Chapter 11

Flash 1

Pia surrounded by strange huge creatures on one hand and wolves on the other with no way to escape out. All of them launch their attack on her when one figure jumped in between her and her attackers making everyone halt in their tracks.

Flash 2

Pia sees a guy fighting a fierce battle with some strange creatures. They attack him but she Pia twists her hand in their direction making them freeze on the spot.

Flash 3

Pia running through an unknown forest not knowing whom she is running from, herself or someone else, when she sees a calm and serene figure asking her to follow her. She feels calm in that unknown figure's presence and follows her. The figure takes her to the edge of the jungle just along the road which has a few shops and few sign boards one of which read Thakur Avenue 28. Pia is unable to recognize the place and asks the figure:"Where Am I?"

The Figure: That's exactly what you need to find Pia and reach this place. Because it's when you will reach here yourself will you get all the answers you have been seeking lately.

Flash 4

Pia parking her Porshe along a sign board reading Thakur Avenue 28 and entering deep into the forest following Abhay's scent and sees him fighting a strange inhuman battle with some strange hooded non-humans. They launch their attack on him, but Pia screams "STOP!!!"

Pia woke up with a start. She could see the pieces of the puzzle of her life finally falling into place. She now remembered why she had enrolled her name for Student Exchange Program in Dehradun. It was because the brochure had a picture of the road which seemed awfully familiar and she was desperate to reach that place as she felt that the mystery behind all her weird dreams lied in that place. This was why she had came to Dehradun, to seek her answers, but never in her wildest dreams had she thought that the truth will be so shocking and will shake her own world upside down.

Pia could see Abhay with his parents and her own Mom standing around her in a semi-circle waiting for her to come back to her senses. Pia could see the worry clearly written on their faces, but she was no longer sure how to react and whom to trust. Come to think of it, she did not want to trust even herself anymore. What was she? She did not even know that! How could she freeze those non-humans in mid-air and who the hell were they anyway and why were they attacking Abhay? And how was Abhay able to fight with them at such speed and strength? What was he? Pia could feel her world crumbling down. She did not know who was what, but at least she knew that no one around her was a human and neither was she! She did not know what to do, so she just mumbled out:"What Am I? What are you? What is happening around me?"

They knew that they can't hide the truth from her anymore. Not only has she seen too much to fool her, but her own powers too have now completely broken loose inside her. She was a ticking bomb now and any more playing around with her would set the bomb off and no body knew what destruction would that cause. It was best to tell her all that they could. Rose decided that it was best if she tells her the truth about herself and so she approached her, gently caressed her forehead and Pia just could not take it anymore and hugged her tightly. She was crying and in between her sobs, was asking: mom what's wrong with me? Why am I different? Please tell me mom. I am your daughter only na. And Aaliyah di's sister, then how come I only am freak. Why did this happen to me only?"

Rose: No Pia. It's not just you. Do you know that Aaliyah was 18 years old when you were born?

Pia: What are you saying Mom. How is that possible? Di is just 7 years older to me. She is just 25.

Rose: That's because she chose to stop aeging after your father's death so that she gets extra time to build this business empire and give you a comfortable life and yet be there for you as your friend. That is why she left us in USA alone on the pretext of building a business empire and studying side by side so that you won't notice that she is not aeging and then we conveniently told you that your sister started working at the young age of 10 only.

Pia: What do you mean by she chose to stop aeging! How can anyone age or not age at her will. No human can do that!!

Rose: No ordinary human can do that Pia. But you, Aaliyah are not what one would call as normal human as you both belong to a powerful lineage of witches or should I say you and Aaliyah belong to the lineage of the original witch Selene. You are her direct descendants and every alternate line inherits her wiccan powers to a large or small extent depending upon the situation in the super natural world. Your grand mother, i.e. my mother was a witch, so it was but obvious that you both will inherit the powers too.

Pia was shocked at this revelation: No this can't be true!! I cannot be a freak! I have no right to live or exist!

Rose(trying to calm Pia down): Pia, calm down. There's nothing wrong with you. You are just a little different, that's all! How can you say that you don't have a right to exist?

Pia: Because I am not a human! I am a witch! I am against God!

Rose: What rubbish is that!! The same God who made humans made you and me. The same God made other animals and plants on Earth. God did not create this world only for humans. Other creatures also have equal right to exist in this world. Whether they be normal humans or animals or creatures with special powers like us witches, like werewolves and like Abhay!

Rose words brought Pia to another shock waiting for her. What was Abhay? She knew that she loved him to the point of insanity, but what was he? She looked at Abhay with questioning eyes who knew that now it's his turn to speak the truth. Slowly he answered: I am a vampire Pia.

Pia had thought that nothing could have been more shocking than her own identity. But how wrong she was!! Her Abhay, whom she loved passionately, was a vampire!! A creature who feeds on others' blood for his own survival! No, this was not how she knew Abhay. She could not take the truths anymore and ran deep into the forests not knowing whom she was running from. From Abhay, her mom or her own self... She did not know.
