SECOND HONEYMOON
He stood against the back door and surveyed the bar, his eyes lighted on a female figure leaning against the bar top in a pair of denim shorts with a flowery top which revealed one of her shoulder. He stood back and saw her lean over talking to the bartender then looked over her shoulder as if looking for someone. Heaving a sigh she sat on one of the stools and crossed her legs, he couldn't help but smile at the picture she made.
With her back towards him he walked over and stood beside her signaling the bartender. The bartender placed a drink infront of the lady who looked and surprised: I didnt order anything!
Bartender: the gentleman did!
She quickly turned her head and saw him standing there with a grin on his face, her eyes narrowed for a second then arched her brow in question.
The gentleman in question surveyed her with his dark eyes which were alight with amusement and interest: Hi! I saw you sitting here alone so I was wondering if you would have a drink with me.
For a moment she pursed her lips and then with a twinkle in her eye replied: I don't have drinks with strangers
With a pained expression: you wound me! I'm an admirer of your beauty, I'm known to my friends as Karan.
She bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself from smiling at him which he would only take as an encouragement: I'm shilpa! And I'm not alone I'm waiting for my husband.
Karan widened his eyes in disappointment: married! Well where is he? Your husband I must congratulate him on marrying such a beautiful woman.
Shilpa couldn't help but laugh: he's around! I'll tell him!(when he gazed at her inquiringly) apparently my husband likes to play games.
Karan stepped closer and whispered: so do I!
Shilpa leaned back and gave him a once over, taking in his muscled physique which was covered by a beach shirt and bemuda shorts. Her gaze travelled up to his face which still showed amusement as his eyes twinkled and the dimple in his cheek deepened: I think its time I left!(shilpa stood up saying those words)
Karan: so soon! What about your husband?
Shilpa: he knows where to find me!(she glanced back over her shoulder as she continued to the door, he stood leaning against the bar his eyes glowing with mischief)
She turned back and walked out the door to the beach to which the resort led to. She grabbed one of the vacant loungers and dropped her bag beside it. Angling the umbrella so that just enough sun fell across her she slipped off her top and sat on the lounger to wait the return of her errant husband.
She picked up the bottle of sunscreen and squirted the crme into her hand and started to spread it on her bare arms and shoulders. She bundled her hair atop her hair and secured it by pins, again she started applying the sun screen lotion to her neck n shoulders when she a pair of masculine arms came around her and a familiar voice: allow me!
He took the sun screen lotion from her hand and started applying it to shilpa's shoulders and back. Shilpa turned her head and looked at the familiar face of her husband: what? No more games Karan!
Karan gave her a devilish grin: I'm playing my favorite game (his hands moved forward to her chest to lightly rub the lotion to the skin exposed atop her bikini top)
Shilpa gasped and pushed his hands away: Karan stop it! We are at a public beach!
Karan gave her an innocent expression: what? What did I do? I'm just looking after my wife!(he moved his hands down to her stomach making her squirm as his hands started to tickle)
Shilpa laughing: Karannn! Let go (she managed to move around so that they were face to face. She looked into his smoldering dark gaze and forgot where she was, his gaze dropped to her lips making them part in anticipation)
Karan lowered his head so that their lips were a mere breath away, he rubbed her lips casually with his making her gasp and clutch at his bare shoulders to keep herself steady. Karan lightly nipped at her bottom lip making shilpa moan and fuze her mouth to his. Karan traced a hand up her back to her neck to bring her hair tumbling down as he yanked out the pins blindly. He left her mouth an drew a line kissing down her mouth to her chest to the valley between her breasts. Shilpa lay back on the lounger, eyes closed, her arms wrapped around Karan keeping him close to her as his mouth brought forth feelings of intense pleasure to her.
Karan nipped at her stomach making shilpa open her eyes and look at him lying between her legs. Shilpa felt herself blush as Karan smiled knowingly at her, he lowered his head and dropped a circle of kisses along her navel making shilpa squirm and tighten her legs reflexively around him.
Shilpa cried out: Karan stop!(her breathing was a bit shallow) we cant!
Karan dropped his head on her stomach and groaned: I know! Whose idea was it to come on beach today?
Shilpa smiled: yours!
Karan lifted his head and looked at shilpa: well there is only one thing to do!
Shilpa: what?
Karan stood up and looked around, then he bend down and scooped shilpa into his arms making shilpa squeal in surprise.
Karan looked into shilpa's face and smiled into her wide eyes: lets go for a swim!
He ran towards the water and jumped into it with shilpa. They resurfaced with shilpa pushing her wet hair out of her eyes: Karan you are mad!(she splashed him and started to tread the water)
Karan swam to her and wrapped an arm around her waist: yes I'm mad but only for you!(somehow the way he said it made shilpa turn around and look into his eyes, no matter what color they were she could always tell by looking into them wat he was feeling)
She had looked into those eyes 6 years back when they were tinted with blue lens even then they had always showed his true feelings. His eyes still burned with the same passion as they had before but there was an intensity that she had never seen before. Not sure what was bothering him she did the only thing she knew, she wrapped her arms around him and didn't let go.
