I can't think of the book at all so hopefully it's one I haven't read or I 'll be annoyed with myself.

I just love the amount of thought and detail you're putting into this FF, I can really get a feel for the time period its set in and I obviously love Khushi getting one over on Arnav but I bet he won't take it lying down. Although I would be very happy if he did take it lying down 😉

Hey there...

I loved loved loved the concept... It's so different and so beautiful... They way you have molded the characters from the show into someone from the time of the British Rule is worth a round of applause... They still are the same ones - Khushi and Arnav... Sure, the time and contexts have changed, but the way they behave remains the same!

You started with the falling-in-the-arms scene then the breaking-of-the-pearl-string incident... Lovely, I was as much engrossed with the scenes as I was when I saw the similar scenes in the show...

Putting everything in the times of British Rule mustn't been very easy... But you are a master at portraying every emotion so perfectly with the immaculate flow of sentences... Brilliant way of writing and hats off to your attentions to details... That has always kept me glued to the screen... And it's difficult to make my mind wander anywhere else after I have read your updates...

The historical references to the partition and the mature conversation about Jinnah's and Gandhi's differences of opinions described the reaction to that by the general public so perfectly, it made me travel back in time - as if I was really there in the1940s! The conversation highlighted the importance of wits and insightful thinking over religion, too good... Arnav's reaction was of course expected - and I was not surprised that he supported the British, because he was raised in that environment; made to think that British were the best thing happened to India... But his realization when Khushi made him remind that incident with some British females were heart-wrenching... Perfect portrayal of what Englishmen thought of Indians - even though they were as highly educated and capable as them...

I still haven't been able to correlate the plot with the title... But I'm sure the coming updates will make me believe that the concept was all about the forbidden evil since always..!

Thank you for coming up with this beautiful story... And sorry for not commenting earlier - I promise to be regular with the next parts...!!!

Hahahah! I'm so glad no one got offended! The readership for this FF is quite low and I'm glad in a way because this means that my warning in the beginning was taken seriously and people who find the subject matter too touchy have decided to stay away.

Now coming to the competition. Most of you couldn't guess but those who did said that the scene was taken from either "Train to Pakistan" or "Ice Candy Man." I'm sorry to say but both answers are wrong! I know everyone went on a literal tangent as far as scene selection went but I had stated that I just took the general idea. Now without further bak bak on my part let me reveal the scene and the book. The scene that was inspired was the conversation between the elders and how Arnav had his say turning everyone against him, it was inspired by the BBQ scene in the beginning of Margret Mitchell's Gone With The Wind where Rhett Butler was introduced in to Georgia cotton king society as a Yankee lover. The entire scene was so well written and Rhett made an epic and irreplaceable impression and place in my heart. That's exactly what I wanted to do for Arnav. Rhett was right about the North licking the Southerners backside and so is Arnav. They both have given a very arrogant and negative impression in the society they inhabit. They both fall in love with the feisty belle of the area. However Scarlet didn't love him back till it was too late. Will Khushi do the same? You'll just have to wait and find out!

Oh my god! That was absolutely beautiful!

I love the effect Arnav has on Khushi 😳

He's still cold-hearted with her as usual *sigh* but I don't mind, cause we still see some Arhi moments 😆

Poor Payal! Khushi teases her so much! But thank god she got Akash to understand how Payal feels about him. 😆 He was moving at the speed of a turtle.

They're only 16! Wow that is really young!

I kind of felt bad for Arnav at the end though. Poor guy, his family barely notices his presence, so of course he feels resentment toward Khushi.

Lovely update dear! Can't wait to read more!

Sometimes you make me feel sad for Arnav for everything he feels but can't express himself and sometimes you make me sad for Khushi - so mature yet so childish - kinda suffering at the hands of Laad Governor!

But I loveeed how both of them are aware of each other - the real ArHi magic is this!
