The next Morning

Vicky was checking the time in his watch constantly.It was past 8 and his sleeping beauty Anvesha was still not ready.He was hell angry.

What was the matter with her?

He decided to check on her and made his way towards her room.

He opened and entered the room and stopped in his tracks at what he saw..

Maan woke up as his alarm rang.He lazily got up and rubbed his eyes to check the time.

His eyes widened with shock as her realised the time to be past 8.

He had dozed off in his study itself.

He quickly dashed into his room.

Vicky slowly closed the door smiling to himself.

His heart had a strange sense of contentment when he saw Ann sleeping peacefully on his bhabi's lap.

He slowly closed the door behind and quickly called his friend Samrat to inform that he would not be able to come to college that day.

Geet woke up as she felt the intensity of the Sun's rays hit her face.

She tried to relax forgetting that Ann was sleeping peacefully on her lap.

She opened her eyes and slowly caressed Ann's hair.She smiled in her sleep and murmured,"bhabi I'm singing duet with my Shah Rukh...Dont disturb me"

Geet chuckled and said,"Acha ji!aaj school nahi jaana hai kya?"

Ann immediately sat up straight.

"Oh Shit!I forgot..OMG!!itna late hogaya?!"she literally screamed.

"koi baat nahi..You can take an off today."Geet said.

Ann nodded and was about to go to the washroom when her mobile beeped with a message.

Geet kissed Ann on her forehead and made her way towards Maan's room.

Maan was on his way to his room when he realised that he had left his mobile in his study.He sighed and retraced his steps towards the study.

He went inside his study and his mobile rang.

He frowned and took his mobile.His face glowed on seeing the caller ID.

"Hello?"he said.

"kaise hai yaar tu?"the voice on the other end said.

"mein theek hoon.tu kaise ho?ghar mein sab theek haina?"he enquired.

The person and he chatted for more than 25 minutes and finally he hung up and with a smile he made his way towards his room.

But his smile was instantly washed away when he saw the sight before him.

Vicky was trying hard to find out the flaw in the design but couldn't.

He wanted help from his brother but he knew he hated him.

Till date,Vicky had no idea why Maan hated him.Sometimes he and Ann would be chatting about their day and both of them would talk about how they craved for their brothers love..

Vicky sighed and took the photograph of him,Ann and Ragini taken on Ragini's wedding-a picture of him,Ann and Ragini...

He looked at the picture and said,"I wish bhai could have been in this picture"

Ann read the message which said

Ann was furious.This Vicky always taunted her.He very well knew she hated fairy tales and also the phrase which always said at the end of each story:And they lived happily ever after..

She wanted to do something that he would regret the whole of his life..She smirked thinking of her plan and made her way towards his room..

Geet was humming a tune when she saw Maan entering the room.

She turned to smile at him but was shocked at his horrified expression.

Maan felt tears cloud his vision.

Whenever he wanted to move on with life,why is his past haunting him?

Geet was dressed in a purple Anarkali with heavy work-the same dress Rags had worn on her 22^nd birthday..

It was January 18-Her birthday.

Every year she eagerly waited for her birthday for she knew Maan would do something every year to make her feel special..

But this year the case was different.

Her stupid Maanu had not even wished her!!!

"This time I'll never forgive him no matter how many teddys or chocolates or flowers he gives me"she said to herself..

She knew Maan had entered the room but she wanted to ignore him.

He came and stood beside her.Then he circled her looking from top to bottom.

She was confused.What was he doing.

"hmm..Rags!kya baat hai?aaj tum kuch zyada koobsurat dikh rahi ho?"he asked.

Rags felt so disappointed.Her Maan had forgotten her birthday.She felt tears gather in her eyes.

"kuch nahi..bas aise hi.."she said managing to smile.

"Oh Ok!!waise must say..You're looking rather pretty than usual"he said.

That was it!Here she was expecting his gift and he was playing hide and seek with her.

"tum samajhte kya ho apne aapko..hmm??Tum kya ek amnesia patient ho??apni Ragini ki janmadin bhul gaye tum...aur fir kehte hai,'Rags sorry swwetheart' ya 'I love u Rags'..."

She kept on blabbering that she didn't notice that he was lost in her bak-bak with a smile..

"bas...hogaya aapki baat maharani ji?"he asked while she turned her face away.

He came behind her and stood there putting his hand in his pocket.

She looked at him surprised at the turn of events.

He took out a box from his coat pocket and opened it to reveal a beautiful blue diamond pendant.

She turned her face away but soon gasped when she felt the cold metal make a contact with her skin.

"yesa kaisa hosaktha hai kya ki Maan apni Rags ki birthday bhool jaavunga?"he asked her standing up.

She immediately hugged him tight and then murmured with teary eyes,"I hate you"

"Oh!I love you too"he replied earning a playful smack on his shoulder..

PRESENT

Maan went towards her and shouted,"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WEARING?"

Geet was unable to reply to his question.She was wearing her favourite Anarkali-it was the last remainder of her mother.

"DONT U DARE WEAR THIS DRESS AGAIN.SAMJHI TUM?"He shouted again and made his way towards the washroom leaving behind a sad and confused Geet..
