seconds as Sam shook his head, awaiting another refusal.
But to his surprise Dean nodded his head in approval. "Fine...fine. But only...only for Dad."
A huge grin hugged Sam's handsome face as those words left Dean's mouth. "Really'? I mean...so...it's a yes?"
"Did I just speak Hebrew?"
"Thanks Dean...thanks!"
Dean rolled his eyes as he put on his tanned leather jacket. "Let's go then."
Confusion coated Sam's eyes. "But...where?", he asked.
"What...you want to drive to Delhi?"
--------------------------------------------------
"Oh man...! I can't do this!"
"Huh? Can't do what? Dean, are you ok?" Sam looked at his brother. He had never seen such immense fear on his face before. His eyebrows were crinkled and a fresh stream of perspiration ran down the side of his forehead.
"Well...I...I kind of have this issue...issue with'"
"With what? Flying?" The corners of Sam's mouth lifted into a taunting smile and then when his insides couldn't hold it anymore, he burst into uncontrollable laughter. "You...you are kidding right?"
"No I am not...and why are you laughing? Why do you think I drive everywhere Sammy?! Let's switch to the first plan. Let's...let's drive to Delhi!"
"Are you kidding me? You want to reach there when you are 80 or something?"
"I don't mind. Besides, I will look handsome even then.", Dean patted his back in self praise.
"Fine then. You stay here. I will go alone and get him."
"No! No! I am not letting you go alone! What if that tycoon freak kills you with his iPhone or something?!"
"Dean. The iPhone is a normal phone...not a laser gun. Besides, Arnav has no motive to kill me. And just because he is among the rich businessmen in India, it doesn't make him an evil tycoon freak."
"But...", Dean raised his voice in protest.
"Just come along, will you?"
----------------------------------------------------
*Few minutes later'.*
"Just relax ok?"
"Oh yeah? How about you shut up?"
Dean could see Sam smirking from the corner of his eye. He was about to give him good when the plane gave a slight jerk. Dean sat paralyzed on his seat, his eyes ready to bulge out of his sockets and his face lost all its color as if someone had just squeezed all the blood out of his body and plucked his soul out. To say that he was petrified would be an understatement.
"Dean. Relax. Take deep breaths. It's just a little turbulence."
Just when Dean's body muscles had loosened and his breathing turned back to normal, there came another jolt due to the turbulence. He hit his fist on the front seat.
"C'mon! That can't be normal! Does this thing shake its booty all the time?!"
--------------------------------------------
*Few hours later'*
"Hmmm...mhhh...hmmm...dadaaada...hmmm'"
Sam stared at him for a while trying to figure out what was happening. "Are you...are you humming Metallica?"
"It calms my nerves! Ok? Now go to sleep!"
"Alright alright..."
-----------------------------------------
"Stay here for the night Lavanya. It's raining too heavily. It may be dangerous to drive in this weather."
"No Arnav. I must go home. I have to talk to some important people regarding the wedding arrangements."
"If I knew that a wedding would be such a hassle, I would have never proposed you.", Arnav smirked.
Lavanya turned around with her mouth wide open. Seeing him smirk augmented her annoyance and she playfully hit Arnav on the shoulder.
"Don't you ever say that again, Mister Arnav Singh Raizada.", Lavanya said through gritted teeth.
"Then stay with me tonight."
Lavanya sighed giving in. "Alright."
He tucked Lavanya to bed and slid himself next to her. He wrapped his arms around her protectively like she would run away if he wouldn't. Just when his body was about to surrender to sleep, he heard a loud crash downstairs. He instantly lifted himself off the bed and glanced at Lavanya. She was fast asleep.
Maybe Hari Prakash broke something, he thought. But what is he doing awake at this time of the night?
He made his way downstairs to the grand hall. Nothing. Nobody. There was not a shadow in sight. All he was greeted by was silence. Just a strange silence that enveloped the room. Something didn't feel right.
"Arnav?"
His back stiffened at the sound. For a minute, his body couldn't react. His reflex actions failed to work. His palms moistened due to the sweat and his throat went dry. He forced himself to turn around with great difficulty.
And then he saw what he would never want to see. Fear made its exit and new emotions engulfed him. Anger. Anguish. He tried to control the fury overtaking him and his fingers curled into his palms as he whispered, "Sam and Dean Winchester."
