She pat herself dry with the towel and wore her engagement dress.. She applied very little makeup.. and dark kajal in her eyes.. And then wore the jewelry and bangles.. And while covering her head with the beautiful embroided veil she looked herself in mirror.. And a blush crept her face while she gazed her own image in the mirror.. Her happiness was just reaching the sky heights today..

and then her bhabhi came to take her downstairs.. she was really nervous.. while descending the stairs.. she raised her head to search for Maan, oh now she knew his name.. she recalled the name in her mind.. "MAAN" and this caused her cheeks to blush profusely..

And she saw him standing among all the guests.. rest of the peple baceame the background and only one image came into the lime light.. and the way he was gazing her and staring her from top to bottom.. caused her to blush even more.. and when their eyes met.. they both lowered their gaze.. he out of mixed emotion of despise and desire and she out of shyness...

The engagement ceremony began and she saw Daadi asking her would be Dever for the engagement ring.. she was filled with anticipation that within few moments he will slip ring in her finger..and when he was about to put ring in her fingers.. she witnessed Dev kicked Maan's leg and the ring slipped from his hand.. Everyone started looking for the ring.. At first she thought his brother was playing some joke with them and the thought that she will be getting a friend in form of Dever made her chuckle.. but that smile was so shoet lived as in midst of all this when she saw Dev holding her hand and putting ring in her hand.. and then shouting that bro had already put the ring.. her world came upside down.. she looked at his face in horror and then stared at her hand.. looking at the ring.. she was shattered.. broken.. what was that.. if that was a joke.. she wanted to clear right there she do not like such jokes.. but could this be a joke...? why Maan is silent then..? the thing which was more heart wrenching was Maan wasn't objecting at all.. Then her brother Brij handed her the ring and she gaped at his face with thousand questions in her eyes.. but those eyes were cold.. like oblivious to whatever happened a few minutes ago.. her eyes started burning and before they started flowing .. she quickly slipped ring in his hand and lowered her face to let the tears escape without being noticed by anyone..
