He could feel the butterflies that now flew inside in his stomach, giving him goose bumps all over. He could feel his heart doing flip flops as he neared the door. Just one more step and the world will be his. With him. For him. Belonging to him.
The anticipations died along as he opened the door to see the sight that greeted him breaking all his dreams into small little pieces.
For once, he blinked twice to see if it was all but a mere nightmare. It took him a moment to take in the sight. It was the most painful sight he'd seen in his life after he himself burned his parents' lifeless bodies. He left a lump in his throat as his eyes started feeling the moist in his eyes. It was as if the whole burden of the earth was pushed against his heart. He clutched the side of the door to stand on his two feet.
He saw her squirm under his embrace as he kept pressing her against his chest. Arnav missed the sly smirk that played on his brother-in-laws lips. He missed the endless tears that wetted his suit, dropping down from her eyes. All he saw was his heart being broken into pieces till he one day realized he was not living at all. There was no sister, there was no brother-in-law. It was only his Khusi being hugged by another man
He didn't dare stand there to watch the scene anymore. He took long strides and locked himself in the room, till his Di called him downstairs.
The familiar churn that he'd used to feel quiet often whenever she was around died. The heart stopped beating. It was all over.

The goose bumps teased him as he once again by mistake opened the folder where the photos were kept. Her angelic smile that he once lived lay there beneath the screen greeting him. He'd used to smile whenever he saw them earlier. It was only tears he came across now. Maybe Khusi Kumari Gupta took his soul along with her as she went by.
She never called him once since that day. She never turned up to him for her childish demands. Those innocent brown eyes merely visited his dream, touching his soul each time. He'd suddenly start feeling hot as beads of sweat formed on his forehead. It was all so easy to think of the fact that getting Khusi out of the life will be good for his sister and apparently for him too. It seemed so right having said her all those hurtful words and the to think how they pierced her , and will leave her with no other chance other than to leave. It felt so relieved the next day when she left him saying she needed to look after her father's shop in Lucknow, and that now her sister is settled, she may rest in peace without worrying about her. It felt awfully right to think that she was finally not anymore in his life, to evoke all those emotions that once relived in Arnav Singh Raizada. He won, he forced them out within in a short time.
Within a day or two, he started feeling suffocated. The air never reached his needs. He'd open his mouth again to breathe the air but to no avail. His sugar lever dropped mysteriously, and no one found him skipping his medicines. The doctors said it was due to work pressure. He was told to take some rest. That made him worse. No one knew what he had been going though.

'Anjaliji is calling you,' she forgot her glee as she rubbed her cheek furiously to take the tear strains off them. She neither did plaster a smile on her lips. They refused to grace one. She was about to go back when someone held her by her arm furiously making her turn to him. Her eyes shot back as he looked upon her, the same cold distance eyes.
'What are you doing?' she hissed back. She'd have enough of these. As much as it hurt her to see him like that, she wasn't ready yet to take all of it what was thrown her way.
'You still need to know, eh?' he gripped her tighter as images of the cursed hug played in his mind. She whimpered , and bit back the tears. She'd be strong, for'her.
'You got no reason to behave like that with me Mr. Raizada.' He answered back.
'Shut.Up. Shut your bloody mouth up I say! I'd enough of your oh-so-innocent dramas. Couldn't you just ask for money if you needed it? What was the need to trap another guy just to fill the empty place Khusi? Wasn't I just enough for that? Why do you go all the way for this? Why so hell bent to make my sister's life a leaving hell when she's already been through so much?
'You know nothing,' she muttered as she closed her eyes , unable to take the venom that fired against those eyes.
'I bloody know all of it. Stop acting like you are being the scapegoat. And get yourself out of my life Khusi Kumari Gupta, I hate you!' with that he jerked her off him, and in no time she sprinted out of there unable to control the tears. It was the last time he'd ever met her.

The small card lay on his table as he clutched the broken glass in his hands. The blood oozed out slowly, the warm liquid slowly dropping on the glass topped table. He closed his eyes to see the most beautiful smiling face he'd ever seen. The most innocent eyes he'd ever watched. The most pure heart he'd ever came across. The only girl whom he'd given his soul too.
It was her wedding invitation, dated on 17th August, four days ago.
