CHAPTER-20

Nupur finally got up at mid-night. Her stomach was growling with hunger. Since the past two days, romance had taken the lead and everything else was forgotten. That "everything" especially included food. She couldn't remember the last time she ate proper food. She couldn't complain though; other things were on her mind. She and Mayank now had started living a completely new life, which was filled with love.

Without thinking anything else, she got up and settled her hair into a tight pony. She blinked her eyes a couple of times to react to the tiny light that came from the side window. All of a sudden she felt uneasiness in her stomach, which slowly replaced loud growling. Unable to control herself, she ran to the washroom, where to her shock she started puking. Her head ached and she was surprised by this incident. But more than her, obviously Mayank was standing out, when she opened the door.

"Nupur..I think its twins." He said expressionless and almost in shock.

She took a while to digest to his thought. She giggled. "Mayank! Are you MAD? Woh actually I've not been eating healthy right? I'm a bit sensitive in terms of food. I'll eat something and ill be fine!" She smiled. "And I cant be pregnant." She said encouragingly.

"Are..you..sure?" He seemed hesitant.

She nodded. "Please get me some food! Or I'll puke again." She said sadly.

Nodding, he looked at the time which was a little past midnight. He called up to the hotel, to find if they could get anything to eat. Nupur sat on the bed, finishing a bottle of water and trying to calm herself down.

"Lime Soda and chicken sandwiches are on their way."

She grinned. "Awesome. I'm famished."

He sat next to her and took his hands in her. "Nupur..are you sure you okay? Ill call a doctor?"

She laughed. "No need Mayank..let me just eat something. And you…" She said facing him and putting a finger to his chest. "Maintain a little distance and shorten the romance for a while. I'll be better then." She said smirking.

He smiled at her antics. "That is so not possible!!"

He said wrapping the bed sheet around her. At that very second there was a knock on the door. Nupur looked at him surprised. He just smiled. The waiter passed over the tray of food to Mayank and he couldn't stop thanking him.

Nupur had never eaten so fast. She was starving so badly, that she didn't even remember offering a piece to Mayank. After contently finishing the tray of food.

"Mayank you sleep, Ill go for a walk and come. I need fresh air..I feel so stuffy here."She said pulling a shawl over herself and standing up.

"Hello madam..do you think am going to let you go alone at this time of the night"

"Great..you also come with me!"

He made a face. "Look at the time, I'm sleepy!!"

"Fine I am going alone!!" She said moving towards the door.

"Ok Ok wait am coming!!" He said angrily pulling over a T-shirt.

"Samrat..who goes to office on a Sunday?" Gunjan asked irritated. She had made plans of going shopping.

"Gunjan..Mayank is also not here. There is a lot of pending work that needs to be completed. I'm sorry." He touched her cheek. "Did u make plans?"

She smiled. "No its okay. Vishaal needed some help in the practical agenda, I'll just help him."

"Who is Vishaal?" he asked staring at her in an inquisitive tone.

She was surprised by his questioning. "Vishaal is my classmate Samrat, from college. He needed help; finals are also nearing. So…"

"Hmmm." He said in a little angry tone. "Fine…go..bye." He said opening her side car door.

"Samrat..what happened?"

"Nothing. Bye." He said staring in the front, starting the car.

She got down from the car and hesitantly waved a good-bye, but he just started the car and drove off. She was left in a state of confusion and sadness that he didn't trust her. She turned around to enter her house, when the car honked. She turned around to see Samrat giggling.

"I was just joking Chashmish. Its your life and you are free to do whatever you want. Ill never stop you."

He waved and gave her a flying kiss.

She too smiled back while he winked and drove off.

"Samrat bhi na..ekdum paagal hai!" She muttered as she entered inside laughing.

Nupur was thoroughly enjoying the walk. The cool breeze definitely helped in lifting up her spirits and of course her health.

"Nupur, its been 15 minutes, you have got enough fresh air. Lets go inside now." He said catching hold of her hand.

She made a face. "Lets sit here for sometime." She said pointing to the sand down.

"Nupur its so dirty!"

She glared at him and sat down, leaving no option for him but to sit down too.

"Nupur..your mood swings have started..I think you're definitely pregnant." He said throwing stones in the small lake in front of him.

She looked at him shocked to see no hint of teasing, but a lot of irritation. She felt bad for behaving like this. She sat facing him. "I'm sorry!"

He stared at her for a while. "It's okay." But he continued to look down.

Silence for the next 10 minutes.

"Mayank..I love you." She said childishly with a smile.

"Good." He said scribbling on the sand.

She smiled seeing his puffed angry face. She pushed him lightly and he fell on the sand. She lied down next to him and hugged him so tight that he couldn't even move.

"Nupur please! Not here!" He almost shouted.

