The dimmed auditorium spoke of a latent voice, the music blew out of the unraised curtains, the classic thumping of irregular beats depicting the various ragas in the voice of pain, the music changed its pace and an erratic sound was heard...and with that the curtains rose up...slowly and stealthily...crawling up with the music, unveiling the thin swan. Clad in a white Indian attire stomping her foot on the dilapidated stage with the ghungru tied on her feet..synched with the high pitched commotion...she looked up; the swollen eyes with smudged kohl around the eyes spoke of the misery...and the stern expression engraved the dire need of her soul!
piyaa tu kahe rootha re...
she stepped forward and tapped her foot on the ground keeping up with the thump of the beats and made the classic mudra with those fingers dipped in the Red ALTA of auspiciousness..
piya tu kahe rootha re...nigoda jag jootha re...chali kos kos mai akeli...mose bujhi jaye na paheli...fir ha bani mori saheli..
Twirling in and out..stretching her tired body...she kept on tapping her foot on the ground getting flashes of the good times...the time which WAS and the twinkling ghunghru sweetened her damp shadow and the swollen eyes moistened again...
With flashes of him tracing her cheek...looking at her with the eyes-filled with love..the sparks of aggressiveness grew in her..dancing through the widespeard area...her eyes caught the Band she wore..the Louian feign..her eyebrows twitched up and she spinned her body and removed the now unearthly band and wedged away the memories of him making her wear that with swiftly ducking down and up..and sprinting around the lone big stage increasing the speed with which she thumped the ground..ghunghru creating the squeaky noise and adding to her rage filled with ache!!
The loud sound trespassed her and she spinned all around like a defunct soul..she kept on revolving in the skimpy area, with images of him catching her; escaping the fall and then the harsh way she hushed him...with a thud she fell down...crawling on her knees...she shut her eyes..and let the tears of yearning wash away the love-deprived ones.
Uplifting herself up...she stood up again.
mai jaagu sote sote jaise mohe lage badan mera tune hi ho mera chuaa..
Driving away the thoughts of him touching her...tying the dori of her choli..the moments it held..taking a handfull of the red color lying ahead..she traced her arms with the same..and felt the cold blood pass through her veins in a quick manner. Dancing through the tears she kept on thumping her feet aganist the ground as if punishing herself for her deeds...
Mai jo hu tori baat baat..chale sath sath...gehri ka dia...tu jo ghar aaye...daras dikhaye...garba mai tore lag jaye...
She moved her limbs gracefully, taking turns, twisting her petite frame back and forth..her tears kept on flowing remembering how she hugged him in fear..in dark...her home was what his arms were, his soft touch against her dainty flesh. His soft fingers used to touch her bare arms which now were stained...stained coz of her own karma as its said..she ran her fingers through her arms splattering the red color..and running the same through the draped cloth around her waist and spinning around with the music trying to escape from her past...the past she adored but left her all drained depicting the same with the red color spread all across her ensemble as if showing her stained figurine through it..
