Dadi: Maan! will you talk to Geet about the marriage?

While Maan is wondering what to reply to dadi, Geet's words "prepare the divorce papers. i will sign them" are echoing in his ears non stop.

Maan: ji dadima! i will talk to Geet

Maan realises what he just said. He wonders what he will talk to Geet about.

Maan: (st) yeh maine kya kardiya? except divorce whatelse is there between me and Geet to talk about? why i am complicating the problem?...what if dadima herself talks to Geet about the marriage? Geet will feel bad then

Dadi: Maan! yeh aap kya soch rahe hain?

Maan decides to tell half the truth to dadi

Maan: woh...dadima... Geet is not my fiancee

Dadi: (shocked) kya?

Maan: to tell the truth i don't have a fiancee at all

Dadi: but Maan! you told me na...

Maan: Pari...Geet...my fiancee everything was a lie

Dadi asks him unbelievably

Dadi: Maan bete! you lied to your dadima?

Maan: haan...i didn't want you to worry about my marriage. at the same time, i am not interested in marriage and i was worried about your health. sorry for lying to you but i didn't have any choice.

Dadi couldn't believe her ears. Tears gather in her eyes

Maan: i know what i did is wrong. but dadima! i didn't mean to hurt you...i just...

Dadi: bas...

Maan looks into dadi's eyes

Dadi: i don't want to talk about your lies. Now let me ask you something

Maan is wondering what dadi is going to ask

Dadi: what about Geet?

Maan: matlab?

Dadi: what about marrying Geet? i like her. i feel that she is the one...

Maan didn't know how to react

Maan: woh dadima...

Dadi: yes or no?

Maan: dadima! please try to understand. i just can't commit myself ...

Dadi: so your answer is No. Hai na?

Maan has lost his cool. He is annoyed that dadi is forcing him into something

Maan: we are not discussing about this matter anymore. Samje hai aap?

Without waiting for dadi's reply, Maan leaves the place

Dadi: (st) hey bhagavan! Why Maan is behaving like this? please put some sense into his brain. Waise why Dev lied to me that Geet is Maan's fiancee?

Geet is sitting in front of dressing table and lost in some thoughts

Geet: (st) why did i cry so much? Whom i cried for? What is happening to me?

Geet couldn't get answers for her questions

Geet: (st) am i giving too much importance to Maan and this marriage? why i couldn't stop thinking about him?

She tries to get back to her normal self

Geet: (st) Geet! you have nothing to do with Maan. it doesn't matter to you if he has a fiancee or not. this marriage is just a paper marriage and it doesn't have any meaning at all. You have to get back to your normal self. You have a lot more in life. your studies...your career...you should not let anyone to come between you and your studies.

She takes a deep breath and feels as if she has refound herself.

Finally Adi and Pinky's wedding proceedings are going on. Adi and Pinky are sitting before the Agni and the Pandit ji is chanting mantras.

Maan is sitting in the front row and observing the happenings. Without his knowledge his eyes start to search for Geet. he couldn't find her anywhere

Maan: (st) where is she? Dadima told me na..she was crying. Is she still crying?...what is wrong with this girl?

Maan curses himself for thinking too much about Geet and he tries to concentrate in the wedding

After few seconds...

Maan: (st) pagal ladki...she came for her friend's wedding. But donno...where the hell she has disappeared all of a sudden?

Maan thinks to ask dadi about Geet and then he drops the idea.

As the time passes, he becomes more restless

Maan: (st) has she left for Amritsar?...but how will she leave before the wedding?

Maan couldn't hold himself anymore. He gets up and goes in search of Geet

Maan: (st) btw...in which room she is staying?

Maan checks some rooms randomly. He couldn't find her anywhere. He is annoyed

Maan: (st)now why i am searching for her like a stupid?

He decides to get back to the wedding ceremony. When he is about to turn around to walk away, he hears the sound of someone knocking at a room door.

Maan: (st) where this sound is coming from?

Maan follows the sound and stops infront of the particular room. he notices that room is locked form outside and someone is knocking from inside.

Voice from inside, "please someone open the door...koi hai?"

His heart skips a beat

Maan: Geet!!!...who locked her inside?

Maan opens the door immediately. Geet didn't expect that Maan will open the door. she tries to avoid his gaze and looks down.

Maan: what were you doing inside the locked room?

Geet still looking down...

Maan: main tum se kuch pooch raha hun Geet?

Geet shows him a saree. Maan is confused

Maan: kya?

Geet: i was trying to wear this saree. Donno...who locked the door from outside.

Maan: May be some kids would have done it while playing.

Geet nodes

Maan: teek hai...jaldi change karkar aao

Maan turns to leave

Geet: suniye!

Maan: hmmm

Geet: can you send me someone who knows how to wear a saree?

Maan turns back and stares at her

Maan: don't you know how to wear?

Geet shakes her head for a 'NO'

Maan: then why should you wear a saree?

Geet: (shocked) did you just ask me an X rated question?

Maan rolls his eyes

Maan: why i am not surprised?

