OS : The Gunshot Part 2

Arnav and Anjali gazed in horror at the sight in front of them...

Two bodies lay motionless on the ground...

Arnav bolted frantically to Khushi...Screaming back at his Di to call an Ambulance...

Shyam was laying on top of her...

Arnav brutally yanked Shyam's body off Khushi's...

They were both covered with blood...

Meaning someone had been shot...

"Khushi!" he said brokenly as he lifted her limp body close to his...she had blood on her head...He used his sleeve to wipe it away..."No cut?" he said confused...

His eyes darted to Shyam...his head was bleeding...obviously injured from the collision...

In Arnav's mind he was positive it was Shyam who had got hit by the bullet...blood was covering his shirt...

Anjali interrupted his thoughts..."Chote...check her breathing...check her pulse...the ambulance is on their way..."

Arnav felt Khushi's pulse faintly beating...

He bent down leaning his face close to hers and felt her breath on his lips...

Relief swept through him...

She was alive..."it WAS shyam who was shot..." he murmured

He looked up and down the length of her body...

He saw how much blood was on her...

He was disgusted with Shyam for what he had done...

Khushi started to whimper and moan...Arnav held her gently as he spoke, his voice laced with worry..."Shhh, it's over...Khushi...an ambulance is coming and they will check you over...Anjali is looking out for the..."

Khushi's harsh cry of pain silenced him instantly...

"Khushi?" he said as terror rippled through his entire being..."Khushi what's wrong? Khushi!?"

Arnav held her closer to him, tightening his grip round her waist...as his hands moved across her, she screamed out in pain...

He stopped moving.

Was She?

No...NO!

"Khushi?..." his hand moved up her ribcage...

There was a pool of blood...

His trembling hand lifted her saree...

He mentally pleaded with God that he wouldn't see what he was now dreading to see...

As he exposed her midriff...

He turned pale with fright...
