Day 3: The Damsel in Distress

It was Day 3, the plan was in full force now and it was the crucial midpoint. Khushi sat there on the bed in the afternoon planning out her next move as Arnav stared at his laptop screen. Sometimes Khushi wondered what was so intriguing about that screen and what exactly did he watch or do on the laptop that he could not even spare her one look.

Arnav was busy in a conference call and he had his headphones plugged in as he was talking to an overseas client. Khushi crept up behind his back ever so slowly and carefully and saw a blonde white girl(gori) on the other end.

Khushi's eyes widened in surprise. What?!! A gori?! So this is why he never paid her much attention, he wanted a gori!! Khushi was about to faint right then and there. So much for her plan, her hubby was already looking for a second wife it seemed! Khushi looked at herself in the mirror behind the laptop. Hey I am quite gori myself she said touching her face, and that is without using any Fair and Lovely she admitted proudly. I bet that gori uses Fair and Lovely that's why she's a tad bit gorier then me!! And I look hundred times better then her, I mean yellow hair, come on now, seems like a chemistry experiment gone wrong on her hair. With all these thoughts running wild in Khushi's mind, she came up right next to Arnav's shoulder so he saw her in his camera on the screen. She was sticking out her tongue at his client and cursing her out in Hindi

Client: Umm excuse me, Mr. Raizada but do you need to go? The client said after she saw Khushi wrap her arms around Arnav's neck claiming him to be only hers.

Take that you gori, Khushi said out loud.

Arnav: Yea, actually this is'well..my..my wi..actually I'll just call you back later to discuss the rest of the project, bye. Arnav quickly closed down the screen to his laptop.

Arnav: What the hell was that?! He said turning around to look at Khushi who just batted her eyelashes innocently.

Khushi: Excuse me, I wasn't the one talking so nicely with a gori girl..

Arnav: She was a client! He yelled shocked at her irrationality!

Khushi: Oh yea how would you like it if I talked to some gora guy!! You can't even stand me talking to NK!

Arnav: Who said I couldn't stand you talking to NK? I don't care what you do.

Khushi: Oh really? Then you shouldn't care but I'm going shopping with NK, I was just waiting for you to finish your little phone date so I could tell you, Bye!

Arnav: Khushi, wait!! He said walking after her to the hallway.

Khushi stopped outside: What?!

Arnav: What do you need to buy?

Khushi: Arnav ji, if you didn't know girls like to go shopping for no apparent reason even when they don't need to buy anything, and I surely don't have enough clothes in this house, and while my hubby doesn't realize that my very very good friend NK does so he is going to take me shopping to buy me whatever I want, so now excuse me.

Arnav stopped Khushi midway: Khushi you will not go with NK.

Khushi: Watch me! She said pushing his hand away. Arnav grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him.

Arnav: You listen to me, you need anything you tell me ok, just wait I'm coming with you, no need to bother NK for anything.

Khushi gave in, after all this is what she wanted, she called up NK to tell him to get the other issues sorted out with the plan.

Arnav drove Khushi to the nearest mall and they walked in. Khushi went from store to store and also did some window shopping. After about 15 minutes she told Arnav she needed to use the bathroom and got away from his sight to meet up the three guys NK had sent.

Khushi: Hi guys, well I'm the one you are going to have to tease and pretend to steal from ok.

Guy 1: Yea yes we know, NK told us everything.

Khushi: Good, but I am warning you ahead of time, stay in your limits, a bit of overacting and its just going to cost you in the end.

Guy 2: You don't worry at all, we are professional actors, we've done this many times.

Khushi: Good good, and one more thing, my hubby, he can be a bit aggressive sometimes, well actually a lot aggressive, he doesn't even spare me so I can't even imagine what he'll do to you guys, so just be prepared for the worst ok.

Guy 3: Hai, he said staring at Arnav from afar, I'll get a thousand beatings if they are from that handsome hunk. He's so "chikna", the guy said making flirty faces towards Arnav. "He can touch me anywhere", the guy sighed!

Khushi: Excuse me!! Khushi said shocked and laughing at the guy at the same time. That's my hubby and he is off limits, you got that!! She said pointing her finger at him.

Khushi: Now I'm going to go into that store, she said pointing in the direction opposite to where Arnav was standing. You guys come in a bit after me and you know what to do then ok.

The guys nodded and Khushi headed towards Arnav.

Arnav: That took kind of long.

Khushi: Whatever, she said rolling her eyes and walking to the next store. She stopped right in front of the store exclusively for lingerie (Victoria's Secret). I'm going here ok, she said looking towards Arnav who was growing red with embarrassment as he stared at the mannequins dressed in two pieces and skimpy outfits.

Arnav: Do you really need all this? He said gulping and closing his eyes, trying to hide the images that were forming in his head and the heat that was emanating from all over his body.

Khushi: Umm every girl needs this Arnavji, it's just basic essentials, she said matter of factly. Anyway would you like to come inside?

Arnav: No no he said nervously, I'm fine here, he said taking out a handkerchief and wiping away the sweat from his forehead and neck. It had gotten unusually hot in here.

Khushi entered the store and started to look around while Arnav watched from outside keeping an eye on her while turning away every so often as she walked in front of a particular piece and the image of her in it created havoc in his mind.

Arnav: This girl is driving me crazy he thought, rubbing his eyes to take away the sinful images.

Soon as she walked further into the store, he was no longer able to see her and he noticed three guys walk into the store.

Arnav: Shameless men , he thought in his head.

A few minutes later he heard Khushi yelling at someone.

Khushi: Don't touch me.

Guy 1: What do you want to buy sweety, let me know, I'll buy you whatever you want.

Arnav walked into the store at hearing Khushi's voice.

Guy 2: You're gorgeous, can I get you numba?

Arnav clenched his fist as he walked towards the guys in a rage.

Guy 3: I'm sure you'll look sexy in this wanna try it on for us, he said giving Khushi a skimpy two piece as he pulled her hand.

Khushi: Let me go!!

Just then Arnav came punching Guy 3 in the face. Inside his head Guy 3 was imagining Dostana, "Hai he touched me, the handsome hunk touched me", Guy 3 jumped and fainted from happiness.

Arnav slapped and punched the other guys till blood started to come out from their mouths.

Arnav: Don't you dare speak to my wife like that. And how did you even get the nerve to touch her! He yelled, Get out of my face right now before I kill you.

The guys scampered away all black and blue, picking up their fainted partner, and they gave sad looks towards Khushi who gave them an "I told you so" look.

Arnav cupped Khushi's face in his hands. Khushi are you ok, he asked softly with worry evident in his eyes. They didn't hurt you did they? He asked looking her up and down checking for bruises.

Khushi: I'm fine and I thought you didn't really care what happens to me, I'm fine on my own, you didn't need to come inside here acting like a hero.

Arnav: Excuse me Khushi I didn't come in here to act like a hero, I came in here for you! For your sake!

Khushi: But I don't matter to you, then why?!

Arnav: You do matter dammit, you do!

Khushi: Why?!

Arnav: Because you're my wife, and no one has the right to touch you except me, you got that, he said as he pulled her hand and walked her out of the mall.

Khushi smiled inwardly staring at Arnav's face. He is just so adorable she thought in her head, at last his "faraq padtha hai (it matters)" was back, and wouldn't be long till he confessed his true feelings to her, just 2 more days!!
