Part: 2 The proposal
"I love you madly, Khushi." She turned red as she heard these words from him.
"I love you too, Mr. Raizaada" she hardly said these words, preventing her eyes from meeting his while saying them. Then she looked at his deep eyes to figure out his reaction. The love she saw was enough to make her the happiest. She can stare at these eyes for ages without getting bored even for a while. Then it dawned on her that today is her sister's wedding.
"Let's go. We are getting late." She immediately said when she got back to reality.
"Why are you in hurry, sweetheart? There's still sometime before the rituals begin" he said while he was placing a kiss on her cheek.
"Arnavji," she screams, "It's my sister's and your brother's marriage"
"I know this." he was teasing her, he laughed silently. He loves the way her face's features changes and her tone too when she is annoyed.
"Calm down. I know you waited for this day. You even think about it more than Payal. I know how happy you are for her. And at the same time you don't want her to leave you, but there's no need to cry because you are going to be there soon." he murmured the last few words that she couldn't hear them clear. she was truly happy, but know she became happier as he understands her and knows what she is going through. She felt that she could fly and touch the sky.
"Let's go now." he said then he offered his hand to her leading her to the car.
"Buckle up." He said while he was putting his seat belt, but he got no reply.
"Khushi, how many times do I have to tell you put'" then he stopped when she pointed out at the seat belt.
"You don't have to be nervous for everything."
"It's not anything. It's YOU."
"Acha baba theek hai. Now shall you drive?"
He was stroking her left arm and her bangles to make sound while he was driving. She shivered just as she did when he touched her for the first time. He played 'I Say a Little Prayer For you' song, and he started singing for her then she joined him to emphasize that she shares him the same feelings.
When they reached home, he stepped out the car, opened the door for her, and offered his hand. She gave him her hand until she stepped out, then she pulled it.
"You can't hold my hand here in front of everyone." She replied simply.
"That's what I want to announce to the whole world. I. Love. You. And this will spare my words as I don't have to tell everyone."
"You don't have any idea how beautiful you are when you are angry. This twinkle in your eyes just drives me crazy and calls me to kidnap you so I could be alone with you without caring about others." her heart melt as it heard these words. Every time he says such words, she sees her paradise, everything around her smiles only for her.
They had entered the house before the priest started the rituals. He stood beside Anjali. He was happy and worried at the same time for some reason she knows it.
"Today the best day for it, chotte. Don't miss up this chance."
"I'm sure chotte. Don't worry. Did you buy it?"
"Yes, Di."
Then Khushi came to greet Anjali with a smily face, "Namaste, Anjaliji"
"Namaste, how are you Khushiji?"
"I'm fine. Aur aap?"
"How can't I be happy when I have chotte and Akaash?! They are caring about me more than myself and never let me do anything. I have just to rest." Anjali started to praise her brothers in front of Khushi -One her love, and the other her brother-in-law-
Khushi smiled, "You desrve this Anjaliji. You are kind and good." Anjali smiled to Khushi and asked her leave as she wanted to see if Akaash is ready or not.
"Your Di praises you a lot!!" Khushi said trying to tease him, "I didn't know that you're such a good brother."
"Oh, so what did you think?!" he said with a smirk, "I am bad?!"
"Maybe..."she continued in using that teasing tone, but she stopped and looked serious when he said, "Di is my world, and I can do everything for her. She is my best friend."
He was serious this time and his eyes showed the love he has for his Di.
Khushi smiled and prayed silently to her DM to give him the strength to make her Di happy.
Khushi excused herself and went to see Payal. Then after minutes she brought the dulhan, who was wearing a red-green lehenga. She was gorgeous. Payal took both families wishes for this new life. Then she sat for the rituals beside Akaash, who was a little worried, but her coming relaxed him. Then the priest started to recite.
When the bridegroom started their seven rounds around the fire and the guests started to shower them with flowers petal, Khushi felt some petals on her hair she looked behind and found Arnav standing two steps away. She smiled and stared at him before she could realize what she was doing. She turned to look at her jiji and remembered what her mother has told her about these rounds' importance.
