As the announcement came to an end, everyone in the room began to panic. Payal literally jumped out of her seat, only to land in... Oh, no surprise, Aakash's arms. The girl sitting on my left started to bawl, and I looked at her in disgust. Her makeup ran down her face, and it looked like she was crying black tears. I joined my palms, closed my eyes and prayed, Hey Devi Maiyya, Hamari Raksha Karna. Kahin woh kaminey hamari kisi dost ko tho nahin khuch karega !?! I snapped out of it when I felt someone's stare on my neck. I looked out of the side of my eye, and felt my heart start to Dhak Dhak. He started to say something, but Mrs. Reyes burst in between us, causing me to squeeze my eyes shut and wait for the side of the unforgiving desk to hit me. But, it didn't.

I looked at her praying, and noticed how long her eyelashes were, and how plump her soft, pink lips were. Then my gaze traveled to her virgin neck, where I was sure no hickies had been placed. Just as well. I would be the first. I was glad, and felt fierce in a strange, possessive way. I saw her stiffen up and look at me through the corner of her eye, and tried not to laugh. This was unusual. I never laughed. I was the guy who stepped away when girls threw themselves at me. Then the idiotic blonde who was teaching the class ran in between us. I saw it in slow motion, the pucker form, the eyes shut, and her squaring her shoulders, as if that would make the pain of hitting the desk lessen. I reached out to grab her waist, and noted how perfectly her delicate waist fit into my huge hands. I felt her warm skin, and her navy blue blouse wasn't doing anything to help stop my fantasies. I imagined opening the buttons, and then shook my head. Who was this girl? Why did she have this much of a god d**n effect on me?

I slowly opened my eyes, and looked straight into his chocolate brown ones. I tried to pull away, but to no avail. His rock hard arm was around my waist, and for once, I made no effort to move. I usually hated it when guys tried to make moves on me, but he was somehow different. Nahin! My Dhak Dhak was back with a vengeance. I was sure he could hear it; otherwise why would he smirk in such an agonizingly perfect way?

Ms. Reyes had to interrupt at that moment, again.

The idiot that was supposed to be teaching, but up till then had been bawling, decided to impart some wisdom.

"Kids, we need to pair up. I'll choose the pairs. Payal, go with Aakash to see what the other classes are doing. I-I'm not so sure about the barricade. Arnav and Khushi, go down to the storeroom to get some food, water, and other supplies. Lily, go with the rest of the class to get the backpacks against one wall."

Hey Devi Maiyya! Hume inke saath jaana parega! Please humara yeh Dhak Dhak band kardena. Warna inko toh lagega ki hum heart patient yah khuch aur hai! I finished silently praying and looked at the perfect man standing next to me, who motioned for me to walk out first, a lopsided smirk on his face.

Yes! I get alone time with her! Maybe now I can kis- No! What the hell am I thinking? I don't even know her yet. What did Mrs. Reyes call her? Oh, right; Khushi... Well, Khushi, watch out, Arnav Singh Raizada is on the move. I smirked at her, and motioned for her to step out first.
