Geet: "Haan Maan! Mera ateet!"
She had to let him know what happened in my past; what happened with me. Who was I before I met him and how lucky I am to have him in my life.
She began;
Geet: "Maan main aaj aapko hamari pehli mulaqat ke baare main batoongi. Aur mere ateet ke baare main bhi. Kyunki mera ateet aur hamara milna ek saath jode huye hai."
He held her hand; saying this he made her sit on the bed; sat besides her and entangled their fingers. He made her look straight into his eyes; and she obeyed!
She looked straight in his eyes; and she knew she has to let him know everything! Everything that happened between us! Everything that happened in my life; my past; everything. I have to let him about each and every time we collided; every single word we spoke to each other! Everything!
She started;
Geet: "Maan hamari pehli mulaqat; ek nadi main huyi thi. Main doob rahi thi aur aap mujhe bachane aaye the. Aapne mujhe paani se nikala aur mujhe kinare tak apne baahon main uthaker le gaye the. Aisi thi hamari mulaqat!"
"Aur uske 2 din baad meri shaadi huyi thi. Meri shaadi ke baad; sab kuch badal gaya?"
Maan: "Tumhari shaadi huyi thi? To tum meri biwi kaise ho sakti ho?" he asked all confused and plainly hurt!
She continued with tears in her eyes; her voice choking;
Geet: "Wo shaadi nahi thi Maan; wo dhong tha; ek dhokha tha Maan! Sirf ek naatak tha maan. Maine jis insane se shaadi ki thi; jise mere gharwaalon ne choona; wo mere saare jevar aur mere paise lekar bhaag gaya. Aur uske jaane ke baad; mujhe pata chala ki main pregnanat hu maan. Main toot chuki thi Maan; aur mere ghar waale chahte the ki main wo baccha giraoo. Aur agar maine aisa nahin kiya; to wo mujhe maarne ke liye taiiyar the."
Maan was trying not to cry hearing to her painful narration of her life; but a few tears escaped his eyes too. He wouldn't have believed her before what she said to him on that night of Teej! He could clearly read her eyes; and he knew what she was saying was the truth!
"Uske baad; hum firse mile the aap ko mujhse kuch papers sign karwane the; aur maine mana kiya tha. Aur usi din hamara bahut bada jhagda huya tha. Aur uske baad main behosh huyi thi. Aap mujhe ghar leke gaye the."
"Uske baad main Amritsar gayi thi; aur aap bhi the waha; usu waqt mujhe nayantara ne bataya tha ki woh shaadi jhooti thi. Aur phir maine tay kiya ki main apna baccha nahi gairaoongi. Maan uske baad; Brij veerji ne mujhe maarna chaha; aur hum mile the; uss mele mein. Wahan mujhe ye tabeez mile thi. Yeh wohi tabeez hai jo aap abhi pehen rahe hai. Maan yeh tabeez hamesha hame jodti aa rahi hai."
Maan: "Geet phir kya hua?"
Geet: "Maan phir main aapke paas aayi thi; raat ko Brij veerji ne mujhpe hamala kiya aur phir ek baar; maan aap aaye the; mujhe bachane ke liye! Aapne mujhe bachaya aur mera poora raat khyaal rakha. Aur mujhe ladhne ki taakat di; mujhse kaha ki main apne Brij veerji ke khilaaif police main jaaoo. Aur maine waisa hi kiya. Unhe police pakad ke le gayi."
"Aur phir maine tai kiya; ki main Delhi aaoongi. Kaam karoongi aur apne bacche ki parvarsih karoongi. Aur phir ek baar hum Embassy main takraaye the. Aur phir jhagda huya. Aur Babaji bhi ajjeb hai; aapke hi company main mujhe naukri di; wo bhi aapki secretary ki; aur mere paas aur koi chaara hi nahi tha. Maine naukri sweekar kar di. Uske baad hamare kayi aise kisse huye jahan maine aapko bahut tang kiya; aur phir uss raat party main; Shasha ne meri saari faadi thi aur aap aaye the; jacket leke aur mujhe le gaye the. Aur aapne mere aansoon paunche the. Usi din maine aapko khud ko soapan tha Maan!"
"Phir aap thoda kam gussa nikalne lage mujhpar; aur phir humne dhaabe main khaana khaya tha aur aapne hum ek doosre ki baahon main the; aur main rote ghar waapas gayi."
"Uske baad; hamare beech kisi baat pe jhagda huya aur maine naukeri chod di; aur phir Dadima ne mujhe naukri di. Main yahan outhouse main rehne lagi thi; jahan uss waqt aap bhi rehte the. Hum har baar milte aur jhagda karte; aur uss ke baad; main aapko Dargah main dhoondne aayi thi. Mujhe pata chala waha ki main aapse pyaar karti hoon. Par main aapse pyaar nahi kar sakti thi. Kyunki mere daaman ek daag laga tha."
