To say that Khushi was very very upset would be understating what she felt when she made her way to the front door of the Raizada Mansion that day. To say that she was livid, was more like it. She had tried talking to Shyam the night before about calling off the engagement from his end, since her family wouldn't hear any of it from her. But it seemed he too like the rest of the Guptas, was hell bent upon making her life a living hell. What was so difficult about it? Just call the damn thing off! But now, the slime ball wanted to marry her after all! After having assured her of no such designs a few days back, he had suddenly changed colours like a chameleon! Well something about him had always creeped her out.
Cursing him, and everybody else, she entered Shantivan, not answering a blushing OP's greetings, and continued to walk down the corridor, grumbling under her breath. And just when she thought that things couldn't get any worse, she collided into the other misgiving in her life.
"What the...", Arnav barked at having been knocked off balance by a sudden collision with the plague of his life. All the files and papers in his hand went flying into the air, as he looked angrily at the dishelved Khushi.
Khushi regained her balance, and as a sudden surge of anger enveloped her, coupling with the already upset mind set, she lashed out the man forth her
"Dekh ke nahi chal sakte kya!"
Arnav glared at the chit forth him. Had she finally lost her mind! Screaming at Arnav Singh Raizada like that!
"Yeh mera ghar hai! Mera jahan dil chahega, jaise dil chahega, waise chaloonga! Samjhi tum!", he bit back dangerously.
"Jaante hain ki yeh aapka ghar hai! Aur is ghar ke saath-saath aapko galti karne ka haq bhi muft mein milta hai! Lekin apni galti ke liye aapko maafi bhi maangni chahiye", she replied, her annoyance shooting past all humanely bearable levels.
Arnav gaped at the furious Khushi forth him. What was wrong with her? Did she really want to die that young! Talking to him! ASR like that! But before he could put her back in her place, she again miffed at him.
"Haan haan jaante-hain jaante-hain ki aap Arnav Singh Raizada hain! Lekin ek baat acchi tarah se sun lijiyega...hum bhi maafi nahi mangenge...Aur aapse to bilkul bhi nahi!", she glared at him.
Arnav glared back at her. Shocked at her impertinence.
"You..."
"HUM KYA! HAAN! HUM KYA!
KYA KAR LENGE AAP! AAP APNE AAP KO SAMAJHTE KYA HAIN JO ITNI AKAD DIKHATE HAIN!!
HUMARI ZINDAGI MEIN KISI BHI INSAAN KO CHAIN HI NAHI HAI!
JO DEKHO HAATH DHO KAR HUMARE PEECHE PADA HAI!
BAS, KHUSHI KUMARI GUPTA KO CHAIN KI SAANS NAHI LENE DENI HAI! HAI NA!
JEENA HARAM KAR DIYA HAI SAB NE HUMARA
EK TARAF AAP HAIN, JO HAR WAQT HUME PARESHAAN KARTE REHTE HAIN!
KHUSHI KUMARI GUPTA YEH! KHUSHI KUMARI GUPTA WOH!
AUR DOOSRI TARAF WOH CHIPKOO SHYAAM!
JO VEL-CROW KI TARAH HUMSE CHIPAK GAYE HAIN!
ITNA SAMJHAYA, KI HUME UNSE SHAADI NAHI KARNI HAI! LEKIN NAHI! HUM KUCH CHAHEN AUR WOH HO JAAYE, YE KAISE HO SAKTA HAI!
US AADMI PAR JAISE SHAADI KA BHOOT SAWAR HO GAYA HAI! ZABARDASTI HUMARE GALE KI GHANTI BANNE PAR TULA HUA HAI!
HUMNE EK BAAR KAHA SHAADI NAHI KARNI...DOOSRI BAAR KAHA SHAADI NAHI KARNI...TEESRI BAAR KAHA SHAADI NAHI KARNI!!!! LEEKIN USKI MOTI BUDHI MEIN TO JAISE BAAT GHUS KE HI NAHI DE RAHI! KEHTE HAIN... KI KHUSHI JI, AB HUM KAISE MANA KAR SAKTE HAIN AAPKI BUA JI KO..."Khushi spoke with distaste, mimicking Shyaam's sick sugar coated voice.
"...AND THAT BUA! OH! DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HER!
SHYAAM BABUA YEH...SHYAAM BABUA WOH! ARE AGAR ITNA HI PASAND HAI TO KHUD SHAADI KARLO NA SHYAAM BABUA SE! HUME KYUN FASA RAHI HO!"
and with that said, Khushi paused for breath, looking up at a shocked Arnav
