Coming to the update, I've read quite a few comments asking for Virman's confession and cancer revealation.. But then, its all going to happen gradually.. Thats all I can say for now.. But trust me, you won't be disappointed.. 😃

Part 11
"Partner, bohot jhaag bikher liya.. Ab seedhe point pe aayein??
Point pe aayein?? Yess please!!.. She wanted the same too.. But they both failed to realize that they were on different pages..
Manvi shifted on her bed and turned to Virat, "Pehle main.. as always.. Tum yahaan kyu aaye ho?"
What?? What is she saying?? Seedhe point pe aa gayi??
"Oye, Mr. Chep, kahaan ho? Yahaan.. wapas dharti pe aa jao.. Haan toh ab batao, tum kyun aaye ho? Aur yeh ajeeb si ladki ko saath kyun laaye ho?"
And then it clicked, So this is what she wanted to talk about?? Hell!! And here he was thinking?? Well, no worries Partner..
"Manvi.." He started walking towards Manvi with an unknown glint in his eyes. Manvi stood upright and started walking backwards..
"Virat.. yeh tum??"
He had reached her in a few strides and had her backed up against the wall.. He put both hands on either sides of her to block her way out. Her eyes had almost popped out and she stood there staring at him, unable to comprehend anything.. They had never been so close before. She felt butterflies in her stomach when Virat placed his index finger on her lips,
"Shh..Ab tum meri baat sunogi aur mere sawaalon ke jawab dogi.. Dogi na?? aur.. aur koi behes nahi karogi.. Right, Manvi??.." She nodded her head violently..
He smirked and let her go. He moved back to the bed and motioned her to come and sit next to him.
Manvi walked to the bed as fast as her legs could carry her and sat facing Virat.
He took her hand in his own and looked into her eyes,
"Partner, where were you? Thi kahaan tum itne din?"
She looked up startled. She had expected him to be angry and demand an explanation from her. After all, they had been best friends.. But here he was asking her politely and was patiently awaiting her answer.
"Pata hai kitne calls, messages kiye? Ek ka bhi jawab nahi.. Kyun Manvi?"
She kept staring at him while she kept contemplating on how to escape this situation.
"Manvi, I'm talking to you.. Answer me dammit!!" And that was it.. He had masked all his frustration, anger and desperation behind his fake sugary smile and mischievous eyes.
He stood up, grabbed her arms and pulled her towards himself.
"Virat.. Virat..You're hurting me.. Choddo mujhe.." She tried wriggling out of his arms but she knew it was futile. He was a khaate-peete ghar ka Punjabi munda..
"I..I'm hurting you.. It was you who had disappeared. Kissi ko koi khabar nahi thi tumhari.. Tumhare gharwalon ne yahaan tak ki Jeevika Bhabhi ne bhi mujhe kuch nahi bataya.. Do you know what I went through all these months?"
"Virat..main.."
She tried fumbling for words because it was obvious that she couldn't tell him the truth.. There were two reasons behind her disappearance. She couldn't reveal the first one to him.. Never!! And the second one?? No, she couldn't do it. She had dreaded this moment for the past 4 months.. She shut her eyes and tried to think logically.. Soch Manvi.. Soch.. Partner tujhe aise nahi jaane dega.. You have to answer him..
Fine!! She had made up her mind.. He wanted to know the truth and she would just oblige him with it.. A part of it!!
"Virat, pehle mere haath chodo.. Chodo yaar Partner.."
He left her arms as he saw the determination in her eyes..
She walked to the window and took a deep breath.. She rubbed her upper arms..
"Partner, yeh duniya kuch ajeeb nahi hai.. Hum chaahte kuch hain aur ho kuch aur jaata hai.." She turned around to face him and found him gazing at her attentively.
"Maine jee-jaan laga di thi tumhe aur Maya ko milane ke liye.. Kyun? Firstly, kyunki Swamini Buaji ne pehli baar mujhse kuch maanga tha.. Maine humesha unhe niraash kiya tha.. Of course unknowingly!
