MG' Lambi Judaai Part 47

Geet started to walk towards Maan, and Maan was trying to avoid her gaze and tried to walk past her but he was stopped by Geets arm that was stretched out.

Maan: Geet, can you move out of my way?

Geet: Not without getting the answers to the questions that have been running through my mind since yesterday night!

Maan put up his mask and tried to reply with as much anger as possible.

Maan: I don't think I need to give you any answers!

Geet's heart broke one more time, she wasn't sure if her heart was even there now since it had broken into so many pieces, so many times.

Geet: Acha? You don't think you need to give me any answers?!! Really? Kyun? main koi khilona(toy) hoon, ke jab jee chaha khush kiya aur jab jee chaha dil ke chote chote tukre kar diye?!

Maan stood there unable to even say a word, the pain he had given to Geet was something he would never forgive himself for, and he deserved as much pain.

Geet started at Maan with hot tears flowing out of her eyes, she had told herself to remain strong yet she just couldn't hold back her tears, it was as if she had no control over them.

Geet: BOLO MAAN!!! Kyun kiya tumne aisa?! Why did you propose me in one moment and then reject me in the other moment?! WHY??!!!

Geet was now literally shouting on the top of her lungs, she had never raised her voice to anyone and specially not Maan.

Maan looked at Geet in utter shock, yes he was shocked, shocked by the volume of her voice, he had never in his 19 years heard Geet ever raise her voice. He recovered from his shock when her words registered in his brain, what was he supposed to say to those questions, he couldn't tell her the actual reason. He had to think of something and fast.

Maan: IT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!!

Maans voice echoed through the room and then came an eerie silence. Geet had absolutely no reaction, she just stood there completely numb. His voice was still ringing in her ears.

Maan had said that In impulse, with no other reply he had just blurted out anything, but now looking at Geets face he regretted in so much.

Geet shook her head' No you can't fall weak Geet!

Geet: What do you mean by a mistake?

Maan: Geet I mean what I said, you don't mean anything in front of my dreams, I admit the moments we had together were amazing, the kisses we shared and everything else, but Geet, I don't even know why I proposed to you, maybe I was drunk or'

Before Maan could even complete his sentence, he felt a tight slap on his face. He looked up at Geet and saw only anger and pain in her eyes, but no tears.

Geet: I feel so disgusted by you Maan, tumse ye umeed nahin thi mujhe but how can I forget you are the GREAT MAAN SINGH KHURANA, why would you give a damn about anyones feeling?!!!!

Maan felt like asking Geet to slap him again, he deserved more than just one slap.

Maan: Geet, ab toh samajh gayi ho' acha hoga ke tum India waapis chali jao or maybe find a new place to live, I can't let you come in between my dreams any more.

Geet: After all this if you think I am going to stay with you, then you can very well just kick yourself in the backside' I never want to see you face again!!! Good bye Maan.

Maan felt like evaporating into thin air, he didn't want to exist in this world anymore, he just wasn't worth it! As he saw Geet walk away from himself he felt like the worlds weakest man, he felt so helpless, as much as he wanted to stop her he just couldn't.

Before walking out of the room Geet looked back one last time. And spoke with a pained look.

Geet: Maan, I don't know if I'll ever be able to stop loving you but there is one thing for sure I will not ever forgive you

Maan looked away unable to see the hurt and pain on geet's face anymore. He wasn't sure if he would be able to put up his act any longer. He waited for the door to close and then when he heard it close with a bang he turned back, thinking of the promise he had kept.

Flashback

Maan opened the door and was shocked to see the person that stood on his doorstep.

Maan: Tum? Yahan?!

Brij looked at Maan with arrogance and attitude and replied.

Brij: Haan main.

Maan: Umm andar aao na, araam se baat karte hain.

Brij chuckled: Main yahan tumse gape larane nahin aya, Geet ko apne saath India waapis lene aya hoon.

On hearing that Maan got a little angry.

Maan: Kyun?!

Brij: Oyee, zyaada ghussa dekhane ki koi zuroorat nahin samjhe.

Maan calmed himself down reminding himself that Brij was Geets cousin brother and he couldn't behave badly.

Maan: Brij, baat kya hai?

Brij: Daarji ki tabiyat achanak kharab hogayi hai, aur who chahte hai ke woh eik baar Geet se mil lein.

Maan had always respected Darji, one because he was Geets grandfather and two he was elder to him. And he was genuinely concerned about Darji's health.

Maan: Kya hua unhe?

Brij: Unhe heart attack aya tha. Aur woh keh rahe hain ke shayad who zyaada time shayad time nahin zinda reh paaynge.

Maan: What are you saying? Doctors ko dikhaya?

Brij was now becoming impatient by the constant questioning.

Brij: Dekho Maan maine pehle bhi kaha main yahan baatein karne nahin aya hoon. Don't waste my time!

Maan could feel his temper rising again but tried his level best to control it.

Brij: Aur haan! Once geet comes to India she cannot come back here, Darji's last wish is to see her married to one of his friend's grandson, and I don't think you would want a dying mans last wish to be unfulfilled would you?

Maan looked at Brij in shock, what the hell?! Geet marrying someone else, that was not possible!!

Maan: what the hell are you saying? How can Geet Marry someone else?

Brij looked at Maan with a raised eyebrow.

Brij: Oh really? Why can't she? And what do you mean by "someone else"?

Maan: I love her' and I can't let her marry anyone else!!

Brij: You will have to sacrifice your love! Think about it Maan what would Geet think of you if she found out that you became selfish and didn't let her grandfather's last wish come true?

Maan thought about this and he couldn't believe what a situation he was put in' one side was his love but then on the other side was Geets grandfather's last wish and her emotions attached to him. No he couldn't be selfish.

Maan: I know Geet won't agree to this.

Brij knew she wouldn't but that was not his problem, it was now Maans problem he thought.

Brij: You will have to make her somehow' and it's for you decide how you will do that. But you have to promise to send her if you really care for her and respect a dying man's wish.

Maan closed his eyes, all of sudden all her memories came rushing in his mind' moments of them together, and then he moments he had seen she had with Darji.

He opened his eyes with determination and replied: I promise!

End of Flashback

Maan opened his eyes and could feel tears fall down his cheek. He had sacrificed his love by making her hate him, to fulfil Darji's last wish, but now he just didn't know if he could live with this pain in his heart for the rest of his life. In a few weeks Geet would be getting engaged to someone else, she would eventually get over the pain, but what about him, what would he do' he knew he had no place for anyone else in his heart or life, that place was only for Geet and if Geet couldn't be in that place then no one could.
