Thank you, Naddiya! Yea, I was meaning to make him break up with Lavanya. Unlike our dear CVs, I don't want to make Arnav a creepy character who is having the hots for another girl while having a live in girlfriend too!

Haha I know. Everyone seems to be liking the break up. I'm liking it too. I want him to be a normal guy who realizes he cannot have the hots for Khushi while having Lavanya as a GF! Glad you enjoyed it!

I'm glad he broke up with Lavanya, it didn't seem like much of a relationship to begin with.
The last scene was really sweet. She told him off with so much authority and right, and he went against his own nature and actually listened and followed.

Amazingness👍🏼….i luv dis story. Its so believable.if dis had happened in IPKKND originally den video sharin sites wud have been as necessary as water….bt as dats just nt happenin wen ever Im free im readin ur FF again n again👏…n da bst part is dat dis Arnav speaks😉…with da real verison ASR its lyk u'll have to beg n bribe him to say a para in an episode…in da ff dey're soo funny as if some part of Khushi personality trades hve been transferd to Arnav…dere conversations r so real n Arnav's reffernce to hr dupatta n hr fallin everytym hes around …god will da mighty Asr ever say dis on da show😳…n khushi always sittin on his chair n hes nt even complainin …n dere retrotin counterarguements😆…its so easy to imagine em talkin lyk dis …n how red hot da jealously is.we've seen Khushi getting all tensed up wen she saw Arnav breakin La's fast 😡bt here shes more verbral n Arjun is doin da same to Arnav.. I lyk dis addition…n da sexual tension as thick in de air to be cut by a knife..hope to read more naughty thouts😳😳…ur a quintessential ff writer..i don't gt much tym ( a combination of busy n lazy) bt wen ever im free dere just dese 2-3 ppl includin u I luv readin..thankyou sooo much for dis diffferent side of story…da original one is takin too much tym to take off…I hope hum sabke sabr ka fal meetha ho…thankyou once again n plezzz keep doin dis greaaat work.😊

~Part 14~

Arnav and Khushi are in the car on their way to work when Khushi says "Lavanya mam office nahi aayengi?"

Arnav looks at her for a second and then says "Tumhe kaafi fikar rehti hai Lavanya ki aaj kal."

"Nahi woh humne socha ki woh humaare saath kaam par aayengi."

"Woh kal se kaam pe aayegi."

"Unki tabiyat theek hai? Woh khaana khaane bhi nahi aayi."

"Woh apne ghar pe khaana kha legi."

"Apne ghar pe? Lekin toh aapke ghar pe hai."

"Thi. Usko abhi lunch ke pehle uske ghar chodke aaya mai."

"Oh" said Khushi althought she wanted to ask more. Arnav, too, refused to say anything further. They drove the rest of the distance in silence as Khushi was trying to convince herself taht she didn't care about what happened with Lavanya and Arnav refused to offer any information until she asked.

Once inside office, they see Arjun seated in Arnav's cabin. He sees them too and calls out "Hey Arnav, I hope you didn't mind that I'm using your cabin. I'll just come down."

"Of course I didn't mind. Why don't you stay put - I'm coming right up," says Arnav and starts walking towards his cabin.

"Arnav Sir" calls out Khushi and he turns around. She continues "Sir, aapne hume bataaya nahi ki hume kya kaam karna hai? Hum subah se bas staff ki madad kar rahe hai kuch cheezo mei. Agar kuch kaam hai toh..?"

"Oh haan. Mai Arjun ke saath thoda busy ho gaya tha. Launch ke baare mei jo official press statements dene hai woh mere paas hai. Tum zara usko compile karo. Just categorize it by media and the name of the channel or paper. Shaam ko nikalne se pehle mai usko dispatch kar dunga. Files mai abhi bhijva deta hu neeche."

"Hum aapke saath aake abhi collect kar lete hai."

"Uski zarurat nahi hai. Mujhe dhundna padega pehle. Phir bhijva dunga" says Arnav and goes upstairs.

He enters the cabin and starts putting the files together. He tells Arjun "Arjun just give me a minute, I'll just send these files to Khushi and then we can start" and calls for the peon.

"Give those to me. I was just going to down to grab something to drink. I'll leave them with her" said Arjun and held out his hand for the files. Arnav had no option, but to give them to him reluctantly.

Arjun went downstairs to Khushi's desk with the files and said "Miss Gupta, aapke boss ne ye aapko dene ke liye diya hai."

"Ji shukriya" smiled Khushi.

Arjun nods and says "Toh lunch kaisa raha?"

"Ji?"

"Matlab aap Anjali ke saath khaane pe gayi thi na? Oh wait, I forgot that Arnav said that you stay with him?"

"Ji woh.. Matlab hum unke ghar pe rehte hai."

"Oh achcha. Aap unke family ko pehle se jaanti hai?"

