CHAPTER 22: Revenge

"Time to play my favorite game." said the mighty ASR. Arnav was not going to let the snake off so easily. No way thought Arnav. Arnav was going to have fun with his prey first. The game of revenge would be sweet.

Shyam was at a dead end once again. He cursed at Arnav before taking out his knife. Showing Arnav the silver sharp edge Shyam said, "Make a move and I'll slit your throat. For now I'm leaving…but I'll be back you rascals."

Then to Khushi Shyam said, "Take care sweetheart, you won't have to wait any longer for me." Arnav and Khushi watched Shyam run out the door.

Khushi let out the breath she was holding. Looking at Arnav, she was surprised when all he did was hold her waist and walked Khushi to the special door. It was another banquet hall inside the restaurant. (Here in USA restaurants have more than one banquet hall in the same restaurant…so that's why I'm saying this J )

Khushi stared in awe as Arnav opened the door for Khushi, a tiny bit.

The whole family was present there.

"SURPRISE!" yelled Anjali.

"Happy Anniversary, Bhabz!" Akash laughed out.

"Bitya, come here and give me a hug!" cried Nani.

But the family stopped talking when they saw Khushi pull Arnav in and talk to him softly. Something important must have come up, so the family left them alone and the family talked and laughed amongst themselves in amusement.

Khushi looked around at Arnav.

"Why are they here?"

"Well, I thought that after you and I would celebrate our anniversary, the family should too. But then Shyam came in and ruined the plan. You go ahead and join them and just tell them I'm busy with work and I'll be there in awhile. Let me handle Shyam, okay? I don't want anyone coming out here, especially the Anjali. The family obviously doesn't know Shyam is here and we should keep it that way. Okay?"

Khushi nodded her head and turned around to walk away. But she felt a jolt up her arm as she felt a tug at her shoulder. She looked back to see Arnav pulling her back.

"Don't worry about me Khushi, I'll be fine. But make me one promise right now."

"Anything for you."

"Leave me some of the jalebi's!" Khushi's mouth dropped open.

"Hey Devi Maiyaa! What are you trying to say? Just because I like sweets doesn't mean I'll eat all of them! Calling me fat…laad governor…"

Arnav chuckled.

"Thanks Khushi…I…I just needed to hear you talk like that once. Love you."

"Love you, too. Oh Arnav, you better take care of yourself! I'd die if-"

"Don't say that Khushi! Don't say that! If I ever hear that word from your mouth again…"

Khushi was touched by his words and actions. Khushi decided to tell Arnav what her heart was saying right now. "Arnav, I don't know how I got someone like you. You think about everyone around you. With you around, I feel like heaven is on Earth. And what touches me is that even after I left you, even though you supposedly hated me, your heart still missed me and I loved that feeling that even though I was miles away from you, I still heard your heart only beating for me. You loved me even though I was a poor girl. You loved me even though I hurt your sister. You loved me with all your heart and I want to tell you now Arnav, this heart loves you just as much. This heart right here," Khushi pointed at her chest before continuing, "It loves you, and only you. You can't see this love Arnav, but you can just feel it. "

Khushi took Arnav's hands in her own and brought them to her chest. Arnav closed his eyes as he stood there, listening to the second half of his heart, listening to the heart that was beating for him, and listening to the reason of his existence.

Khushi's actions had always touched Arnav's heart deeply.

Khushi's pain had always brought him down to his knees.

But it was always Khushi's words that brought tears into his eyes.

Khushi watched Arnav walk out, his hands wiping water from his eyes. Khushi smiled softly, knowing he was crying. He looked back.

Payal watched as Khushi's smile became more prominent when Arnav looked back at Khushi once before exiting out the door.

Shyam Jha.

Arnav had found out where Shyam lived (Shyam has been released from jail recently because Shyam had "contacts") from his detective.

Arnav had observed Shyam throughout the whole ordeal. Arnav knew how Shyam looked like, how Shyam thought, how Shyam talked, what Shyam's weaknesses and strengths were, and now Arnav knew where Shyam lived. Arnav was going to use all this powerful information that he had to give the son of a gun the slap in the face he deserved.

Revenge would be a bitch to Shyam.