And secondly, kyunki baat tumse judi thi.. Maine tumhe woh Devdas Mukherji wale roop mein bohot baar dekha tha.. Main jaanti thi ki koi ladki ka chakkar jaroor tha.. Buaji ne mujhe bataya ki Maya tumhari ex-girlfriend thi aur tum dono ka kisi baat ko lekar jhagda ho gaya tha.. Aur toh aur, Maya ne unse contact bhi kiya tha.. Kyunki woh ek mauka chahti thi, apni galti sudhaarne ke liye.. Toh maine socha ki main agar unki help kar deti toh gharwalein bhi khush ho jaate, Maya bhi khush aur tum bhi..
Isliye, main Maya se milne gayi.. Usse baat-cheet badhayi.. Usse iss baat ka ehsaas dilaya ki woh ab bhi tumse pyaar karti hai.. Aur bass.. Jaisa maine socha tha, bilkul waisa hi hua.. Tumhara aur Maya ka patch-up ho gaya tha.. Trust me, iss poori duniya mein sabse jyada khush main thi..
Phir main Hrishikesh laut aai.. Lekin uske agle hafte, mujhe Maya ka call aaya.."
***Flashback***
Maya: "How dare you Manvi?? Tumne Virat ko mere khilaaf bhadkaya? And now he won't even talk to me.. Woh mere saath breakup karke gaya hai abhi..
Manvi: Kya? Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho??
Maya: Ab jyada bano mat.. I know ki tumhi ne Virat ko patti padhayi hai.. Lekin remember, Maya itni asaani se haar nahi maanti.. Jo mera hai, usse main haasil karke hi rahungi.."
Manvi: Maya.. Maya..meri baat toh suno..
Maya had called up Swamini Bua after the call with Manvi..
Swamini: Haan Maya bolo..
Maya (fake sobbing) : Buaji.. Buaji, woh Virat aur mera jhagda ho gaya hai.. Aur usne mere saath breakup kar diya..
Swamini: Kya? That's not possible..
Maya: No Buaji, Virat abhi yahaan se gaya hai.. Aur woh bohot gusse mein tha..
Swamini: Lekin Maya, baat kya hui? What happened all of a sudden?
Maya: Manvi!!
Swamini: Manvi.. Manvi what??
Maya: Yeh sab uss Manvi ne kiya hai.. Usne natak kiya mujhe aur Virat ko saath lane ka.. Lekin asliyat kuch aur hai..
Swamini couldn't believe her hears.. What had this girl done now!!
Maya: Haan Buaji, ussi ne Virat ke dil mein mere khilaaf zeher bhara hai.. She tricked us Buaji.."
And she hung up with a smirk.. Ab tumhe pata chalega Manvi, ki Maya Malhotra ke saath panga lekar tumne achha nahi kiya.. Aur Virat Vadhera, tumhi toh main itni asaani se nahi chodungi.. Jo mera hai, usse main haasil karke rahungi..
Swamini had been enraged when she found out.. But she kept mum as it was late night and decided to confront Virat in the morning. However, she was surprised to know that Virat had left the house early in the morning.. She had a feeling that Viren was hiding his whereabouts from the family.
And her doubts were confirmed when she had found that Virat was on his way to meet Manvi.
Swamini: Jeevika, kya tumhe pata tha ki Virat Hrishikesh gaya hai?
Jeevika was shocked beyond wits.
Jeevika: Kya, lekin??
Swamini: Oh really, toh tum nahi jaanti ki Virat Manvi se milne Hrishikesh gaya hai.. Aur woh bhi Maya ke saath breakup karne ke baad agli subah hi..
Jeevika knew where this was going. However she was not going to tolerate people pointing fingers at her kid sister. But she had to be calm because the Vadheras were her family now.
Jeevika: Nahi Buaji, mujhe isske baare mein kuch bhi nahi pata hai.. Aur mujhe yakeen hai ki aap jaisa soch rahi hain waisa kuch bhi nahi hai..