He was left dumb-struck. He tried moving up, but she again pushed him down. "Lets stay like this for a while please..on the sand..this beautiful place. After going home you will again become the old sadu work-a-holic!!"

"Really?" He said amused giving in.

She nodded and kept her leg over his. He took it off and she again kept her leg again a little irritated now.

"Kya kar rahe ho Mayank? You want to play leg fight with me?" She asked looking at him. It was always Nupur's habit to lock her legs with him.

He laughed and then nodded. She kept her a leg tightly over his while he kept dodging more, irritating her.

"Mayyynaaak. Stop it!!" She said getting irritated as she kept her foot on his.

He again took it off. "Keep trying! I'm not going to stop." He said laughing.

But she finally won, as she put her legs around his, leaned on his chest, hugged him tight and closed her eyes; and then there was nothing he could do.

"Hi Gunjan..what's happening? Free for lunch?" He called her after finishing all his work.

"Samrat..actually me and Vishaal just finished our studies and we have come out for lunch."

"Oh Vishaal? Ya I completely forgot. No problem you carry on..I'll have lunch in office. Bye Chashmish." He said with a smile.

"Samrat..why are you eating alone? Join us for lunch."

"Gunjan..you are with your friends. Its alright. I have no problem. Ill see you in the evening. Dinner saath karenge. Ok?" He said in a pleasant tone.

"Samrat this is Vishaal here, you must join us, come on. It'll be fun. I don't want any excuses. Gunjan will text you the address. Okay Bye!" and the call was cut.

Samrat smiled and took his car keys to go down. On entering the restaurant, he saw Gunjan sitting with two more people. He guessed one was Vishaal, but the other girl, he had no idea.

"Hi.." he said grabbing a chair to sit with them.

Gunjan seemed really happy to see him. "Samrat..hi..I'm so glad you could come!!"

"The pleasure is all mine!" Vishaal interrupted her.

Samrat smiled.

"Let me introduce, I'm Vishaal, and this is Neeta. "

Vishaal was a tall guy with black glasses and Neeta was a pretty girl almost as thin as Gunjan.

He smiled. "I'm Samrat. Nice to meet you."

The conversation flowed without any efforts. Samrat had a good characteristic of blending amongst any kind of people and crowds.

"Samrat let us tell you a secret about Gunjan?" Neeta said with a giggle.

"Really? What?" Samrat asked interested.

Vishaal added. "Samrat do you know Gunjan is sooo naughty? And we thought she was this quiet little nerd, and teachers pet.." they finished laughing.

"Hawww!! Vishaal!!" She slapped his hand.

Samrat laughed looking at Gunjan.

"Ya it was as if she had hidden herself..but now you should see how much we enjoy!"Neeta said with a smile.

Samrat and Gunjan smiled seeing each other.

"Whatever is the change..it is for good." Vishaal added.

Samrat cleared his throat and softly held Gunjan's hand below the table. She pressed it tighter in support and smiled again.

"Waise tum dono..girlfriend boyfriend?" Neeta asked in a teasing tone.

"No ways!!" Samrat said shocked. "Who told you?"

Gunjan looked at him questioning.

"Gunjan ne bataya nahin? We ran away and got married yesterday..she is my wife now!"He said seriously.

All of them burst out laughing as Gunjan and Neeta kept hitting Samrat, while he and Vishaal hi-fied.

After lunch Vishaal and Neeta left with a promise to meet again and keep in touch.

"What is your problem Mr.Shergill?" Gunjan said turning towards him.

He laughed. "Why Ms. Sharma any problem?"

"No..now please may I order some dessert?"

"Chashmish tumhara khana jata kahan hai! Bolo kya khaogi?"

She smiled. "Guess I'm born lucky..Chocolate Brownie Fudge.Yahan ke speciality."

He smiled. "Can I kiss you? Just once? Please?" He almost whispered.

She smiled and shook her head. "Waiter aa gaya.." She pointed to him.

Samrat called the waiter. "Madam here wants a..?" he looked at her. "Oh Chocolate Brownie Fudge please." He said stressing on the last word.

"With extra chocolate sauce!!" Gunjan added.

"Gunjan!!" Samrat said.

"Whaaat?" She grinned and looked away. "Okay listen! After this I want to see the new Shah Rukh movie okay?" She ordered.

"Nupur's quite a lot of habits I'm seeing in you now! Good change" He said amused.

"Ab woh to hai hi aise." She said grinning. "I mean..tumse better."

"Oh really?"

"Yes REALLY!" She said looking the other side.

"Ya?" He said tickling her.

She started laughing and caught his hands. "Samraaat..stoppp."

The Gunjan, who never laughed, started laughing. Never spoke, started speaking. She started living the life she always desired of. God is always around, and he sends little angels in our life to make us happy and make us what we are born for. To smile. Things that her family, doctors, counselors could not change, a simple man did it without any hesitations, and that is what it's called as, True Love.
