Finally Shaks is back to home n love the sweet sisters bonding, they were too cute. 😍
That scene was really funny when all her neighbours came to meet her, poor gal they made her tired.😆

I was saying na ki kahin shock na ho jaye surprise n it happend with Kunwar who got a solid punch as welcome gift of Shaks.😲
How cute Shaks was concerned but i hate that Anjali, how many times she will interrupt them?.😡
Why does she show that much concern everytime when Kunwar doesn't need it n she interrupt them when he came personally to meet them.🤔

Part 16

Shakti reached the parking lot but just as she was getting in her car, someone grabbed her hand and shoved her back…. She hit his warm body and he steadied her with his hands on her shoulders.

Amar- (gruffly) where do you think you are going?

Shakti looked in his dark, intense eyes and gulped.

Shakti- (whisper) home?

It sounded more like a question than an answer.

Amar- mujhe mile bina?

Shakti lowered her lashes…. She pushed his chest, trying to get some distance between them…. Amar's grip on her shoulders tightened momentarily…. She looked up in his eyes…. he blinked and loosened his grip and moved back.

Amar- (mumbled) sorry

Shakti step close to him…. Placed her fingers on his face, tracing the outline of his bruise.

Shakti- I'm sorry for this.

Amar looked into her teary eyes…. his chest tightened…. He covered the gap between them and took her in his arms, holding her tight.

Amar- welcome back, Shaks.

Shakti- (whispered) I missed you.

Amar smiled and pulled back to look at her face…. He flicked her nose with his finger.

Amar- really?... par humesha toh phone ya chat pe mujhe pakkati reheti thi. (wink)

Shakti laughed and slapped his shoulder.

Amar- that reminds me…. Kabse yeh phone bills leke ghoom raha hun.

He dug his hand in his back pocket to remove it.

Shakti- (mouth hanging) I don't believe it!!... Kunwar, you are the pits!!... how insensitive of you…

He removed 3 Cadbury bars from his pocket and held it in front of her…. She giggled…. And snatched all three from his hand.

Amar- oye…. Ek toh mere liye chod de

Shakti- (laughed) Add these to your bills.

She hopped on the bonnet of her car…. Tore open one chocolate bar and took a bite of the bar…. Her eyes slid shut and she tilted her head back, humming approval as she chewed.

Shakti- hmmm

Amar smiled…. His eyes roaming her lush lips smudged with chocolate…. She licked the chocolate with the tip of her tongue…. a shot of desire ran through his body like a jolt of electricity that made him shudder…. He wanted to lean close and cover her lips with his, to lick the chocolate away and more…. he saw her open her eyes slowly and he quickly looked away, to compose himself.

Shakti handed him one bar.

Shakti- yeh lo….. tum bhi kya yaad rakhoge.

Amar rolled his eyes and she laughed at his expression…. And he smiled at her.

Amar- tumhare liye hi hai, sweetheart.

Her heart skipped a beat…. It always did when he used endearing words for her.

Shakti- (smile) thank you.

Amar- so?... yeh surprise kyun?... mujhe toh bata sakti thi.

Shakti- kyun mera aise aana acha nahi laga? (baby face)

Amar smiled and stepped close to her, reached up and traced her cheekbone with his finger.

Shakti's eyes widened…. she moved slightly away from his touch…. Amar blinked and quickly stepped back…. What the hell is wrong with me?... he shoved his hands in his pockets to make sure they don't go wandering back to her….. he cleared his throat.

Amar- aisi baat nahi hai…. bus agar mujhe pata hota toh aaj main maar nahi khata.

Shakti- (smiled sadly) I'm sorry…. Par mujhe kya pata tha ke yeh…

Amar- (laughs) arre Shaks tum toh serious ho gayi ya…. I was just kidding.

They smiled at each other…. Her phone beeped once…. She checked it.

Shakti- oh damn!!... I have to go.

Amar- what?... nooo…. why?