Geet: but you did ask me an X rated question

Maan: uff...Geet the genius...listen to me. i just tried to tell you that if you don't know how to wear a saree, you should try some other costume. Now please come out of the X world and get ready soon. don't you want to see your friend's wedding?

Geet: it is your dadima's order

Maan: what order?

Geet: i should wear saree

Maan: yeh dadima bhi na!! forget it. now go and wear whatever is comfortable to you

Geet: i can't disoppoint her

Maan is touched by Geet's words. so he decides to help her.

Maan: alright...now what do you want me to do?

Geet: send someone

Maan: teek hai. i will send NT. You wait here

Geet: hmmm

After walking for few feet, he thinks something and comes back to Geet

Geet: (confused) kya hua?

Maan: woh..i don't think that it is a good idea to ask for NT's help

Geet: kyun?

Maan: if i ask her to help you wear a saree, what will she think about us? NT is more dramatic than my dadima.

Geet: ab hum kya karenge?

Maan: can't you try to do it yourself?

Geet: i have already tried many times. It didn't work

Maan: what about one more time?

Geet: teek hai

Geet turns to go inside

Maan: suno

Geet: hmmm

Maan: all the best

Geet: thanks

Maan: jaldi wapas aao

Geet: hmmm

Maan turns to leave

Geet: wait

Maan: now what?

Geet: what if the kids lock the door again? Then how will i come out of the room?

Maan: teek hai...don't worry ... i will wait here. you go and get changed.

Geet: but i don't want to trouble you

Maan: you are not troubling me. ab jao

Geet: par...

Maan has lost his patience.

Maan: arey jao

He holds Geet by her shoulder; pushes her inside the room and locks the door from outside.

Geet (screams from inside): Are you there?

Maan (screams back): haan...main yahi hun...i am not going anywhere. Don't worry

Geet: pakka?

Maan: will you please wear that stupid saree and come out soon?

Geet: teek hai

Few minutes later...

Inside the room, Geet is still struggling with the saree. Maan is patiently standing outside the room. some random people who passes by the room, are giving Maan 'why is he standing here' kind of looks. In order to avoid any questions from them, Maan pretends to be searching for soemthing on the floor.

Maan: (st) yeh ladki mujhe kahan phas dhiya?

After those people have left, Maan bends over the the door, rests his forehead on it and whispers

Maan: Geet! are you done?

Geet: not yet

Maan: how long will it take?

Geet: no idea

Maan: tell me approximately

Geet: will you stop disturbing me? i am already having a hard time with this saree

Maan: i can't stand here for whole day. already people have started to give me weird looks. Make it fast

Geet: koshish karthi hu

Maan: koshish?

Geet: can't you keep quiet even for a second?

Maan rolls his eyes and goes silent

After 2 minutes...

Geet (screams from inside): Maan!

Maan: ab kya?

Geet: do you have a safety pin?

Maan: (annoyed) excuse me!!!!

Geet: please don't get angry. But now i am badly in need of a safety pin

Maan: search for it in the dressing table

Geet: i couldn't find it

Maan: what do you want me to do now?

Geet: ask someone

Maan: what are you thinking of yourself. huh?

Geet: teek hai... forget it...i will try to manage without it

Maan: are you sure?

Geet: what do you mean by 'are you sure'?

Maan: nothing

Geet: then keep quiet

Maan: (murmers) himmat tho dekho is ladki ko

Geet: did you say some thing?

Maan: (stammers) woh...kuch nahi

Afte few seconds...

Maan: (murmers) why on earth women are wearing saree?

Geet: did you ask something?

Maan: no Geet! i didn't ask any X rated question. Ab tum jaldi bahar aao

Geet: hmmm

Maan: (st) how will Geet look like in saree?

Maan couldn't believe what he just thought about

Maan: (st) Maan! tum sach much pagal hogaya kya? now stop your stupid thoughts

Finally, Geet knocks at the door from inside.

Maan: now what?

Geet: open the door

Maan opens the door. Geet is standing there looking extra gorgeous in saree. He couldn't take his eyes off her. Geet feels little bit uncomfortable by his look and she adjusts her saree. Maan comes out of the trance. He curses himself for staring at her to the extent of making her feel uncomfortable.

Maan: chalein?

Geet: main nahi aaungi

Maan: kyun?

Geet: in saree i am looking like a joker. people will make fun out of me. i am not coming

Maan: you are not looking that bad. waise...for the first timer...it is fine. Ab aajao

Geet: nahi

Maan: (sarcastically) you are not going to particiapate in a beauty pageant. Are you?

Geet: nahi

Maan: nahi na? ab aajo mere saath

Geet : but Maan...i am still scared that people will make fun out of me

Maan is irritated and feels like shouting at her. but dadi's words about Geet missing her parents comes to his mind. he calms down and softens his tone

Maan: dekho Geet! as long as i am with you, no one can do anything to you.

Geet's heart skips a beat. She looks into his eyes and tries to read them.

Maan: samji tum?

Geet nodes her head in reflex.

Maan holds her by her wrist protectively and walks her to the hall. Geet follows him silently with tears in her eyes.
