God I love him so much. He rmembered. It was their anniversary... I'm speechless. I loved that. It was so beautiful. Omg.

1.Was Arnav actually speaking to Khushi or
2.was it Khushi's imagination or3.may be she could just read his mind.I just wish the third option is true because it would be better if Khushi understood his husband well without him speaking much. What ever it was it was really crazy and wonderful. Nice one eagerly waiting for the next update.
Part 6
Hey guys so here is part 6. Somebody requested a little recap to refresh your minds about the previous chapter, I thought it a good idea so I've included one (it's only the end bit though). Please do keep commenting, it gives me motivation to keep writing. Enjoy.
Recap -Khushi and Arnav return to Raizada Mansion
She was just about close the wardrobe when her eyes rested on a blue gift bag. Further observation led her to see that it was addressed "Khushi". Khushi's breath hitched as her shaking fingers reached for the bag. Inside she found a long rectangular wrapped box. Trying futilely to calm herself, her trembling fingers went to undo the ribbon. Opening the lid of the box, she gasped and her eyes immediately watered, tears threatening to spill from her tired eyes.
She started when she smelt his distinctive perfume creep up onto her. She felt her knees go weak as she heard the soft whisper in her ear of "Happy Anniversary."

Her head began to spin as her vision became obscured by disbelieving tears. Her mind frantically searched for some sort of coherent speech but she seemed choked, unable to utter a single syllable. She squeezed her eyes shut as warm silent tears streamed down her rosy cheeks...
Four years ago
Khushi walked into the pristine room, arms aching from carrying a box load of what she could have sworn was a truckload of bricks. She plonked the box awkwardly onto the king-sized bed, stumbling along the way. She sighed, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear that had managed to come free of her bun.
She took a moment to survey the room. It seemed so empty; Khushi had always felt that, ever since she had entered it, the evening of the biggest day of her life. The room was immaculate without a doubt, as fastidious as its owner. Yet glancing over the solitary bed, chair, wardrobe and then the bare walls, Khushi felt the space lacked finesse, a certain warmth. It lacked a feminine touch; a touch Khushi hadn't been able to make. She sighed as she realised she had been kept from stamping her mark on the place. In fact ever since she had entered the room she had never really felt it ever belonged to her. Everything was laid out exactly to the wishes of its true owner. Would she ever be able to make her mark?
As her heart sank, Khushi walked laboriously to the wardrobe, more specifically his part of the wardrobe to hang up a shirt. She ran her fingers over the orderly array of suits, jumpers and trousers, hovering a moment longer over a particular blue jumper. She smiled sadly. It was the jumper she had gifted him on his birthday, the 5th March. She took it out of its designated place in the corner of the wardrobe, together with the other seldom-worn items of clothing, and quickly dusted it down with her hand. She remembered how she had been at her wit's end trying to find a suitable present to give to her husband, something that would be apt for the kind of relationship they shared. It was the first time she was ever buying anything for a man, apart from her babuji of course, and found it quite a challenge. She had put far more thought into deciding than she wanted to, looking at a range of gifts, and eventually settled on this particular non-offending blue jumper. It wasn't anything special, just a typical and simple cotton blue jumper but he still had accepted it graciously. He'd only worn it once- that too for the best part of a few hours- probably to appease her but that had been enough to satisfy Khushi. The blue definitely suited him. In fact Khushi was grateful he'd even worn it at all, thinking about it now, it probably was not his usual style but at least he had made a slight effort to appreciate the only thing she had gifted him since their married life began. Khushi ran her hand over the material, sighing. And now here it was, collecting dust, just like everything else in their stagnant relationship.
Khushi shook her head. Now was not the time to dwell on these things, time was steadily passing by. She glanced at the clock.
"Hai Devi Maiya, it's already half three!" She only had three hours left.
She hurriedly shuffled over to the box on the bed. Picking up one of the contents of the box, a rather tattered photo album, she smiled to herself. Anjaliji had showed her this box of goodies today and for the first time she felt like she got a little insight into who her husband was. She grinned widely as she thought how she had gotten a little closer to him. Would he like this surprise? She hoped with all her might he did. She closed her eyes and mumbled a little prayer.
"Hai Devi Maiya, raksha karna."
Humming a little tune, she walked back to the wardrobe, realising she had left the door open. She was about to close the doors when something blue and gleaming caught her eye. She reached for the object curiously and identified it as a gift bag, the gleaming coming from the silver bow wrapped around it. Khushi's heart skipped a beat-could it be'? She grinned widely, her heart beating wildly in expectation. She turned the bag round and saw the tag. Her urgent fingers reached for it.
Her eyes immediately watered as her mind went blank. "La-lavanya'" she sputtered. Her whole body began to tremble and she felt her legs start to give way. She stumbled backwards onto the bed for support as she stared at the blue bag in disbelief. Tears began to stream.
"Khushi," came his concerned voice. She turned her head slowly to look at his shocked face and felt anger grip her. Wiping her tears, she quickly walked back over to the wardrobe, placed the bag back in its place, closed the wardrobe doors and walked out of the bedroom without another single glance at her husband

Present day
Khushi's eyes shot open as Arnav's worried voice broke through her memories.
"Are you alright?"
Khushi stared down at the bag in her trembling hands once again and then slowly turned around to meet the face of her husband. She could no longer believe how far they had come. Her brown teary eyes met his concerned ones and her heart skipped a beat at the love and care she found in them. She closed her eyes and began sobbing involuntarily. She felt Arnav cup her face.
"Khushi'what's wrong? Don't you like them? The bangles?" he asked urgently. The concern made her sob even more as she refused to open her eyes, contending with just simply shaking her head.
"Shh'" he pulled her against himself as stroked her hair. "So tell me what's wrong."
Khushi lifted her head tentatively and looked into her husband's searching eyes, feeling her eyes cloud with tears again. She whispered, "I wanted these'that time'I wanted these sooo badly."
She saw his eyes mirror the actions of her own. He simply squeezed her tightly against himself, leaving no room to breath. She barely heard him whisper regretfully "I'm sorry" against her hair. They stood like this for some time, clinging onto each other, Khushi sobbing silently into her husband's chest, until they were interrupted by the distant chorus of voices. Khushi's eyes snapped open instantaneously as worry gripped her. She pulled away from Arnav's hold. She quickly glanced up at his face before stuffing the bag back into the wardrobe and scurrying in the direction of the bathroom. She was stopped in her tracks however by Arnav's hold on her wrist.
"Khushi-"
"Arnavji please," she pleaded, her voice shaky.
Resigning he let go of his grasp. With one final brief look at her husband, she walked into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her.