Swamini: Yea right! Toh tum hi batao na ki Virat Manvi se milne, hum sab se chupakar kyun gaya hai..
Jeevika: Buaji, woh..
Swamini: Nahi hai na koi jawaab.. Hum jaante the.. Lekin ek baat sunlo aur acche se samajh bhi lo. Hum kabhi bhi apne parivaar ki izzat aur maryada par koi aanch nahi aane denge.. Chaahe phir wajah tumhari behen hi kyun na ho!!
With that she had walked out leaving a stunned Jeevika.
And Jeevika had done exactly what was expected of her being Manvi's elder sister and a Vadhera bahu.. She had called up Manvi and asked her to stay away from Virat and not encourage him.
Few weeks later,
Jeevika, Viren and Virat had returned home to Chandigarh after having helped the Chaudhrys set up Chachu's new shop. It was past midnight and Virat was in the garden talking to his Partner. "Kya yaar tum bhi.. Tum mere liye itna nahi kar sakti? Aur vaade toh bade bade kiye the tumne uss din? Itni asaani se humara rishta nahi tootne dunga main Partner."
Swamini had overheard the one-sided conversation and had immediately jumped to conclusions.
Next morning after breakfast, she had summoned Viren and Jeevika to her room.
S: Viren, hum tum dono se kuch baat karne chahte hain..
She saw Virika exchanging questioning glances.
S: Hum aaj dopahar Hrishikesh jaa rahein hai.. Hum chahte hain kit um dono bhi humare saath chalo..
Viren and Jeevika were both shocked. Jeevika nudged Viren to speak first.
V: Lekin Badi Ma, achanak Hrishikesh kyun? Koi baat hui hai kya?
S: Haan Viren, ek baat hai jo humein kayi dinon se pareshaan kar rahi hai.. Samajhlo ki humein apno galatfamiyaan door karni hain.. Tum dono ready rehna..
Virika's room
Jeevika was pacing the length of the room while Viren was lost in deep thoughts..
J: Ho na ho Virenji, mujhe shaq hai ki Buaji Manvi ko lekar pareshaan hain..
Viren though was thinking along the same lines, thought it would be better if they just waited to watch what was in store for them. They had left for Hrishikesh as decided.
They had received a warm welcome at the Chaudhrys as always. Manvi was very ecstatic to see meet her sister. Finally, they had gathered around at the dining table. Beeji had noticed that Swamini and Viren were tensed and even Jeevika looked a little disturbed.
Beeji: Swaminiji, accha kiya aap logon ne aakar.. Waise koi khaas wajah thi?
S: Jee Beeji, humein aapse aur Manvi se kuch baatein karni thi..
Manvi looked at her sister questioningly while Jeevika nodded her head and asked her to remain silent.
S: Manvi yahaan aao..Dekho Manvi, tum jaanti ho ki hum humesha saaf-saaf baatein karte hain.. Kayi baar humari baatein logon ko kadvi aur kathor bhi lagti hain.. Aaj hum tumse bhi aise hi kissi mudde pe baat karna chahte hain..
Manvi sat opposite Swamini, while Jeevika and Viren stood behind her.
M: Jee Buaji, kahiye..
S: Manvi, kya tum jaanti ho ki Virat aur Maya ka breakup kyun hua?
Virika exchanged glances again and Jeevika placed her hand on Manvi's shoulder.
She was confused. What was happening? Had the Vadheras come here all the way from Chandigarh to discuss the Chep's breakup?
M: Nahi Buaji. Mujhe sach mein nahi pata.
S: Kyun? Virat ne nahi bataya tumhe? Tum dono toh der raat tak ek doosre se phone pe chat karte ho, right?
Manvi was getting embarrassed now. The entire family was staring at her while Swamini glared at her.
S: Kya hua? Nahi pata tumhe? Fine, hum hi batate hain.. Virat aur Maya ke breakup ki sabse badi wajah tum ho Manvi, tum!
Jeevika and Beeji gasped while Viren looked away and Manvi kept staring at Swamini.
