Part 20

She always wanted to say that to him but now was skeptical about telling it aloud. Wonder how would he react? What will he think of her? She didn't want to lose him now. Not again! She wasn't going to make a mistake this moment. With what happened a few seconds back, she felt that maybe, maybe Sid still loved her. "Sid! I Love you" she rehearsed for one last time and went near him.
Sid was still not able to come out of the situation. What had he just done? Was it right? What was she thinking? He didn't want her to think that now Armaaan is gone he is taking advantage of her. He saw her taking slow steps towards him and wondered what to do. Whether to leave the room or stay there or listen to her or talk to her. He decided it was best just to stand there without saying anything and wait for things to happen after which he'll decide what to do.

"Sid" she said looking lovingly and intently at him.

He didn't notice this expression on her face and immediately said "I'm sorry"

"Sorry?!" she was shocked to hear it from him. She should be the one who has to apologize for all the trauma she put him through. She should feel sorry for betraying him, not understanding him, not recognizing his true love for her, for leaving him.

Sid bent his head and said in his husky tone "I err.. I didn't mean to.. there.. hold.. err.. close.."

She realized he was apologizing for what just happened. He felt what just happened was a mistake! She wanted to shout out "NO! It wasn't a mistake you stupid! You have full rights on me!" but all she could manage to say was utter his name "Sid"

He was about to leave when she caught hold of his wrist. Bewildered at this he turned to look at her and noticed her eyes welled with tears. It pained him to see her like that. She still did make a difference to him whatever the situations were. With the fear that he would turn his back on her again, she spoke out "Please don't leave me Sid"

He didn't speak a word and was trying to analyze what she just said.

"I need you. Please don't leave me" she said while tears dropped down her cheeks.

"Maybe its too late now to realize this but its not the end. Is it?" she looked at him expecting an answer or at least a look from which she could decipher what he was thinking. But Sid didn't even throw a glance at her and looked the other way.

"You always gave me happiness but in return I gave you immense pain. You were always there for me even when my family wasn't with me but I left you when you needed me the most! The day you told me that you started liking me those words meant a lot to me. I tried to start a new life leaving behind the past. But destiny had something else in store for me.. us.. Sid" she paused.

Sid now looked at her with questioning eyes. What was she trying to tell? Why is she talking about all those things now?

"Even then I always wanted to be with you. Maybe I took you for granted. Maybe I thought you would never leave me and go. They say you never know the value of something until it is gone and when I lost you I came to know what you meant to me. You are my world Sid."

The last line made Sid widen his eyes. This was what he always wanted to hear from her. He always wanted to be her priority and now she calls him her world. These words could have meant a lot few months back but now they are merely words.

"What's the use of all this Riddhima?"

She wasn't surprised. She knew it wouldn't be easy to convince him. This question was just one of the many in her list she mentally prepared.

"Sid please! Please listen to me" she begged.

He didn't say anything and just turned his face away from her.

"I know I have hurt you a lot Sid. But please trust me."

"You have made a mockery of this word"

Riddhima felt numb and didn't react.

"I always trusted you Riddhima and even now I don't have any complains. I'm standing here in front of you, listening to what you have to say. But I don't think so you and I can ever happen."

Tears were falling from her eyes without any control. His words "you and I can never happen" dampened all her hope. A tiny bit of positivity which was there few moments back vanished. She forgot that her hand was hurt and removed the sling from her shoulder and walked briskly towards him. She put her hand on his shoulder and turned him towards her.

"Sid I was a fool to not recognize your true love. I was stupid to let you go. I was always this confused person who chose things by comparing. Least did I realize that I was trying to compare a selfish person with You."

He stood there still without any reaction.

"Sid we can start a new life, a life without the shadows of the past" and looked at him.

"Okay Riddhima. As you say" he said. She felt happy that he agreed and a huge smile flashed on her face. "But" he said and the curve that formed on her lips slowly started becoming straight.

"But what if Armaan returns again in your life?"

This question was totally unexpected for Riddhima. She thought she'ss tell Sid the fact that she loved him and will be with him forever and Sid could either accept her or leave her and go but what kind of a question was this?

"Sid?"

"Answer me Riddhima! What if he comes back in your life saying it was his mistake leaving you?"

Before Riddhima could open her mouth to answer it he cut her in between.

"I've already had a heart break Riddhima. I can't bear another betrayal. No I can't" his voice cracked and tears started forming in his eyes.

"Sid" Riddhima saw him break down and was feeling even more guilty. She held his face in her hands.

"Sid look at me" she said and made his eyes meet hers. "I promise I'll never leave you again. Not anymore. You can read my eyes right? Tell me do you see the truth that lies in my eyes?"

He looked into her eyes. She was indeed speaking the truth but was he always right in reading her eyes? If yes then such a situation would never arise. He tried looking the other way but Riddhima's firm was strong enough to turn his face back towards her.

She slowly whispered "I Love You" and kissed his forehead. Sid just looked at her speechless. "I will always love you! Till my death" she said and softly kissed his lips. A tiny drop of tear escaped from his eye which Riddhima noticed and wiped it off with her finger. He was smiling and crying like a small kid who got back his priced possession. They hugged each other sobbing. They had tears in their eyes but these were tears of reunion, tears of joy and an indication of reunion.

They broke the hug and looked at each other. Riddhima hands were still around Sid's neck and she was in no way letting him go. She wouldn't leave him even for a second. They would be together forever like this in each others arms. He wiped the tears from her cheeks. She again hugged him again this time even tighter. The physical pain didn't matter in front of this new found happiness in her life. She ignored her fractured hand and held on to him even tighter. With the same intense passion Sid embraced her and rested his head slightly on hers. Both closed their eyes and experienced this bliss, the feeling of togetherness, the silently made promises to stay like this forever.

After a few minutes they broke the hug and looked at each other. Sid slowly traced his fingers on her face. His touch sent shivers running through her entire body and she closed her eyes. Sid kissed her eyes. Riddhima's breath was held. He kissed her cheeks and then her chin. Her grip on his neck tightened and her hands slowly moved towards his messy hair. His hands were already lost in her silky hair and he pulled her head gently close to him. They could feel each others breath as well as their hearts beating at a faster pace. Things around them seemed to have disappeared. They felt they were in a different world altogether. A world of their own! With hardly a breath separating them, Sid's eyes searched Riddhima's with questioning intensity. Riddhima responded with abandon, pressing her lips to his with an urgency and passion that overwhelmed Sid. Their lips met and their bodies trembled in response. Riddhima held him tighter, baring her heart and soul to his kiss and his love. Their arms moved of their own accord to pull each other tighter and as their kiss deepened, leaving no room even for air to breath, everything else vanished into emptiness - the shadows of their past shrunk away as the passionate warmth of their love, of their belonging engulfed them and united them.

That was an awesome update!! And you cannot give me the credit for the whole of the last paragraph.. I just added the last 2 sentences.. The rest is all your effort and imagination..

I loved their confrontation and I loved how Riddhima did not care about her fractured hand in her desperation to convince Sid of her love for him.. Her desperation for him is something all of us had really wanted to see in the show but I'm glad at least we got to read it in your FF. And man their kiss was just... Issshhh.. I can so imagine it 😍

And what? Next one is the last update? Pls replay my Nahi from yesterday!!!
