update:
It was drizzling, Sharon loved this weather because it was neither too wet nor too humid, the cold breeze made her feel alive. She loved to jog in this weather she tied her hair in a bun, put on her hood and played the one direction playlist on her i-pod. She walked along the track her eyes searching for him, she found him at the farthest corner of the park doing the routine stretching exercises. She stood still for moments just staring at him her lips twitching upwards into a smile. "The risk paid off; thank god I decided to come here instead of going to the club near my house." She had woken up early that morning thinking about him and everything that had happened the previous day, seeing the weather she decided to go for a jog before college but instead of going to her club, she picked up the car keys and drove to the club near Swayam's house, she wasn't sure if he would come given the weather and his mood but had come along anyway hoping he would.
She pulled her hood closer to her face and started jogging, her eyes never leaving him. She didn't go on along the whole track but kept circling the one around his park scrutinising him. She could see that he was doing the exercises perfunctorily without any inclination to do them, he wasn't even completing them and after a few minutes he stopped and sat down on the grass with his head bowed and eyes closed. She slowed down a little feeling guiltier than ever, she couldn't go to him, she couldn't go away and she had never felt this helpless ever before. She stopped and walked up to the shed sat down on the bench that wasn't visible to Swayam "I am sorry, really sorry but I don't know how to make it right."
A ball came flying at Swayam and hit him both of them moved their heads simultaneously to see who threw it, a boy of around 12 ran towards him and picked it up apologising, Swayam nodded and a murmured "it's okay." The boy went back to playing football alone he would kick the ball towards a bush which she figured was acting as the goal, then ran after it brought it back and did the same over again. She saw him observing the boy saw him looking around probably to see who the boy was with and then he stood up and walked towards him, she couldn't hear him and so didn't know what they were talking about, the boy pointed towards a couple who were in their late thirties and were jogging, they waved and Swayam waved back, she figured that they knew each other maybe neighbours, Swayam kicked the ball towards left and started playing with the boy. She had seen him play basketball before and remembered the kabaddi match too so it wasn't surprising that he was good at football but he wasn't playing to win she saw him deliberately holding back letting the boy take the ball and goal, feigning disappointment then continuing the same way. He didn't make it seem too easy to the boy, made him really work for it she could see the boy's face glow when he would be able to tackle the ball from Swayam and he would go running around the park in joy when he scored. Swayam would hi-5 him and sometimes even point out a few mistakes he would patiently explain it to him then they would go back to dribbling the ball. She knew the boy was gaining confidence and she was amazed at how well Swayam was handling it, most people she had seen would either be too impatient and would blast off the kid for a silly error or some were too full of themselves and play in a condescending manner but Swayam treated him as an equal in fact made the boy feel superior.
Sharon had known Swayam a long time know, almost two years She knew that he was different than all other boys, he was a truly amazing human being but what she witnessed made her respect him more than anyone else in her life almost at par with her father. "There is no way a guy like that would question any girl's morality, a guy who has genuine respect for every human being would never treat a girl like that, never. He must be broken right now I have to make it right it is my fault and I would do everything possible to redeem myself." She checked her watch and it was 7 she had to leave or she would be late for college, she gave them one last glance and walked towards her car. She reversed the car and was about to take the short route but then decided against it she took the long one that curved towards the spot where they were playing, They had stopped playing, the parents had come back and they were talking to Swayam, the boy hugged Swayam and for the first time that morning he smiled, he smiled his genuine smile it didn't reach his eyes but it made her smile too. "Thank you god for that, bless the kid he did me a huge favour today, I promise Swayam that I would never let this smile leave your face again and the next time you smile it would show in your eyes too I promise you that." She saw him about turn and hurriedly left the place glancing back after every few minutes through the rear view mirror.
