Haw!! Why all 🤢🤢🤢 at cathartic?? while i think we are all fortunate at not having been suppressed either in terms of education or opportunities.. there is definitely a grain of truth in Geet's predicament in terms of the over-arching societal pressure of conforming to the larger 'code' or 'prototype' of the Bhartiya Nari...
Which is to say the 'randoms' (= everyone else who is NOT a part of your family, yet amazingly have more power over them than they do over their OWN family😆😆) can hold you to ransom at a smile withheld, at a conversation louder or more sarcastic than deemed neccessary, at a spontaneous or 'irresponsible' moment enjoyed, at an 'answering back' at the menfolk, at a questioning of rituals deemed sacred, at a thought or moment stolen for yourself before the 'man in your life' or your 'child', at a house less than perfect, at a sacrifice eschewed... AND you will find the family making excuses and apologies on your behalf... 😕😕😕
allow me to add_ at an innocent conversation with a male friend, at a simple laugh that escaped unconsciously from the mouth, at a dance one danced wholeheartedly, at a confident style of walking, at stating their own individual opinion instead of conforming to that of elders. It goes against the grain to recognize the fact that women too have freedom - to choose a lifestyle or career or independence!
Ok, I dunno what the inside joke is - but Cathartic it is and I think it was damned necessary - it is in fact for everyone right?
But no - that too is considered a taboo if done by the girls.
And yup to the other second point...
The third point...? Coleridge wrote Kubla Khan when he was stoned... which is to say he was in a state of delirium... the best stuff comes out then, coz the conscious mind is not strong enough to rein you in... so yup... it was awesome stuff!! 👏👏
Uff! Long post as usual... i really need to stop 'vomiting' out every single thought that comes to mind!! 😆😆😆