Once they finished, Arnav looked at his Di then asked the guests attention for some announcment, "Ladies and gentlemen," he started in his own way as a noble.
He looked at Khushi, who looked confused, and continued, "I want to announce..." then he stopped. He stepped towards Khushi, her heartbeats increased fast and fast, then he put his right knee on the floor ,like a hero propose in movies, and showed the ring and asked her "Will you marry me?" Her heartbeats stopped as she heard these words. Then she dared to take glance at the guests, everyone was staring at them.
He asked again, "Will you complete me?" and she remembered how he behaved at the first meeting.
Flashback
Four months ago...
Arnav was in his way to meet some client for the Spring Show. He told Anjali that he might get late. While he was driving his Nissan Patrol car, he saw a girl, a beautiful girl. She was wearing a blue Salwaar Kameez. She was with two friends eating Golgappa. A laugh was covering her innocent face. He stopped the car and stared at her. Then some one called her 'Khushi' and she waved her hands to her.
'So, her name is Khushi'. He was dumbstruck. He kept staring at her until some car obscured the sight. Then she wasn't there. he cursed that car and went home lost in her thought.
'Khushi, Khushi, Khushi' This was the sound of his heartbeat. Then his lips shared them and started to utter her name.
Anjali was worried as he came back home. She knocked the door and asked him if there's any problem. He assured her and she stepped towards the door. She heard 'Khushi'. She asked him"Khushi?!! Who?!!"
He answered slowly that he could concentrate on his words, "She. I mean the show... Khushi suits a lot the show... This will be the title 'Happiness'. Yes, Khushi will be the title."
She smiled a left her brother with a thought that something is fishy.
"Damn. What have I done?! Why I acted like this?!" he told the walls. This girl occupied his thoughts. Her image never let him.
After a month. Raizaada family was going to see a girl for Akaash. They got ready. Anjali called Arnav and asked him to come along with them and he refused. Then at the last minute he decided to go for Akaash's sake.
They reached there. Manorama was annoyed and thought how my son will marry a girl from this class. Hello Hi Bye Bye. Both Arnav and Akaash helped their Di to step out the car. Then nani knocked the door. Khushi opened the door. And Arnav, who was busy with his hair, startled and thought that he just imagines her. They entered the house while he was standing at the door. She excused him and asked him to come in.
He was surprised. He thought he will never find her. He thanked Akaash silently for bringing him here 'In the Paradise' as he thought.
Khushi was at the kitchen preparing tea. His mind was with her while the rest were talking about the new rishta. His eyes were rolling around and his movement looked strange. Anjali noticed this and asked him if there's something. He replied that he needs water. Garima was about to stand up when he stopped her and said, "It's fine. I'll bring it myself. You tell me where shall I go?!" and he went. She was preparing tea happily. He stared at her until she noticed his presence.
'Is he mad?!' she thought.
"Will you marry me?!" He asked her. She was astonished and she thought, 'He is really mad'
"Excuse me, Do you want anything?!" she asked him trying to be kind.
"Yes, you...I mean could you give me a glass of water?!"
She nodded, turned her back. and chuckled. He took the glass and looked at her.
"Won't you drink it?!!!"
"Hmmm...haa...sure" He lost his control, He drank it and gave her the glass, but he didn't move.
"Anything else?!"
"No, thanks" and he left the kitchen. Anjali could see something in her brother's eyes. She asked him when he sat beside her if he is ok, and he nodded his head in 'yes'
After a minute, Khushi came with tea. Buaji introduced her to the family.
"Yeh hamri Sanka Devi. Mera matlab Khushi. Payal's younger sister"
Khushi greeted them all, and Arnav hardly said 'Namaste' when she greeted him.Anjali for some reason thought, 'Is it the same Khushi?! Maybe...' And when they left Gupta's family. Arnav's gaze was still on Khushi.
Flashback ends
Khushi looked at Arnav then at the ring. She was thinking of her family.
So, How was it?!!! Tell me?!!
What will Khushi do?!!!
