Hi everyone….. sorry again for the delay….. thodi busy thi…. But here's the next part.

Part 19

Shakti shut her bed room door….. turned around….. closed her eyes and rested her head against the door.

What the hell did just happen?... one moment I was mad at him and the next I was in his arms??... is there really nothing between Anjali and him….. he never lies…. But then I can't deny what I saw?... he said she forced herself on him…. oh Gosh!!... what am I to believe??... and the worst part…. Why did I allow him to get so close to me?!!

She walked to her bed….. laid down and buried her face in her pillow.

This shouldn't have happened…. I have to talk to him….. No wait….. I can't….. it's better we don't talk about what happened today….. never….. ever.

She groaned.

Then why can't I get his scent out of my head???... why do I still feel his touch tingling all over??... why can't I get that 'to die for body' out of my eyes….. this isn't right!!... he's my friend…. We don't want to complicate things….. should I confront him??... damn!!... I'm so confused….. no….. I'll wait…. Wait for him to say something…. Maybe then we can sort this out.

She sat up and checked her cell.

It had been almost an hour, he'd left….. why hasn't he called or messaged yet?... is he as confused as me??... I'm sure he would be regretting about the same... ahhh….. I'm getting a headache now….. I wish I could shut this stupid voice in my head.

She switched off the lights and tried to sleep….. well, try was all she could do…. Coz even she knew that sleep was out of question.

Next morning she woke up with an even worse headache…. She had hardly slept…. She had tossed and turned in bed all night and just at the break of dawn, her eyes gave way.

She checked her cell…. And was disappointed….. ek message toh kar sakta tha.

She got on with her usual routine but was cranky all day.

In the afternoon, she got a message from Palki maam, saying she wanted to meet her this evening at her office…. Shakti wondered what this was about and quickly texted her back, saying she would drop in at 8.

She just hoped she dint have to see him.

Amar was sure she would have taken a denial approach….. regression was always a girl's loom after such an occurrence….. and yes, Shakti was no different….. he purposely hadn't tried to get in touch with her….. if he had, she would have given him 100 reasons about why yesterday's incident was so totally inappropriate and why this should have never happened and why this should never happen again…. never….. ever.

And as far as he was concerned…. He had no regrets….. this was something, that should have happened a long time ago….. but then he dint have the courage to go ahead with his feelings….. his friendship was too precious for him and he dint want to lose her….. but lately he was certain that even she felt the same for him….. so why deny it?

At the sets he overheard someone saying that Shakti had come to see Palki maam at her office…. He frowned and wondered what was this all about.

He went to check on it himself.

Shakti was waiting for Palki maam in her cabin….. the door opened and maam came in.

Palki- hi Shakti….. I'm sorry to have made you wait dear…. I just had to see some last minute preparations for tomorrow's shoot.

Shakti- (smile) that's ok maam….. I understand.

Palki maam sat opposite her on her chair and smiled.

Palki- thanks

Shakti- so maam?... what is this meeting about?

Palki- oh yes….. I'll come straight to the point….. Shakti, I want you to come back as Kria Ghai.

Shakti was totally taken aback….. she stared at Palki maam, mouth hanging.

Palki- (laughs) I know you hadn't expected that….. but I really want you to come back…. Your fans are dying to see you again….. we could get you back at St. Louis….. I've already thought of your entry.

Shakti interrupted.

Shakti- waooo….. wait a minute maam….. I don't think I'm ready to come back.

Palki maam frowned.

Palki- but why?

Shakti- (Sigh) maam….. when I left, I broke many hearts….. I know you all always supported me a lot but at some level I had disappointed everyone….. I know the show had to suffer the consequences…. And in turn, you and the entire team had to face them….. I'm really very grateful to you for understanding my dream and let me move on….. but I can't let you all go through this all over again….. someday, I might have other commitments….. and again I would be the one to bring everything down….. maam, as you know, dance is my only passion and I would rather stick to what I do best….. I'm extremely sorry to disappoint you all over again maam.

She looked down, head hanging.

Palki maam was quite for some time…. But then she spoke.

Palki- yes Shakti, you may be right…. But I think you should still think about it….. I'm certain, you can manage the show as well as your dance….. you always did….. but I also don't want you to feel obliged and think you owe me anything and come back….. just think of this as a new job offer…. I know you have reached international standards and you will get a lot of job offers….. but if at all you decide to come back…. I want you to know….. that you'll always be welcomed here.

Shakti smiled and blinked back her tears….. she was so lucky to have such people around her….. her family….. her friends…… her coworkers…… everyone….. always understanding, always so caring, always supportive.

Amar was waiting outside Palki maam's cabin….. the watchman had told him that Shakti had been inside for quite some time now….. he paced outside the door, waiting for anyone to come out….. he heard the door open and he turned….. Shakti stepped out, closing the door behind her.

She saw him and stopped in her track…. Her eyes wide….. he smiled at her….. she smiled back and quickly looked away….. so he was right….. she was in a refutation mode….. he chuckled….. Girls are so predictable!!... but he was not going to make it so easy for her.

He stepped in front of her and she looked up at him and moved back….. he smiled.

Amar- hi

Shakti- hi

There was an awkward silence….. in which she looked everywhere but him….. he cleared his throat and asked.

Amar- yahan kaise?

Shakti frowned….. should I tell him??... no….. I haven't decided anything…… I better wait before I tell anyone about this offer….. she looked at him….. he was waiting for her to answer.

Shakti- ummm….. just…. Came to meet Palki maam…. It had been long since we got together to catch up. (smile)

Amar- oh

Amar frowned….. he wondered why come to maam's office to catch up?... they could have got together anywhere else…. Anyway, he thought he shouldn't question her more, she clearly wasn't ready to tell him….. he cursed himself….. the awkwardness due to yesterday's event was showing….. no wonder he'd never acted on his feelings before….. there was a silence again.

Palki maam's door opened and she came out.

Palki- oh good Shakti you haven't left yet….. I forgot to give you this.

She handed Shakti an invitation card.

Shakti- (confused) what's this maam?

Palki- that's my younger sister, Pankti's (Fictional Character) wedding invitation. (smile)

Shakti- (surprised) oh wow….. Pankti's getting married!!... that's great maam….. congratulations.

Palki- thanks dear….. the wedding is in two weeks and its in Jaipur…. You have to come.

Shakti- ohh….. Jaipur?

Palki- (laughs) yes….. her fianc is from Jaipur, so they decided to get married at his family palace.

Shakti- wow….. that's nice.

She opened the invitation card to have a look.

Shakti- but maam, this is for a whole week.

Palki- ya…. You'll have to come for the whole week….. i'm giving the entire D3 team an off to join me there….. and I want you also to be there for all the functions….. I hope you don't have any prior commitments already, do you?

Shakti thought for a minute…. She looked at Amar….. whole week?... with him?... he was waiting for her to reply too.

Shakti- ummm….. not really.

Amar sighed and smiled at her….. she looked away.

Palki- oh great…… then you have to come….. I don't want to hear a no now.

They laughed.

Palki- Amar, I want you to make sure she comes with you'll.

Amar- absolutely maam.

He looked at Shakti and smirked….. she rolled her eyes.

Shakti- ok maam….. I'll leave now….. thank you once again….. I'll see you soon.

Palki- bye dear.

She glanced once at Amar….. and left.

He was about to follow her when Palki maam called him.

Palki- Amar, I need to discuss about tomorrow's shoot….. could you come in?

Amar- yes maam.

He turned to watch Shakti but she was already gone…. He sighed... then he smiled…… one whole week with her!!... that is so perfect……and he walked in maam's cabin.