"Darassal Arjun ji, humaari Buaji aur Jiji yahi Delhi mei the humaare saath. Woh abhi Lucknow gayi hai kuch zaroori kaam se. Hume launch ke liye akele rukna pada toh Arnav Sir ne kahaa ki hum unke ghar pe reh sakte hai. Anjali ji ko toh vaise hum jaante bhi hai."

"Oh that was very nice of Arnav. Woh apne khoobiyo ko achche se chupaake rakhta hai. By the way, jiss tarah woh bola ki aap uske saath rehti hai, mai toh soch raha tha ki.."

"Ji hum samajththe hai. Hum bhi Arnav Sir ko wahi bol rahe the. Lekin aap toh unko jaante hi hai. Kahaa woh kisi ki sunte hai bas apni hi karte hai."

"Oh there you are" said Arnav joining Arjun. "I was beginning to wonder if it was so difficult to find something to drink in my office"

Arjun laughs and says "Oh not at all Arnav. I just got talking with Miss Gupta here. She was telling about how she ended up in your house."

"Oh she was?" said Arnav and looked at Khushi. She wondered what she did now for him to look annoyed.

Just then the peon comes and informs Arjun that there is someone waiting outside to meet him.

Arnav says "Call them inside," but Arjun says "No dude, it's those law firm folks. I might have to step out for a bit. I'll call you later. See you soon, Miss Gupta" he adds to Khushi and leaves for the door.

"Ab jab tak Arjun office se baahar hai apna kaam khatam karlo" says Arnav and walks off towards his cabin.

Khushi rushes upstairs with him into his cabin and says "Ab kya ho gaya aapko?"

"Khushi vaapas jaao aur apna kaam karo" says Arnav and goes and sits on his chair.

Khushi goes to stand next to him and says "Nahi jaayenge hum. Pehle aap bataayiye ki ab kya kiya hai humne jo aap gussa ho rahe hai?"

"What is wrong with you? Maine sirf ye kahaa ki apna kaam khatam karo."

"Ji nahi. Aap tab bhi hume gusse se dekh rahe the jab Arjun ji ne kahaa ki humne unhe bataaya ki hum aapke ghar pe kyu hai."

"Please. Agar tumhe Arjun se farak padta hai toh woh meri problem nahi hai. But, I don't care ki tum log kya baat karo."

"Arjun ji se farak padta hai matlab? Kya kaha humne?" said Khushi standing next to his chair.

"Aur nahi toh?" says Arnav and stands up suddenly. Khushi moves back a bit and Arnav starts walking towards her. "Agar tumhe Arjun se farak nahi padta toh tumhe kya zaroorat thi usse bataane ki ki tum mere ghar pe kya kar rahi ho?"

By now Khushi had reached the glass wall and had nowhere to go, but Arnav kept walking towards her "Woh jo bhi soche tumhe usse kya farak padta hai?" says Arnav coming within an inch of Khushi.

Khushi looks at the top button of his shirt and says "Ji hume unke kuch sochne se kuch farak nahi padta. Woh toh unhone pucha ki hum aapke parivaar ko kaise jaante hai toh hume bataana pada"

"Kya bataaya tumne usko?" breathed Arnav into Khushi's hair.

She looked up feeling his breath fanning her head. His face was a breath away from hers. When she looked into his eyes, for a moment, she forgot what he had asked. Then, as if in a daze, she said "Humne kahaa ki hum akele na ho issliye aapne hume apne saath rehne ko kahaa."

"Mere saath?" whispered Arnav and Khushi fought an urge to close her eyes. "Aapke saath" she replied.

Suddenly, a phone rang somewhere and they came to their senses. Arnav shook his head and took a step back. He looked at Khushi, who widened her eyes and rushed to move past him, but tripped her foot on a shelf and fell headlong onto Arnav, who held her in a bear hug to stop both of them from toppling over.

Realizing their position, Khushi jerked away from him, only to have her head jerked right back into his neck as something was pulling her. She realized her earring was stuck on his collar.

She could feel Arnav's arms still around her and hers were on his biceps. She tried to look up, but ended up grazing her nose agains Arnav's nape. His arms suddenly tightened around her and his Adam's apple bobbed while he swallowed.

"Ek minute, Khushi" said Arnav in a thick voice. He took his hand away from her waist and tried to hold her earring. As he couldn't see clearly, his fingers grazed her lips lightly. This time, her arms tightened on his biceps and she only hoped that he didn't see her closing her eyes briefly.

Both their fingers worked over each other to finally pull the earring free. They stepped away from each other and stared at each other. Each of them hoped the other couldn't feel their labored breath and their quick heartbeats.

"Hey guys" called out Arjun from downstairs and they both looked down. "I'm gonna have to leave for the day. I'll see you guys later" and he hurried out.

Arnav looked back at Khushi, who looked down and walked past him out of the door.