M: Buaji, aap yeh kya?
S: Humari baat abhi khatam nahi hui hai. Humein sab pata hai.. Maya ne humein bataya ki kaise tumne pehle toh un dono ko milane ke liye plans banaye. Shayad hum sab ki nazron mein aur mahaan ban ne ke liye, Right? Aur jab tumne yeh dekha ki Virat phir se Maya mein interest lene laga tha, toh tumne usse bhadkana shuru kiya!
She had now stood up from her seat and her voice was raised as well.
Manvi was shocked. She couldn't believe this conversation was taking place, and that too in front of her entire family. But she couldn't take it lying down. She was not at fault.
M: Nahi Buaji, aapko jaroor koi galatfami hui hai.. Please trust me, maine kuch bhi nahi kiya hai.. Woh toh kissi baat ko lekar un dono mein jhagda ho gaya aur Virat ne Maya se rishta tod diya..
S: Of course! Humein tumse yahi umeed thi.. Aur chalo maan lete hain, ke un dono ke beech jhagda hua.. Lekin uski wajah bhi toh tum hi thi na..
M: Nahi Buaji, please believe me. Main nahi jaanti iske baare mein kuch bhi.. Aur phir, main aisa kyun karungi?
She failed to understand why Swamini was hell bent on blaming her.
S: Tum aisa kyu karogi? Oh cmon Manvi.. Tum yeh nahi chahti thi ki Virat kissi aur se shaadi kare.. Tum yeh nahi chahti thi ki Virat TUMHARE SIVA kissi aur se koi relationship banaye..
She felt as if someone had slapped her hard. She heard Jeevika gasp, while Viren interfered this time.
Viren: Ek minute Badi Ma, mujhe lagta hai ki aapko koi misunderstanding hui hai.. Manvi ne aisa kuch nahi kiya hai.. Maya aur Virat ke breakup ki wajah khud Maya hai.. Virat ko yeh realize ho gaya tha Maya ab bhi bilkul nahi badly thi.. She is just as self-centred and cunning as before. Isliye, usne Maya ke saath apni relationship end ki..
S: Bass Viren, toh ab tum bhi humare khilaaf jaoge? Woh bhi, iss ladki ke liye? Tum isse defend kar rahe ho? Oh wait a sec! Hum toh bhool hi gaye the after all yeh tumhari saali jo hai.. Right?
Viren was absolutely shocked and so were the Chaudhrys.
V: Badi Ma please. Main kissi ko defend nahi kar raha.. Main bass itna keh raha hoon ki you are jumping to conclusions. Virat aur Manvi ke beech aisa kuch nahi hai.. They're just friends. Best friends, in fact.. That's it..
S: Theek hai Viren, maan lete hain. But how would you explain the fact that the very next morning after his breakup with Maya, Virat had left for Hrishikesh? Kyun Viren?
Viren looked around. He was the only one who knew the real reason behind Virat visiting Manvi. He was the one who had made his foolish brother realize and accept his feelings for Manvi. He knew Virat loved her. But he could not reveal their little secret. Things were already complicated and he didn't want to worsen matters.
Seeing Viren silent, She now turned to Beeji, "Kya aapko bhi humari baat galat lag rahi hai Beeji?"
Beeji was at a loss of words. She had raised the two sisters and had full faith in them. She knew Manvi was mischievous and immature at times, but she could never do this.
Beeji: Haan Swaminiji, mujhe lagta hai aapko jaroor koi galatfami hui hai. Manvi aisa nahi kar sakti..
S: Waah! Itna bharosa hai aapko apni poti par? Humein toh pehle hi samajh jaana chahiye tha, ki aap sab bhi issme shaamil honge..
This was it.. They all had never been more humiliated in their lives before.
Jeevika stood there silently watching Buaji blaming Manvi, her husband defending her sister and now, Buaji had insulted her family. This was the last straw. Something within her snapped.
J: Bass Buaji!!
And everyone turned towards the direction of that soft yet stern voice.
