PROLOGUE
Broken.
He welcomed the pain once again. Lifting his head to the skies he let out another cold maniacal laugh rumble from his throat as the dark red liquid oozed from his hands. Now on his knees, the shard of clear crystal glass was clutched tightly in his hands, splattered with his drops of blood.
Broken, he thought again. The glass was broken. Ironically just like his heart. His laugh now died down to a quiet sob that pierced even the gods as they watched on. Shutting his eyes to stop these thoughts, he let the sensation of anguish, regret and destroyed love take control as he dropped to the floor.
Her face.
Her face flashed in his mind once again as if to taunt him, while all he could do was be engulfed by the slow walls of hell enclosing him and engulfing him in their darkness. Broken'
But before he slipped into unconsciousness and gloom, he let out the six letter word that haunted his mind, his body, his soul and most importantly his heart. He whispered it into the night with all the breath he could gather:
"Khushi."
I'm broken by your love' and it's killing me to know I lost it all'

"Arnav'ARnav'ARNAV!" Khushi immediately sat up, her head and heart striking at the same tempo. She flung her shaking fingers through her messy hair trying to regain control of her breath that plummeted at breakneck speed. It was the same nightmare, she recalled, as she drew her knees to her chest. The nightmare in which she saw her dreams shatter before her own eyes, the one where she wasn't able to do anything about the crushed pieces that were left of her heart, the nightmare in which she had felt herself shatter.
"Why can't you leave me alone?" she whispered to the silent room.
"I've never done anything wrong to you'you hate me' then why the hell are you following me in my dreams?" she spat the words out this time, they were bitter in her mouth to say. She let the tears flow freely for this one time, but just as quickly as they came, they stopped.
"No Khushi, don't waste your tears on him. After all, he never wasted any on you." Consoling herself, she grabbed the sleeping pills on her dresser and popped them in her mouth. Khushi let slumber numb her pain, but not before his face flashed through her mind, taunting her wishes and stopping her from believing in the beauty of her dreams.
"Arnav."

"Have you made your mind?"
"Are all my conditions accepted?"
"Yes."
"Then the deal is sealed."
The two hands shook, one of them hard and rough and the other soft and slick.
"You start today. Here's the plan. Prepare and leave immediately' and I want both of them alive." He turned his back to the desk and she recognized the dismissal. I'm going to get you both, don't worry, he thought smirking. I'm going to get you both, one way or another.
