Part 17

"GEET!!"he screamed.

The door flung open and Geet entered panicking "Maan what is wrong?"

He immediately hug her tight.

"Geet woh.."he said as he pointed to something in the insufficient light.

When Geet looked at the object which had scared him,she burst out laughing.

Barely had she started to laugh,the lights were on.

Maan felt himself getting lost in her laughter.

"Seriously MK..The great Maan Singh Khurana is afraid of a COCKROACH!!"she said as she fell into another fits of laughter.

Maan looked down in embarrassment.

Geet held his arm and said,"I knew that you were afraid of the dark!But cockroaches-No way!"

Maan looked at her.

Noone other that Rags knew that he was afraid of the dark-Arjun knew it too.

Wait!

Was Geet sent by Arjun-to destroy him?

He held her by the shoulder and asked roughly,"Who sent you here?"

Geet winced.

"You're hurting me!"she whispered.

"The hurt you're giving me now is nothing compared to yours!"he roared.

"Tell me,who sent you in here?To marry me?To trick me?To kill my siblings?To destroy KTP?Answer me damn it!"he yelled causing her to push him away.

"No one sent me to marry you Mister.No one did!"

"Meri galthi thi-To have married an absolute monster like you who doesn't care about anyone's feelings and just jumps to conclusions!"She spat out angrily.

No sooner had the words left her mouth-she regretted it-real bad!

She watched Maan's emotions-from anger to surprise,from surprise to pain and from pain to hurt.

"Maan..I.."she began but stopped when she heard him utter,"Stay away from me Geet!I can give you nothing but pain.You deserve someone better"

She broke inside.

He continued,"We have to get going.Vicky and Anvi will be waiting"

"Are you sure it is going to work?"Vicky asked as Annie set the table up.

"Of course Bhai!Just imagine!A candle light dinner,a party and then loads of romance!woww!!"Annie said excitedly.

Vicky shook his head.

The door bell sounded and Annie yelled,"Ravi,See who's there?"

Ravi,their butler nodded and went towards the door and Annie and Vicky saw Maan and Geet entering.

"Hey bhai!Hi bhabi!"Annie said as she rushed to give Geet a hug.

Vicky ignored Maan and said,"Welcome home Mrs.Khurana"

Geet smiled and said,"Some one is really angry with me Annie"

Maan could not take it anymore!

How could she remain so normal after saying those hurtful words at him.He excused himself and went into his study hoping to lock himself up –away from everyone.

The next morning Maan and Geet reached KTP in separate cars as Vicky offered to drop Geet in the office.

Maan was to make the announcement of his trip and to finalize the last colours for the panels.

When he entered he saw Sasha's team waiting for him-including Geet.

He sat on his chair and said,"i have decided to consider the suggestions of everyone-We may have light pink,light yellow,pale blue and light green.Any objections?"

All shook their heads for a no and Maan continued,"Good.I am leaving for Sydney this evening"

Geet's head shot up as soon as he told this.

Great!

He was leaving her-again.

She mentally scolded her big mouth.

Her eyes clouded with tears and saw Maan intently gazing at her expressions.

"And I am taking Miss.Saxena with me!"he declared shocking Geet further.

Well,Geet was his co-MD in the business and an executive head of the Electrical department whil Sasha was just an experienced Electrical engineer.She looked at Sasha who was lifting her protesting eyes to Maan.

"I can't take No for an answer Miss.Saxena.Well,let me inform you.We'll be staying at Mr.James Whorlton's place for a month."Maan said as a mischevious smile played on his lips.

Geet observed Sasha as she turned scarlet.

"Will you?"Maan asked as Sasha nodded and ran out of the room excusing herself while Maan chuckled.

Geet was puzzled.

Something was amiss-Maan knew something she did not know.But what was it?

Her thoughts were broken when Preeti and Jay nudged her to come out.

She nodded and went towards Maan.

"MK..I..I am terribly sorry for what I said yesterday..I did not mean to hurt you..I.."she trailed off her voice chocking.

Maan looked away from her face and said," You now know that I am afraid of the darkness and cockroach.I also think you've the right to know that I am afraid of a four-letter-word that can give you nothing but pain"

He walked away leaving Geet behind staring at his trailing form..