Shakti- meri Daadi aayi hai (Author's note- again my fictional character)…. she's pissed we dint inform her that I was coming back…. Mukti ka message tha…. Daadi ne ghar sur pe utha liya hai.

Amar- (laughs) wow…. Ab mujhe pata chala where does your bad temper come from….. and I think you deserve it for not telling us that you are coming.

Shakti- don't act smart, Kunwar…. Tum meri Daadi ko nahi jaante…. Woh toh sach main ek 'Daadi' hai.

Amar laughed harder.

Shakti glared at him…. got down from the bonnet of her car…. Held him by his collar and pulled him to the car door.

Shakti- fine…. You drive.

Amar- (confused) what?

Shakti- you are coming home with me…. It'll let you experience the taste of this medicine.

Amar held his hands up.

Amar- wowhhh…. Keep me out, girl…. You got into this mess yourself.

Shakti- (handing him her keys) Sit!! (glare)

He laughed….. took the keys from her hand and sat in the car…. after all, how dangerous could an old lady be?

She was biting her nails throughout the drive…. Amar looked at her and chuckled….. he offered her his hand.

Shakti- (confused) what?

Amar- I thought you would want more nails.

She slapped his hand away and he laughed.

Shakti- (mumbled) wait and watch, Mr. Macho.

Amar- so how come I've never met your Daadi before?

Shakti- you just be glad you haven't.

Amar raised his eyebrows…. Wow!!... This one I have to meet…. And chuckled softly.

Before he could even stop the car…. she opened the door and jumped out.

Shakti- hurry!!... let's go.

Amar- arre realx!!

He got out of the car and handed the watchman the keys to take care of it.

They reached her door and she closed her eyes and silently prayed…. He smiled and leaned against the door frame to admire her cute face.

The door flew open and Mukti stepped out.

Mukti- (at Shakti) oh thank god you are here!!... she's all yours.

She glanced at Amar…. Gave him a thumbs up and got in the elevator.

Amar looked at the closed elevator door and then at Shakti…. all confused.

Shakti took a deep breath and entered the house…. Amar followed her.

Just as she stepped in the hall, a flower vase came crashing at her feet…. She stopped in her track…. And Amar bumped into her back…. He held her shoulders to maintain his balance…. A frying pan flew in their direction and they both ducked to let it fly over their heads…. It smashed the door and Shakti fliched.

Amar looked up from behind Shakti…. He saw a tiny old lady with a set of utensils around her…. His eyes widened anticipating another blow from one of them….. Shakti started to move ahead but he held her hand…. She looked back at his panicked expression.

Amar- (whispered) nooo

His expression was priceless…. so amusing that she had to really control her laugh…. She held his hand and squeezed it, giving him the reassurance that it was ok…. He nodded…. But his eyes showed he still wasn't convinced.

Shakti moved towards her Daadi with a smile.

Shakti- hi Daadi…. How's my beautiful princess?

Her Daadi threw a steel glass at her which she tactfully caught it in both her hands…. Her grandmother's eyes were burning fire…. Shakti stepped closer with her hands ready to catch anything else thrown at her.

Shakti- mujh se baat bhi nahi karogi, jaan?

Her Daadi just grunted.

Shakti- toh mere saath fir dance kaun karega? (puppy face)

Her Daadi's expression softened…. She blinked and then a grin spread on her face…. She opened her arms for Shakti to come and hug her.

Shakti laughed and ran to her grandmother for a tight hug….. her Daadi kissed her, on her forehead and hugged her tightly.

Amar was still in a state of shock…. He dint know what just happened?... one moment the old lady was a Jwalamukhi and the next instant she was a cool cow, cooing over her baby granddaughter.

Somebody pat him on his shoulder…. He turned around, startled.

Kirti (laughs)- daro matt…. Yeh toh inka humesha ka natak hai…. you are safe…. Don't worry.

Amar still looked skeptical…. He looked back at Shakti who was now laughing and chatting with her Daadi.

Amar- (to Kirti) paani milega?