Maan: "Bas Geet! Aur mujhse bardasht nahi hota tumhara eh dard. Mujhe nahi jaana ki hamare beech kya hua; kyunki mujhe tumhare bahut saare dard ko mehsoos karna hoga; mujhme itni taakat nahi hai Geet. Nahi hai taaqat ki main tumhe rote huye dekh saku. Mujhe kuch nahi jaana; aur agar yahi meri sazaa hai tum dukh deni ki to mujhe manjoor hai Geet! Bas; ab aur kuch mat kehna."
Maan: "Bas ek baat batana Geet. Wo insaan kaun hai. Main use chodoonga nahi."
Geet was now choking with fear. If I tell him that it's his won brother who did it; he will never believe me.
But I have to let him know. I have to tell him the truth. Whether he believes it or not.
Geet: "Maan mere saath jis insaan ne dhokha kiya wo aur koi nahi balki aapka chota bahi Dev hai." She said with fear instilled in her eyes as to what his reaction will be.
Maan was shocked to the core now. How can she just put the blame on my brother?
Maan: "Geet tum hosh main to ho; yeh kya keh rahi ho? Tumhara dimag kharab nahi huya hai na?"
Geet: "Main jaanti thi maan ki aap kabhi yakeen nahi karenge. Par aapne sach pooncha to maine bata diya. Aage aapki marzi hai."
And then just Dev enters;
Dev: "Bro Geet jo keh rahi hai wo sach hai. Maine hi dhoka diya use. Main aapko batana chahata tha lekin aapke gusse se darta tha."
Maan couldn't control his anger. He slapped Dev across his face;
Dev: "Bro main nahi jaanta tha ki jis ladki zindagi maine barbaad ki hai ek din wo aapki zindagi banegi."
Maan couldn't take it any longer. Nandini heard everything.
Then Maan punches him again; and he falls down. Maan holds his collar and pinning him to the wall; he slaps him again. Just then Geet enters and is in tears to see Maan beating Dev for her sake. She knows that Maan will never let that person move free who has done wrong with me.
Maan: "Tumhaari ek raat ki hawas ne ek zindagi barbaad kardi tumne; ek masson ko uske parivaar se alag kiya; aur tum mujhse poonch rahe ko maine kya galat kiya hai?"
"Tumhe yeh sab karte huye ek baar bhi sharam nahi aayi? Ek baar bhi Dadima ki seekh nahi yaad aayi?"
Holding him against the wall; he ordered Geet to call the police. Geet didn't move an inch when he yelled at her; his eyes seething anger; he ordered her again and she obeyed.
The police reach the house and arrest dev; and Maan tells him;
Maan: "Iss baar main dekhta hoon; tumhari anticipatory bail kaun karta hai? Kyunki jis biwi ke pallu ke peeche tum chupte the; wo to pehle hi waha hai; aur tumhari maa; jisne Dadima ko takleff pahonnchayi; wo bhi hai waha; Inspector; ise leke jaao."
Before Dev would be taken by the Police; Nandini stopped him; and slapped him hard across the face;
Nandini: "Tumne mujhe ek baar bhi tumhaare ateet ke baare main nahi bataya? Kyun Dev?"
"Aur Didi aapne bhi mujhe nahi bataya?"
Geet: "Wo Nandini mujhe laga ki Dev ne tumhe sab kuch bata diya hai."
And with that Dev is thrown out of the house; Nandini leaves the house; and Maaneet are back in their room.
Geet: ""Maan I am sorry."
Maan: "Kyun Geet? Tum kyun maafi maang rahi ho? Maafi to mujhe maangni chahiye na?"
But Geet had to tell him something else. She had fantastic news for him. She hugged him tightly and was planning a surprise for him. Gosh! She was so excited; the feelings; the emotions; everything. She was going to soon start a family with him; her husband. She wanted to sink in the emotion; let it fill in her body! The baby and baby; was all she cared now!
She was going to enter another phase of her life; she will experience mother hood.
Geet: "Maa banne ka ehsaas aapko kaise samjhau Maan? Woh mamta ke pal; woh khushi; wo pyaar ke pal; woh mamta bhara safar; ab se baccha paida hone tak; kaise samjhau aapko?"
"Woh saare dard; woh ulti pulti cheezien khaane ka man; woh ultiyaan; aapke saath bacche ki baatein; hamari zindagi badal jaayegi! Maan hum maa baap bannewaale hai!"
