And, no one will want to wait for that long, since the quota is kinda completed already.😃

CHAPTER-37

" Geet, chicken ya prawn?" Pari asked again, but, Geet was way too lost in her thoughts.

They all sat at the restaurant ordering their lunch, but Geet couldn't bring herself to drink even a sip of water. And, Maan, on the other hand was no better. They were both busy trying to sort out their emotions and thoughts. Maan looked at her in concern, as Vicky repeated, " Bhabhi, what would you like to have? Chicken or prawn?"

Geet continued to fiddle with the fork, her eyes still lost, when Maan held her hand, and squeezed it lightly. She jerked back to senses immediately, and heard Maan say, " Chicken for both of us."

She stared at him, as he continued holding her hand. Looking all around the table, he saw everyone busy among themselves, and slowly, took Geet's hand under the table, and kissed it lightly. Geet immediately snapped her hand away, and looked at him crossly. Maan tried to hold her hand again, when she placed both her hands on the table in front of her, keeping them away from him.

Maan slowly leaned closer to her, and whispered, " Geet, Jaan.. please mujhse baat karo.. aapna gussa nikalo mujhpar..please!"

" Mere paas aapko bolne keliye kuch nahin hain…" Geet said in an icy voice, when Maan said," Aisa mat karo, Geet. Tum jaisa soch rahi ho waisa kuch bhi nahin hain. Main sirf tumse.."

" Bhabhi, aapko pata hain, ke party mein aaj kya announcement hone wala hain?" Vicky asked, causing Maan to clench his hands into tight fists under the table.

" Yeh isse bhi aabhi bolna tha kya? Geet ko kaise pata hoga? Ek toh yeh maan hi nahin rahi hain, upar se, mera aapna bhai is making things difficult." Maan thought furiously.

Geet leaned down slightly on the table, inclining away from Maan, and said, " Pata nahin.. Daadima aaj raat ko hi bol dengi."

" Maan Veerji, woh sauce pass karenge?" Naintara who was sitting in front of him across the table said, smiling sweetly at Maan, who scowled back at her.

" Tum khud le lo." He bit out in a low voice.

Naintara smirked and sighed, and leaned over to take the sauce. Her hand brushed Maan's which was resting on the table, and lingered for a second longer than necessary. Maan glared at her, and withdrew his hand immediately, only to see Geet staring at him coldly.

" Excuse me, I need to use the washroom." She muttered, and left the table swiftly.

As soon as she left, Maan started fidgeting, and mumbling an excuse of a phone call, and almost ran out. On reaching the array of washrooms, he saw the female labelled doors exactly opposite the male ones.Sighing loudly, he looked around for the last time, and pushed the female door open, closing it behind him.

As expected, he saw Geet leaning against the wash basin counter, tears streaming down her cheeks. She sobbed silently, rubbing off her tears as hard as she could, but more gushed out almost immediately. Maan stood there, feeling the guilt kill him from within, and started moving forward, when suddenly, Geet looked up, and saw him in the mirror.

" Aap yahaan kya kar rahe hain?" she said, wiping her tears.

" Jaan…." Maan started, walking towards her, when she said, " Maan, please don't make a scene. Sab log hain yahaan… I don't want them to think something is wrong.. Let's just go outside."

She started leaving, when Maan held her wrist, and pulled her behind, causing her back to rest firmly against his chest. She gasped, as Maan held her hands in his, and rested their tangled hands on her belly. He spoke in her ear, kissing it lightly, " Main janta hoon tum mujhse naraz ho, lekin don't be so cold to me…". He ran his nose along the length of her collarbone to her shoulder, and spoke against her skin," You have every right to be angry on me, lekin, mujhe aapni baat bolne ka ek maukha toh do, Geet." He whipped her around suddenly, catching her by surprise, and placed his hands on her waist softly.

" Main sirf tumse pyaar karta hoon, Geet.." he spoke roughly, holding her even more close to him.

" Kalko, agar aapko phirse aisa laga ke mujhe aapke paiso se pyaar hain, toh?" she said, looking at him tearfully, and put her hands on his chest. She pushed him away with all her might, and made her way out of the washroom. Maan stood there, hurt, and banged his fist on one of the nearby walls loudly.

" She is right. I hurt her in ways more than one…" he thought angrily.