J: Aap tabse Mannu par ilzaam laga rahin hai.. Main maanti hoon ki Manvi aur Virat ki nazdeekiyon se aap pareshan hain..Main samajhti bhi hoon ki aap apni jagah par shayad sahib hi hain.. Lekin yeh koi tareeka nahi hua na mere gharwalon se baat karne ka! Hum baithkar saari baatein solve kar sakte hain.. Lekin iss tarah ilzaam lagana..
Now Swamini was livid.. How dare this girl talk to me like this?
S: Jeevika, toh ab tum bhi inn sabke saath ho? Right, humne tumhe bhi samajhne ki galti kar di..
Tum bhi toh yahi chahogi na ki Manvi aur Virat kareeb aayein. Rather Manvi Virat ko apne pyaar ke jaal mein phasaye! Iss mein faayda jo hai tum logon ka.. Dono behnein ek hi ghar mein thaat se rahein.. Aakhir dikha hi diya na tum chotte logon ne apna asli chehra!
Gasps, shreaks echoed through the house'
"Bass kijiye.. Bass.. bohot ho gaya' "
And they all looked up at Manvi who had fallen on her knees clutching her head between her palms.
M: "Bass Buaji.. Main aapki bohot izzat karti hoon. Aap meri Di ki Bua-saas hain.. Lekin kissi ko.. kissi ko bhi yeh haq nahi hai ki woh meri Di ke character pe ungli uthaye..
Meri Di ne aaj tak kabhi koi galat kaam karna toh door socha tak nahi hai.. Ganga Ma ki tarah pavitra hai meri Di ki soch.. Aur aaj aap unpe itna bada ilzaam laga rahin hai..
Main ab tak chup thi kyunki main aapki respect karti thi.. Lekin ab.. ab aur nahi.. Aap meri Di ya meri family ko aur insult nahi karengi.. Hum chotte log jaroor hain lekin humare liye humari self-respect aur humare ussool hi sab kuch hain.. Aur koi unpar ungli uthaye, yeh humein manzoor nahi hai.."
The family stared at her while Jeevika moved close to her and held her arm,
J: "Mannu, tu yeh sab.."
She looked at her with tears in her eyes,
"Di, I'm sorry.. Mujhe maaf kar dijiye.. Aaj phir se ek baar meri wajah se aapki aankhon mein aansoo hain.. Maine humesha aapko sirf takleef hi di hai.. Par ab aur nahin.. Manvi ki zindagi aapki amaanat hai.. Aap jo chahogi, main karungi..
Aapne kaha than a ki mujhe Virat se door rehna hoga.. Main ab yahi karungi.. Lekin haan, iske yeh matlab nahi ki mere dil mein chor hai ya mere iraade kabhi galat the.. Virat mera sabse achha dost hai.. Lekin aajse meri aur uski dosti khatam.. Ab se woh mere liye sirf aur sirf meri Di ka dewar hoga.. Aur kuch nahi!"
Beeji, Chachu-Chachi were proud of the two sisters. Swamini was fuming while Viren was disappointed with the turn of events. He knew that this incident was going to be a big hurdle in Virat and Manvi's relationship in the future. He knew Manvi loved Jeevika too much to defy her. He sighed and silently prayed for his brother.
The Vadheras had returned back to Chandigarh that very night.
Manvi had finally decided to go to Mumbai for her treatment. Something that she had been avoiding for months. And it was decided that Manvi would leave for Mumbai, the following morning with Dabbu and Beeji.
***Flashback over***
Virat stood there, still holding Manvi's hands while she sobbed over his shoulder..
"I'm sorry Partner.."
Done!! How was it? Hope I didn't bore you with this bit.. I know you guys weren't expecting this.. But it was quite necessary for Virat to be aware of that incident in the past.. The track couldn't have progressed without it..
Also, I'm sure some of you might think that Swamini was a little OTT.. But that's how I had it in mind.. No offence to Seema Kapoor.. She's brilliant.. But love-ishtory mein jab tak villian na ho, maza nahi aata, Right?? 😉