Kirti- (giggled) sure

And she went in the kitchen to get him some water.

Her Daadi looked up at him…. she frowned….. he gulped.

Daadi- (to Shakti) beta, yeh toh tumhara woh hero hai na?

Shakti looked at Amar and chuckled at his expression.

Shakti- ji Daadi…. Badi zid kar raha tha aapse milne ki…. Iss liye saath le aayi.

Her lips twitched and he glared at her.

Her grandmother came forward and stood in front of Amar.

He stepped back…. he looked past her at Shakti with pleading eyes…. She just silently chuckled.

Daadi lifted her hand to his face…. He shut his eyes tight and flinched back anticipating a slap…. But Daadi held his chin and moved his head from side to side and up-down…. He slowly opened his eyes look at her.

Daadi- tumhe toh chot lagi hai….. kahin koi marr peet toh nahi karke aa rahe ho?

He shook his head too stunned to reply.

Shakti- nahi Daadi, chota sa accident hua tha.

Daadi- jaao…. Isse haldi ka lep laga do.

Shakti- ji Daadi.

She looked at Amar's confused expression and indicated him to follow her with a flick of her head.

She took him to her room and shut the door.

She collapsed on the bed, laughing her head out….. rolling on the bed holding her tummy.

Amar just crossed his arms and stared at her with no expression on his face.

Amar- that…. That was not funny.

Shakti laughed harder till tears rolled down her eyes.

After a while she cooled down and sat up still holding her tummy.

Shakti- aahh!!... that hurts…. (giggled again).

Amar rolled his eyes….. he went and sat beside her on the bed…. he was so close…. she stopped laughing realizing how close they were and got up.

Shakti- I'll get the haldi lep.

And she hurried out of the room…. he smiled and lay down on her bed.

Shakti entered the room with the haldi bowl and saw that Amar was sound asleep…. She went and sat beside him…. she looked at his face and smiled….. Paagal fattu.

She leaned forward and touched his cheek…. he stirred in his sleep…. Her hands roamed to his forehead and then she creased his hair…. she dint realize how long she sat there gazing at him….. she blinked and shook her head.

She touched his shoulder and tried to wake him.

Shakti- Kunwar?

Kunwar- hmmm…. Keep going, shaks…. That feels really good.

Shakti's eyes widened and she removed her hand from his hair…. he was awake?!!... damn him!

She slapped his shoulder.

Shakti- utto…. Aur yeh laga lo.

Amar opened his eyes and smiled at her…. He sat up in front of her and got his face close to hers.

Amar- I'm all yours.

Shakti rolled her eyes and handed him the bowl…. Go to the mirror and apply it yourself.

He dint move and kept staring at her with a smirk.

She got irritated and took the bowl back…. She removed some with her fingers and started to apply it on the bruise…. He closed his eyes and flinched back.

Shakti- shit…. Sorry kunwar…. Does that hurt?

Amar- a little

She eased her pressure and rubbed the wound in a slow rhythmic manner…. His face was too close…. She could feel his breath on her face…. She shifted uneasily in her place and he opened his eyes to look at her…. They kept staring in each other's eyes for god knows how long.

Amar- (whispered) I should go.

Shakti- huh?

Amar smiled and she blinked…. She registered what he was saying and she looked away.

Shakti- (cleared her throat) ya ok…. I'm sure you know the way out.

She got up and went out of the room and he followed her out…. She went in the kitchen without looking back….. he smiled and went to the hall.

Daadi- thik ho?

Amar- ji Daadi…. Main chalta hun…. Thank you…. aapse mile ke khushi hui.

She smiled at him and lightly pat his cheek.

Daadi- apna dyan rahkna.

Amar- (smile) ji…. Namaste

And he left.

Shakti banged the haldi bowl in the kitchen sink and washed her hands….. stupid, idiot, gadha!!...why do I get so edgy when I'm around him…. argh!!... I just have to make a conscious effort to avoid those deep brown eyes…. they will drive me crazy one day.