As he walked towards their table, his mind full of Geet, everyone was already on their feet getting ready to leave. Geet stood in the middle of everyone, her eyes slightly swollen, but almost unnoticeable. She looked at everyone, but carefully avoided turning her eyes in the direction of Maan, who was looking at her only.

" Chaliye, lunch toh ho gaya…let's hit the malls now." Pari said chirpily, picking up her purse.

" Hain chalo.. pata nahin, kitne paise jayenge aaj!" Vicky said with a sigh, and was immediately slapped by Pari lightly on his cheek. Everyone started laughing, as they made their way out of the restaurant. Geet forced a smile on her face, as she got into the backseat of the car again, making Vicky sit in front with Maan this time. Maan looked at her sadly again, but she didn't raise her head to meet his gaze.

The drive was a quiet affair, with Pari, Vicky and Geet making slight talk. Whenever Maan tried to join, Geet stopped talking, so that, by the end, he went completely silent.

As they walked into the mall, the couples separated on their own ways. Meera, Geet and Maan were the only ones left, with Yash a few steps ahead of them. As they entered one of the shops, Meera became busy looking for clothes and trying them on, while Yash moved with her helping her choose. Geet walked down the huge alley of clothes, gazing at them without seeing anything. She ran her hands absent-mindedly on the hem of a magenta net saree, when she heard him whisper into her ears.

" It's nice. Do you like it?" she jumped slightly, being caught by surprise, and turned around to see Maan looking at her earnestly.

" Geet, yeh rang tum par bohut accha lage ga. It will be perfect for the party. Tum chaho toh…" she cut him short and said calmly, " I am not here to buy anything. Don't worry about me."

She started seeing some more sarees, when Maan came behind her again, and said, " Toh tum aaj raat ko kya pehno gi?"

Geet answered, without turning back," I have clothes back at the farmhouse. Ussi mein se kuch pehen lungi.."

Maan turned her around gently, and spoke in a low voice," Geet, sab kuch na kuch zaroor kharidenge… tum mera gussa khane aur kapro pe kyun nikaal rahi ho?"

Geet stared at him blankly, when he said, " Tumne thik se lunch bhi nahin kiya… aur yahaan bhi..itni naraz ho kya mujhse?"

" Maine kaha na, mujhe kuch nahin chahiye.. I am not used to so much luxury, Maan.." she bit out, looking straight into his eyes.

Maan held her hand, and whispered," Geet, tum woh paiso ki baat se gussa mat ho, please. Jaan, maine kabhi tumhe Naintara jaisa nahin samjha…main.."

" Geet, please help me put this on.." Meera called out from one end of the shop.

Geet snapped her hand away from Maan, and walked off to help Meera. She sighed loudly, as Meera dragged her to one of the trial rooms, and said, " Meera, kya problem hain?"

" Geet, I think this saree is going to look extremely fabulous on you. Why don't you try it on?" Meera said chirpily, thrusting a light pink saree in her hands.

Geet shook her head in protest, and said, " Mujhe nahin chahiye, why don't you try it on?"

" Geet, please, it'll look nice on you.. Please… for me…tab tak, main aapne liye kuch dekhti hoon." She left hurriedly, without giving Geet a chance to explain.

Geet stared at the saree in her hand, and shook her head. She walked into one of the trial rooms in a daze, and closed the door behind her. " Try kar leti hoon. Tab shayed Meera mera picha chor de."

As she placed the pallu over her shoulder, her eyes went on the mirror. The blouse was of a dark magenta colour, while the saree was a light shade of pink. She stared at herself for sometime, thinking about Maan, when she heard a knock on her door.

" Meera, I have tried it on, and I don't like it. Now, can I take it off?" she called out loudly.

Hearing no reply, she sighed irritatedly, and opened the door for Meera. Almost at once, Maan barged in, and locked the door behind him, leaning down on it slightly. Geet stared at him with wide eyes, as he ran his gaze all over her body lovingly. Finally, when he raised his eyes up to hers, she found her voice.

PRECAP: Aap aaye kyun? I didn't tell you to come with me..

Sab log yahaan aapne aapne paati yon ke saath aaye hain.. phir main tumhe akele kaise aane deta?

Are you sure that's the reason, Maan?

Okay, I hope everyone liked this update too...I know, maybe some of you are feeling angry on Geet, but just bear with me guys!😊
