CHAPTER 10: Tying Loose Ends
Arnav stared at the detective. "You mean to tell me that Shyam has been loose for 3 months already?" he asked through clenched teeth.
"Y-yyes sir."
"And you did not find it important to tell me until now?" Arnav's voice was deadly calm and oddly soft.
"S-ssir he threatened m-mme and m-mmy family." The poor detective was shaking and shivering, slowly losing his sanity because of the powerful man in front of him.
"How do you know your family will be spared now?"
"Sir, please forgive me. I was h-held at g-gunpoint."
Arnav got up and walked to his desk. Taking out a revolver he brought it to the detective's forehead.
"Don't lie to me you b*****d. He didn't threaten you. He bribed you. And you motherf****r accepted. Just remember, no one crosses ASR and gets away with it. Have a nice trip now." And the trigger was pulled.
"Hello Aman… send the body to Shyam's doorstep. The police have tracked him after I filed the report against him so get the address from them." Arnav cut the phone and walked out, his polished black shoes taking confident steps and his gaze only looking straight, not even glancing back once.

Anjali got up, feeling refreshed after that long afternoon nap. Anjali then took the first step to making everything right. After all, life had to move on and Anjali was tired of living in the past. Khushi was at no fault in this whole matter and it was herself to blame for this sticky situation. After freshening herself she went downstairs to see Khushi singing and making lunch, her eyes light and happy.
"Khushi, why are you so happy? Does it have to do with a special someone?" Anjali used a playful tone and winked at Khushi.
" Actually it does…" said Khushi, her cheeks coloring slightly. She looked into Anjali's eyes and immediately understood what she saw. The all-too-familiar pain and longing to be accepted by someone. Winking back Khushi wittingly replied, "It has to do with YOU!"
"Awww… your too sweet Khushi! So will my special girlfriend give me some of her delicious food?"
"How can she refuse her special Di?" And unknowingly with those words, Khushi had mended the gap between the 2 girls.

Arnav entered the RM in a dark mood. But upon entering the kitchen, his severe headache and painful thoughts were thrown out the window when he saw his Di and his Khushi talking good-naturedly to each other. He walked up behind them and pulled them into a tight embrace. "You guys kill me, do you know that?"
"Don't you enjoy dying by us?" Khushi retorted. She and Anjali once again laughed and Arnav admired his beautiful wife as she threw back her long tresses of brown curls and laughed a melodious sound. 'I've got to figure out how to play that laugh on my violin', he thought to himself. But his train of thoughts was interrupted as a loud and obnoxious voice filled in the kitchen.
"Hello Hi Bye Bye! Arnav bitwa I'm back!" Mamiji came in with bags filling her arms. "Shopping with Lavanya is so much phuns (fun)!"
"Lavanya? Lavanya is here!?!" Khushi could not help but raise her voice. Her best friend was here and she hadn't known?
"Yes phati sari… Go meets her and take Arnav bitwa with you."
Khushi ran a few steps before turning around and dragged Arnav with her to Lavanya's bedroom. "Khushi, slow down before you fall!" yelled Arnav as he paused to smile at his crazy wife's antics.
"No, Arnavji, Lavanya is here! We have to meet her quick! It's been sooo long!"
Together, they entered Lavanya's room hand in hand. Lavanya saw them enter from the corners of her eyes.
"Chamkili!!!"
Lavanya quickly ran to Khushi and hugged her tight, but her eyes were focused somewhere else.
Pulling away she went to Arnav. "ASR! Long time no see!" Lavanya gave him a hug too, but Khushi felt an uneasy feeling in her stomach as she watched her husband's ex-fiance linger around her husband. However she forgot all these thoughts when she noticed that Arnav's eyes only trained on her.
"Good to see you too, La! I hope the flight was okay." Arnav gave a quick smile to Lavanya before he walked besides Khushi. He held her waist and said, "La, I want to introduce you officially, Mrs. Khushi Singh Raizada."
"Oh I know you're married!"
"Who told you?" Arnav immediately asked. His caramel eye's hardened.
"Oh...um uh, Nani mentioned it." Lavanya averted her gaze as she answered but quickly took a peek at ASR's face, noticing the suspiciousness in his eyes.
"…Khushi, I have some work to do… You catch up with La and we'll talk later." Arnav bent down and pecked Khushi's forehead and left her flustered. He walked out, looking back once to see Khushi's red face.
"You're so lucky, Chamkili! He loves you so much." Lavanya yelled as soon as Arnav closed the door.
"I know. " Lavanya saw the dreamy expression on Khushi's face. 'Time to intervene', she thought.
"But I heard you were separated for a year."Lavanya saw Khushi visibly stiffen before relaxing.
"Yeah…but he waited and that's what counts. Otherwise he could've married someone else that's sophisticated and rich. But he didn't. He waited for me." Lavanya rolled her eyes at Khushi, feeling frustrated that Khushi was not responding negatively. 'God, what is she made out of? I guess its plan B. Sorry Khushi.' Lavanya smirked.
She talked to Khushi about London and when Khushi left, she picked up her phone and dialed a number.
"Hi, Lavanya Kashyap here. Can I get a crate of Vodka?"
