chapter 2

Riddhima
I was staring at the basketball that made me think of the day i met him 3 yrs ago..no actually it had almost been 4 yrs since the day i 1st sat him on the basketball court.my son was irritated wen i didnt respond 2 him.
"momma wat r u thinking.plz lets entel da house n stop making dat stupid face."
I realised i hadnt been responding 2 him.i looked at him n smiled.i kneeled down infront of him.
"so momma is stupid hun?"
He shook his no when i tickled him.he clutched his stomach n started laughin.
"mo-mmaaa...plsss..i'll..wil nevel call u stupid again"
"really?"
"hmm."
I ruffled his hair n kissed his dimpled cheek n entered atul's house-well actually my jiju's house.as soon as i entered i rcvd a tight hug frm my di anjali.
"oops sorry ridz,actually i was so excited 2 c u so cldnt hold myself"
"its ok dii.hi jiju"
"hey mujhe jiju mat bulao han.jst call me atul.after all we r frens.(looking at arush)hey champ"
"hi atul uncle.whele is my gift"

I cld see my son flashing a million dollar smile.atul n arush had a very strong bond.dat love which arush deserved frm his father,he had been rcving it frm atul instead n i was grateful 2 him.

i had been fighting back my tears bt it managed 2 flow down.di patted my back n i gave her a weak smile.

I cld see the love n spark betn then.my di was lucky 2 hav atul who loved her unconditionally.c was 1 tough gal bt atul's love melted her.i looked at my son playing n laughing wid then.i cld picture a perfect family on dem.i cld have had a perfect family myself if only he had loved me.i cldnt fight back my tears n rushed 2wards the washroom.everytime i remembered him tears welled up in my eyes nd a 2nd doesnt pass by widout me missing him n crying.it feels as if he had taken away a part of me wid him making me empty inside.i washed my face n tried 2 cover my swollen eyes wid the compact bt i knew my di would catch me 4 sure.c understood me too well.as i came out of the washroom i cld hear dem wishpering bt only 1 word caught my attention-dat name,his name armaan.as soon as they saw me they stopped whispering.
"wat were u 2 talking abt,i heard armaan's name."
"no ridz nth.we were jst talking abt old days"
"dnt lie di.i understand u to well.jst tel me wat r u 2 hiding frm me?"
my di looked at atul questioning him n atul nodded wid approval.
"woh ridz actually armaan.."
"armaan what?"
my heart was frenzy.it was throbbing against my chest.after 3 yrs i was abt 2 know sth abt him.
"ridz armaan has returned"
i didnt know wat sld i feel.my heart n mind was filled wid mixed emotions.i was happy,sad,excited,tensed everything all at once.tears filled my eyes again..ya tears as if it didnt want 2 leave me alone nt even 4 a second.
Atul:"and.."
this 'and' again tortured me.there was more nd by looking at atul's expression i cld tell watever he was abt 2 say was nt gud.i prepared myself 4 watever it was.
Atul:"and he is getting engaged 2 som1 named shilpa"
I felt as if a big boulder jst crashed n my head.my head was twirling round n i felt as if som1 ripped my heart.i knew he had never loved me bt still hearing dat he was getting engaged 2 som1 else.picturing him wid som1 else shattered me beyond repair.
"aa-armaan is..is..getting en-gaged?"
