Part 21

Geet ran towards the car and rested her back on the bonnet.She was hyperventilating.

"Dhruv?!"

"What is he doing here?"

She felt her head swimming with these questions.Why did Dhruv have to come back?

She was happy without him and him!

Her mother's pain stilled stayed alive in her heart and she will never let anyone-ANYONE give her pain again.

Geet wiped her tears angrily as she dialled someone.

The person didn't pick the phone up.

She opened the door and sat on the front seat and sent a message saying,"Call me.Urgent!"

Geet didn't know when she was pulled into the past..

"Aahh!"she screamed seeing two half naked men in the wee hours of the morning IN HER ROOM!!

She closed her eyes and shrieked,"WEAR YOU GOD DAMN SHIRTS!!"

Maan and Dhruv looked at each other palely.

Maan gulped and asked Dhruv,"I mean..yesterday night..nothing wouldn't have happened between us nah?You wouldn't get pregnant,would you?"

Dhruv replied,"Seriously I don't know yaar..I don't remember how I landed up in my sister's room!"

"Chutki.."Dhruv began as he stood up from the bed and walked towards Geet.

Geet still had her eyes closed and hissed,"WEAR.YOUR.SHIRT.MR.DHRUV.TERRENCE.HANDA!"

Dhruv gulped.Whenever Geet used this tone,stressing every word,she meant what she said.

He wore his shirt that was lying on the floor.

Dhruv turned Geet to face him and told in a shaking voice,"Chutki,I wore it.Atleast now open your eyes"

Geet opened her eyes slowly and said to Dhruv,"Give your friend a new shirt from your wardrobe because he puked on his.I will give you exactly 8 minutes.After dressing up,meet me at the lawn-BOTH OF YOU"

Geet walked away leaving Maan and Dhruv shaking.

"Thank god,she went yaar!Such a lady dragon she is!I wonder how you put it up with her"Maan said as he helped himself fit into Dhruv's shirt.

"Shut up,dude.She may hear you.You don't know how powerful she is in this house!She RULES US yaar!"Dhruv said as he was combing his hair.

Maan noticed that there wasn't a single tint of jealousy in Dhruv's voice.Instead it had a tone of underlying pride and love for her.'

Maan buttoned his shirt and followed Dhruv to the lawn.

Geet was sitting with her legs crossed dressed in a red gown that was up to her knees.Her hair was tied up in a pony tail and neatly adorned with red butterfly clips.

Geet had also wore red butterfly crystal earrings that dangled in the sunlight.She wore a very simple gold chain with a heart shaped pendant.

Maan and Dhruv arrived to see Geet texting someone on her mobile phone.Maan nudged Dhruv to speak to her.

Dhruv cleared his throat and Geet looked up at him and Maan with their hands tied at the back.

She uncrossed her legs and stood up coming closer to them.

"Two 18 year old boys..Drinking rum at the party organised on the eve of my birthday..Spoiling my reputation..And above all,puking on my favourite carpet in MY ROOM..Anyone care to explain?"

Geet spoke circling the guys who were standing with their heads bowed down.

"Woh.."Dhruv began as Geet cut him off.

"Dhruv,you very well know that I do not give anyone second chances,don't you?"

"I know very well,,Geet"

"Good..So you and this new found friend of yours will be cleaning my bathroom today,you may leave"

"WHAT!!??!?!??"the men yelled at the top of their lungs.

Geet didn't care about their yell and walked inside the house.

She stopped and said,"You both have exactly 28 minutes.You may go!"

"Mohinder,trust me,Geet is your daughter,she's ours!I swear!"Rosella was telling her husband.

"I am sorry Rose..Geet exactly resembles you!Her eyes,her hair,everything!You may have slept with someone!"Mohinder declared as he pushed Rose away.

She fell on his knees,"Mohinder,we've already done the DNA test..Isn't it clear that geet is your own daughter?She is our daughter Mohinder-yours and mine!"

Mohinder jerked his leg and said,"Look Rose..I have accepted Geet long back!But who know?You could have really slept with another man..After all,you yourself told me that your father had two wives,didn't you?Maybe you've decided to have two husbands!"

Rose stood up and was about to slap Mohinder when they heard a shaky voice,"Daddy?"

Mohinder and Rose turned back to see their princess,Geet standing with tears flowing down her cheeks.It was evident that she' d heard the whole conversation.

Mohinder plastered a smile on his face and said,"Ah!My princess has woken up!Happy b'day doll!"and came towards Geet to hug her.

Geet raised a hand to signal the man to stop.Mohinder froze.

Geet went towards her mother and held her hand and pulled her to her father.

She looked at her father and said in a firm voice,"Mom and I do not need the support of a man who doesn't trust his own wife.I promise you dear father,Neither I nor mother will ever show our faces to you.Live happily!

"I will help mom send you a divorce notice as soon as possible"and left the Handa Haveli with her mother-not even turning back!

Geet was shaken from her past by the ringing of her phone.She attended it and a male voice on the other side said,"Geet?Are you okay?"

She didn't say anything but just whispered,"Dev"

"What's wrong Geet?Where are you?"Dev asked worried.

"Dhruv..Handa Haveli.."Geet said breaking down.

Dev gasped as he heard Geet mentioning the place where she had lost all her happiness.

"Geet..Am..Am coming there..Don't worry..Please stop crying Geet"Dev said constantly as he continued to soothe Geet's heart wrenching sobs.

After a while when Geet had calmed down,Dev said,"Are you sure you're okay?"

Geet nodded wiping her tears and said,"Yes I am.Don't come here.I am fine.Bye Dev.Thank you"

They hung up.

Geet looked ahead on the lonely road.She couldn't let her past haunt her-the betrayal.NEVER!

She looked determined as she opened the door and walked towards the house.

She would face her past with utmost bravery and courage because she did not want the wall she'd created around her to break this easily.

She didn't know when she reached the lawn-the same place where Dhruv and Maan had received orders from her to clean her bathroom.

She saw Dhruv and Maan sitting on the bench where she had sat exactly six years ago discussing paperwork.

Maan looked up at her and immediately stood up.

"Geet,what happened?Why did you run away like that/"He asked tensed.

Geet smiled and said,"I am fine Maan."

She turned towards Dhruv and said,"Mr.Handa,do you mind showing us around this Haveli?"
