Part 10 :
The newly married couple entered their room and as soon as they did Nupur pulled Mayank towards the dressing table mirror and placed his hand around her waist while they both faced the mirror. She mechanically made him smile leaning sideways to him and smiled to him through the mirror.
Mayank asked wondering, "Nupur what exactly are you doing?"
Nupur talked to him through the mirror excitedly, "Arrey, am just trying to see US as a married couple. The whole world got this opportunity, how can WE miss that out!"
Mayank shook his head to her and talked through mirror too, ?"So what's your verdict then?"
Nupur repeated one of her aunt's words on their reception in her style, inquisitively, "Words out that Sharma House has been lucky to get the most Handsome couple in town?"raising her eye brows.
Then holding his cheek like his aunt did, she continue, "The Handsome!" and pulling her on cheek she winked and said, "The Beautiful!"
Both of them burst out laughing at Nupur's acting while Mayank moved ahead to back hug Nupur , while both still talked through the mirror when Mayank pulled one of her cheeks and said, "Waise even I agree to her" and winked back and closing his eyes he remained in the same position hugging her tightly and Nupur took a deep breath of relief for the fact that finally this was all real. She kept looking at his calmly contented face, still through the mirror.
She finally moved her face more closer to his and caressing his cheeks with hers she said, "Aren't you tired? Its been such a huge and hectic day?"
Mayank opened his eyes slowly not wanting to come out of his self called trance and said, "How do you get tired on such an important day of your life? Correction My Lady, It was an eventful day! If I may repeat your words then – This is the day to LIVE fully, isn't it?"
Nupur smiled at him. Besides, he was right, she wasn't tired. It was the start of their life together and these moments called out to stay right here as long as it pleased them. Life suddenly seemed forever and marvelously beautiful.
She replied back, "Yup, lets live it the way we always wanted to"
Mayank asked turning her in his arms and asked a little mischievously, wandering his eyes in hers, "So how do you want to start it with?"
Nupur understood exactly what he meant and flicking his nose with hers she said, "Umm, lets celebrate!" and smiled.
Mayank looked confused and asked it even more confusedly, "Celebrate? How?"
Nupur giggled at his reaction and pulled him towards the balcony. Splitting its door open, she asked him to take the chair and went in to bring something kept on the side table.
She brought the cake out which read, 'Life's life NOW' and bringing out two glasses of cocktails, she said, "Cheers!"
Mayank clinked the glass with her and was perplexed to limits with Nupur's arrangement in his own room, no their room now. He asked, "Nupur, what is all this about? Wasn't our reception a celebration?"
Nupur smiled and said, "I always wanted to do this" and giggling added, "The way you wanted a dance on Our Sangeet" and added still, "Otherwise, I wouldn't have taken the pain to convince your Mom to do all this when she was still not even convinced about me"
Mayank took her hands in his and said, "Thank you! And you know her right. She'll be just fine" Though these words of hers brought out some emotion in him regarding his Mom and Nupur's equation and his and his Mom's too.
Nupur smiled getting assured and said, "So Mr. Husband, shall we cut the cake?"
Mayank shook his head at Nupur's idea still and still holding her hand, he reached out their hands to fetch the knife on the table followed by the cake. Cutting out a large piece and sharing it with her he said, "Nupur, its yummy. Now I realize why I love you. You have such great taste in food"
Nupur replied back curtly,"Thanks!"
Mayank smirked at her reaction and putting some cake on her cheeks he helped her to get rid of it himself wiping it of in soft bites while she blushed and tried to push him away pretending.
Mayank replied back, "This was one of my lakhs of reasons, by the way" and wiped off the cake from the corner of her lips by his fingers and the way he said that, he took the cake in the literal meaning of the sense.
Nupur realized how easily Mayank was making all her dreams successful by just being in it.
She went up to Mayank and sitting at the corner of his hand rest she felt the need to confess again, "Mayank, I Love You!"
Her eyes tried hard to package all her emotions in them and he read it just right.
He replied back, "I Love You too, My Wife!" and made her smile in-spite of the tears of happiness in her eyes.
He couldn't get enough of the twinkle in her eyes.
Picking her up from the hand-rest and took her inside while he said, "I have a gift for you. I thought it can wait till tomorrow but now that you are in such a mood – Umm lemme get it" and making her stand on her own, he started to move towards his cupboard while Nupur pulled back the doors of the balcony as she had started to feel the cold of the night.
Mayank came in with a small packet in his hand and presented it to Nupur when she took it and kept it aside on a thought and said, "You know what? It can actually wait for tomorrow" and half hugging him she stayed closer to him and looked deep in his eyes. She wanted that look back in them, the way he was looking at her only a while ago in balcony. No gift was more appealing to look at than his deep brown eyes, she realized feeling bright inside.
Mayank was again witnessing her varied range of moods and emotions today. But he was getting used to it now and understood her too, that she wanted to make the most of the moment today. The glances that they shared was something what ethereal felt like.
Pulling her closer, he leaned in to kiss her and she kissed him back like never before. He parted her lips with his and kissed her deep while she responded back almost immediately while he took her breath away.
When he pulled back, he looked at his new bride trying hard not to be shy but failing heavily to do so with his intense gaze, a bit with tease. He pulled her face near, to make her eyes face his.
He smiled as she tried to suppress her shyness and moved closer o him more. He gave her an appreciative smile and moved back when she moved ahead to kiss him. She was left gaping at him at his retreating action. Mayank gave a soft laugh at her reactions and fulfilled her wish himself, kissing her.
With passion and love binding their hearts, they gave in to each other completely.
