Hi friends…… here's the next update…. I know I'm not going to be one of your favorite persons after reading it…… so I apologize in advance. 😔

Part 46

Amar woke up with a start when he heard someone bang the car door…… he looked up to find Yash in the driver's seat trying to get the engine running.

Amar- hey dude….. fixed the tire?

Yash- yes.

Amar- why dint you wake me up?... I would have helped you.

Yash turned around to glare at him…… his eyes shifted to the sleeping form next to Amar.

Following his gaze, Amar noticed that Shakti's head was still resting on his chest and she had her arms wrapped around his waist….. he let out a sigh…… so now he knows….. good for him!!……Yash looked ahead and started the engine…… after a mile or two, he finally broke the silence.

Yash- you could have told me.

This time Amar did not pretend to not understand what Yash meant.

Amar- I tried…… I asked you if you wanted to know who the guy was.

After contemplating to what Amar had said, Yash heaved a sigh.

Yash- ya….. my bad…… I should have realized it long back.

Amar- no hard feelings bro….. I wasn't trying to insult you….. we just don't want to go public yet.

Yash-hmm….. I understand.

Amar- thanks.

They dint feel the need for any more explanations…… And for the rest of the journey, they never spoke again.

When Shakti woke up and realized that Amar was still with her in the back seat, and neither of the two guys exchanged a word….. she put 2 and 2 together….. somehow instead of panicking, she was glad the matter was already discussed between the two.….. she wouldn't have been so comfortable if she had to hear what had been said….. the only time she spoke was to give Yash directions to her place….. And ofcourse to bit him a farewell, when he finally pulled in her building compound….. she was surprised when Amar hopped out with her….. The minute Yash left, she turned to him.

Shakti- ghar nahi jaana kya?

Amar- I was hoping you would invite me up.

She laughed.

Shakti- thik hai….. chalo….. waise bhi everyone wanted to meet you….. it's been long.

Amar- cool

Shakti- umm….. just keep your hands to yourself.

Amar- I'll try. (wink)

He followed her in the elevator….. unfortunately, they weren't alone….. there was a group of shy teenage boys, who would blush every time Shakti asked them a question…… well, Shakti was toh Shakti, totally oblivious to her charms…… he felt a pinch of jealously when she laughed and teased them….. but it was endearing to watch her at such ease and comfort with anyone and everyone.

The only time he got to kiss her was outside her door, before Mukti yanked the door open.

Mukti- Shaks!!!... hiii!!!

She gave Shakti a rib squashing hug and they danced around in a circle, holding each other, laughing.

Shakti- missed you.

Mukti- missed you more!!... how was the wedding?

Shakti- great!!

Mukti finally noticed Amar standing at the door.

Mukti- hi gabroo jawan….. kya haal hai?... long time... bhool gaya hume?

She went to give him a hug too.

Amar- can I ever forget the beautiful Mohan sisters? (wink)

Mukti- (laughs) common in, Mr. Flirt.

Shakti- where is everyone?

Mukti- where do you think, they would be?... mom's gone to the market and others at work.

Shakti- ohhh….. so what are you doing here?... don't you have any kaam dhandha?

Mukti- I've got an off for the day…… acha listen chuck all this, I have a surprise for both of you.

Shakti- kya?

Mukti went over at a table and retrieved an envelope from the drawer….. she walked up to Shakti, planting a kiss on her cheek, Mukti handed the letter to Shakti.

Mukti- I'm sorry, I read it... but I was curious when I read from where it was from….. go on open it.

Amar looked at Mukti quizzingly….. Shakti had already started to read the letter….. he was facing her back, so he couldn't see her face to read her expressions but the sudden stiffening of her spine spoke volumes…… something was wrong and he knew it.….. and when she turned to him with that look of alarm in those beautiful eyes, his heart stopped.

Amar- what?

Amar let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding.

Shakti blinked….. opened her mouth but her voice abdicated her….. she had no idea how to break the news….. Mukti butt in.

Mukti- she's got a job at NYC Dance Academy!!!... they want her to sign a 3 year contract….. isn't that great!!!???

She went and hugged Shakti again….. looking over Mukti's shoulder, she saw the look of total bewilderment in Amar's eyes.

Amar- (whispered) 3 years?

Mukti broke the hug and turned to Amar.

Mukti- oh that's not it…… they would give her a citizenship within a year!!!... My Shaks will be an International dance instructor!!... finally, she'll get what she wants!!... usne itni mehenat jo ki hai……

Mukti continued with her blabbering but Amar had stopped hearing... She wanted this??... he looked over at Shakti, who was still watching him, maybe trying to figure out what was running through his head.

Amar- I have to go.

Mukti- …….. and……… what?? (confused)

Amar turned around a swiftly left the house.

Mukti- (to Shakti) isse kya ho gaya? (frown)

Shakti- I'll be back……

And she followed him out of the door.

Shakti- Kunwar, wait!!

He paused at the elevator door…. She caught up with him.

Shakti- (breathlessly) let me explain.

He swiftly turned around to grab her by her shoulders.

Amar- explain what, Shakti??... that you always wanted this?... that you had applied for this job at the first opportunity you got?... that you dint think of any of us back home?... that you dint think of me?…… us??

Shakti- (irritated) Kunwar, stop it!!... when I applied for the job, I wasn't sure I would get selected….. yes, it's true I wanted this…… its every dancer's dream, to be renowned as an international dancer!!... and it's also true, that I dint think of anyone when I took this decision…. Yes you can call me selfish but that's because I was sure you all, my family and friends would support me…… like you'll always do….. and as far as we are concerned…… you damn well know, I hadn't known how I felt about you until recently….. so don't blame me for……

Amar let go off her arms.

Amar- you're going to leave??... again??

Shakti's lashes dropped…… she wasn't sure she could stand that intense gaze.

Shakti- (whispered) I….. I don't know……

Amar turned around and walked in the elevator….. as the door slid close, the last thing she saw of him, was tears brimming his eyes.

i donno y, i m also enjoying all the sad n crying updates of Arsha, like Anky... actually can't imagine such happiness between them...*sigh*😳

n about the update... a totally unexpected twist that turned on the FF again👍🏼
