Hi guys!

I'm back with another story. So here's the character intro...it's pretty similar to my earlier story...but still I'm posting if there are any new readers

My protagonists are Veer and Ananya. They are married.

Veer is working and Ananya is completing her MBA

Nivritti is Veer's mother.

Dharam and Veer are maternal cousins.

Sahil and Prashant are Veer's colleagues.

So this time I'm starting off with a prologue...well because I thought it would be cool to have one😆

Hope you'll like it and understand my inspiration behind this story...

Prologue

"So how did you like our home?"Ananya eagerly asked her MIL Nivritti as they sat at the counter in the kitchen after touring the entire house. "It's lovely. The care and effort you both have put in truly reflects." "Thank you, mom", said Ananya smiling at her remark. "And I must say you keep this place pretty clean. I won't believe you if you told me Veer lives here." "It's just that I live here too." she said shrugging her shoulders and added, "He's not that untidy actually, probably because I blackmail him to do his work." "I must congratulate you on that. I could never make him do that. Well I'm sure you have your own ways to threaten him which I couldn't have used." Nivritti said with a naughty glint. "Mom, it's nothing like that" Ananya whined while blushing. "I'll make you some tea." And Ananya turned in an attempt to hide the colour rising to her cheeks. It was getting worse because Nivrittti had been exactly right about her ways and she couldn't help think about how Veer would grumble when she blackmailed him by not letting him touch her or completely ignoring him. Well out of all those times, she distinctly remembered the time when she had gone to Pune and what had been its aftermath...

Well I have tentatively completed the story but a LOT of editing is yet to be done

So plz bear with any delays in updates

And this is kinda like a looong OS so I'm dividing it into parts but not based on the situation...just randomly...

PART I

It was Saturday. No office, no kids, no wife...only peace! Well that was what one would think but Veer had a different opinion to all the three. No office was good...coz he had been slogging extra-hours the past week and was damn tired...no kids was good coz he didn't have any...well not yet...and sudden appearance of some kids would be pretty shocking! As for his wife...which he did have...not having her with him was damn ...hmm...well he couldn't exactly describe it was damn what? Well maybe it would suffice to say that it was damn bad! He didn't think that he would be able to explain someone how lost and empty he was feeling just by his wife's absence. Well it may be Saturday...but for him it meant that his wife would be arriving tomorrow!

It was 7pm and he was lying on the couch...watching TV...no, he was sleeping...or whatever you would call the half-awake half-asleep state he had managed to wedge himself into.

The channel was showing an EPL match...the silver lining of his black cloud. He was watching the game and sleeping during the ad breaks...not exactly sleeping kinda napping and thinking of his wife. It was funny how he was missing her even more terribly today though he knew she was bound to come tomorrow. Maybe because he didn't have anything to distract him...sigh!

He closed his eyes and was half asleep when he heard some sound. Thinking it was coming from the TV he ignored it and kept his eyes closed but the sound persisted and it seemed liked footsteps. So a moment later he opened his eyes and saw Ananya coming through the door and felt himself say "Hi dear!" and then turned back to the TV in a daze. After 5 minutes he realized what happened and jerked his head towards the door to find no one. He guessed he was missing her too much and conjuring up her images.

Shaking his head, he turned to the TV. Woah! What a match! It was getting exciting with each passing moment! He increased the volume to listen to the commentary. Just then he felt like he heard someone shout. He looked around the room and found no one. Returning to TV he saw that a player had scored a goal and the crowd was roaring! He shook his head vigorously to eliminate any more imaginary noises.

"Veer, what the heck is all this?"Ananya shouted after looking at the mess in the room. Veer was watching TV with a whole lot of things strewn on the table for him to gorge upon. He was totally engrossed and all he said was, "Hi dear!" though she had returned after 7 days. She had expected him to rush to her, hold her, talk to her and all she had got was a lukewarm "Hi dear" Hmmpf! She stormed towards their room. And she knew better than to interrupt his EPL (English Premier League) watching. He was a football fanatic! Besides, Ananya knew much more awaited her. As she was walking towards the bedroom with her bag she almost tripped over his shoes in the hallway. "God! Help me!" she said keeping his shoes in place. When she entered the bedroom, his office clothes were lying on the floor. He had taken out ten more t-shirts, all of which were bundled on the floor, before he had changed into the one he was wearing now. The table had several files stacked over them while his laptop and briefcase lay on the bed. She fearfully turned to look at the laundry basket. The sight that greeted her was scarier than expected. A week's laundry lay undone. "VEEER!!!" she screamed with all her might.

well there's no connection with payback...but that line in payback is what prompted me to write this