The feel of his bare chest and back sent tingles along her body but that was the effect of him on her that even after a year of marriage he made her forget everything.
Karan kissed her forehead and then cheeks as the waves jostled them together, shilpa pulled back and looked up at his face: lets go back!
So they went back to their hotel room, they had hardly gotten into the room when Karan pulled shilpa to him his mouth on top hers making her go wild by his touch. Shilpa clutched him closer wanting to get closer yet, they fell across the bed and everything else faded away under the keen edge of need for each other.
Later they lay spent together Karan propped his head on his fist and looked down at a sleeping shilpa. She lay on her side facing him with a sheet tucked under her arms her hair falling across the pillow in wild disarray. Karan could have looked at her all day, at times they were moments that he still could not believe that they were together. Any moment he would get up from sleep and realize that it was all a dream and he would be left living alone an empty life.
He traced her features with his eyes and recalled how an year back he had managed to get everything right.
Karan: I need to ask you something shilpa (they had been working together again for 6 months, in those 6 months he had tried to get everything right. Finally he was in a position where he could actually approach Shilpa)
Shilpa looked at him puzzled, they had been working together for 6 months but somehow there had been a distance between them. She had heard of rumors of problems in his personal life but had not approached him. She looked at his face trying to judge what was on his mind: go ahead Karan!
Karan took a deep breath: I know a lot has happened between us shilpa, some of it was my fault and some of it was yours. We have spent a lot of time misjudging and mistrusting each other but through out this time one thing has remained constant and that is how I feel about you.
Shilpa looked at him stunned not sure where he was heading with all of this: Karan! Whats wrong, why are you saying all these things?
Karan shook his head stopping her: this time shilpa its not wrong! I have taken care of it, I'm free to talk about my feelings and tell you how I feel about you.(before shilpa could interrupt him again he stepped closer and placed a finger on her lips effectively stopping her) let me tell you shilpa! Let me tell you how much I love you
Shilpa breath left her as if sucked from her lungs, she stood there gasping looking at the face of the man who had taught her the complexities of love. Her heart trembled as he gave her the words: Karan don't! you are…
Karan: No! I'm free shilpa, I don't intend to make the same mistake again(looking into her eyes) so shilpa will you be my love, my home, my family.
Shilpa looked at the pain and love that swirled in his eyes and for answer just threw her arms around him. Karan caught her to him inhaling the scent of her hair as he pressed a kiss to the side of her neck.
Karan: is that a yes?
Shilpa pulled back laughing her eyes bright with unshed tears: Yes! Yes! Yes!
Karan came back to the present and marveled that it had been a year since they had gotten married. He was happy and content which at times scared him but to celebrate their first anniversary Karan had insisted on this trip and had termed it as the Second honeymoon. His eyes focused on the slight fluttering of shilpa's lashes but her eyes remained closed.
Shilpa without opening her eyes: stop staring Karan! You can give me a complex(she almost smiled and waited for Karan's response but when he remained silent she opened her eyes to find him looking down at her with worried eyes) whats wrong Karan?
Karan: are you happy Shilpa?
Shilpa looked bewildered: of course I'm happy, why? aren't you?
Karan: I'm ecstatically happy! But you are so quiet at times that it makes me wonder.
Shilpa: Karan I'm quiet b'coz I'm content and I am happy. I don't need all this (she gestured towards the room) I was happy when we were in Mumbai and I am happy now but it is b'coz I'm with you that I am happy.
Karan cradled her face in his hand: I love you Shilpa, you are my life.
Shilpa smiled: and you are mine!
Karan smiled: I wish I could give you the entire world
Shilpa turned serious: well there is something I wanted to ask you
Karan: you know you only have to say the name
Shilpa lightly traced a random pattern on his arm: remember when you proposed you said that you wanted me to be your family.
Karan pressed a kiss to her forehead: you are my family shilpa!
Shilpa: I wanted to ask if you wanted to make an addition to the family(she quickly looked at his face) I want to have a baby Karan, I want to have your baby.
Karan bent down and took shilpa's lips in a passionate kiss which started to evolve into something else. Shilpa gasped pulling back: Karan?
Karan: I thought actions speak louder than words (looking at shilpa's bemused expression) lets make a baby shilpa, lets start a new life together.
Shilpa's eyes filled with tears as she pulled his head closer and whispered against his lips: I love you Karan!
Karan whispered back: I love you more!
They made slow luxurious love, each touch, each sigh full of love and when they crested the wave passion they clung together unwilling to let go. Even afterwards they lay there on the bed with their arms around each other. When Karan tried to take his weight off her shilpa tightened her arms around him: don't move! our baby is being conceived!
Karan stilled as he also wanted the dream to be a reality and whispered: how do you know?
Shilpa: I don't but I want it to (after a pause) what if it isn't?
Karan levered his weight on his elbows and looked at shilpa with a wicked grin: then we practice! Again and again and again!(he lowered his head and it started all over again)
