hey guys so here's part 17... hope you'll like it

Part 17

As Geet entered Maan's room, she saw Maan standing near the dressing table in just a towel wrapped around his waist.

When Geet enters, Maan jumps in surprise and the towel slips from his waist.

Geet's eyes widens momentarily at the sight and then she closes her eyes with her hands and screams

"Aaa..." Maan quickly picks up his towel and wraps it again. He looks at Geet who was standing with her back towards him but wasn't screaming anymore and a smile came on his lips at her uncomfortness.

Geet says with her back towards him "Maan, sharam nahin aati hai, itne bade hoke nange ghoomte ho?!" [aren't u ashamed of roaming naked?]

"Excuse me, this is 'my' bedroom, aur apne bedroom mein, main jaise chahoon ghoom sakta hoon!" he wears his sweat pants from the bed and continues in a teasing tone "aur tum to aise behave kar rahi ho jaise pehli baar mujhe bina kapdon ke dekh rahi ho!!" [I can roam in my bedroom as I like... and u r behaving like u r seeing me naked for the first time]

Geet closes her eyes to shake off the sight of that night that flashed in front of her eyes by his words.

Maan continues sarcastically "And if you don't want to see something like this, then you should have enough manners to knock the door before entering someone's bedroom." he was still angry at her.

He said coldly "What are you doing here?"

The coldness in his voice triggered the anger in her again. And she remembered that he wasn't picking up her phone on purpose.

She looks back at him angrily and says "Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, What the hell do you think of yourself? I have been trying to call you from last one hour! Why aren't you picking up my phone dammit??" She didn't realise that she has started screaming.

"Geet I thought you were smart enough to figure out that when someone doesn't picks up your phone, that means he doesn't want to talk to you!!" he said with cold expressions.

"Fine! Even I don't want to talk to you!! You know what, you are right! It 'was' my fault! Main hi pagal hoon, jo mujhe tumhari fikar ho rahi thi. Mujhe laga ke tumhein bohat bura laga hai, aur gusse mein tumhein kuch ho na jaaye!! But guess I was wrong!! Jab meri wahaan fikar se jaan nikli jaa rahi thi, to tum yahaan aaram se baith kar apna 'bubble bath' le rahe the!!! Thankyou so much Mr. Maan Singh Khurana, for letting me know how much you care about me!!" Geet was so angry that she didn't realise what she was saying.

She was about to go when she heard him say"To tumhein meri fikar ho rahi thi!!" [so u were worried for me!]

Geet stops in her steps and realises what she has said.

Maan walks slowly towards her and slides his hand in her waist and makes her face him and says "To aakhir dil ki baat zubaan tak aa hi gayi na Geet?" [so at last u said whats in ur heart]

Geet was looking on the ground trying to think of some excuse to cover up her words and says fumbling

"Nahin... Woh... Main..."

Maan holds her chin gently and makes her look up. Geet looks up at him and her heart skips a beat.

Geet hasn't really saw him before as anger has clouded her vision.

Maan had come out of shower just before geet entered his room.

The water was still dripping from his wet hair onto his forehead and there was still some drops of water on his face. He was looking very sexy in his half-naked wet form.

"Bolo na Geet! Bol do... Bol do ke tum bhi mujhse pyar karti ho. Fikar karti ho meri!!" Geet again looked down as her traitor heartbeats have again started to deceive her by thumping very loudly in her chest. [say it geet! Say it that you love me. That u care for me]

She tries to control herself and says while looking down "Aisa kuch nahin hai Maan! You are my friend, that's why I was... worried for you!!" [its nothing like that]

Maan leaves her while anger has again started building up in him and he moves back.

He again said coldly while putting on his vest "Fine! Now that you've seen that I'm ok, so you can leave now."

Geet was taken aback at his cold behaviour. She couldn't understand what's wrong with him! He is so sweet in one minute and the next minute he is so rude!!

Geet was about to leave when she remembers something and says "What about the news?"

Maan looks at her angrily and then picks up a file from nearby table and says coldly "You don't have to worry about it! I have called a press conference tomorrow, and I'll declare that we are not together anymore!!"

Geet was shocked "WHATT???!!!"

Maan looks at her surprised. He couldn't understand that what was the reason for this outburst. Isn't this what she wanted??

Geet says unbelievably "You mean to say you are going to break up with me in front of the whole world!! No way!!! Nobody dumps Geet Handa, you get that?!"

Maan was so shocked at her words. Does this girl even listens to herself when she speaks?!

Maan says casually "Fine, then you are welcome to marry me!!"

"In your dreams Maan!!" Geet scoffs.

"Geet, you are getting on my nerves now. Aakhir tum chahti kya ho? You don't want to marry me and now you even have a problem with 'breaking up'!! Miss Geet Handa, maybe you are forgetting something. So let me remind you! The break up is not 'real'! For really' breaking up, we have to be 'together' first!!" he said sarcastically.[ what do you want!?]

Geet makes a 'whatever' face and says "I know that! I'm just saying that since you put me into this situation, so I get to dump you and not the other way around!!"

Maan looks at her unbelievably. 'In all of this, she only cares about who's gonna dump who? She's unbelievable.'

And he says faking indifference "Fine! So the press conference is at Khurana Arts 10 am"

Geet says "Ok" and was about to leave when she heard him say sarcastically "And please, har roz ki tarah late mat hona! Otherwise I'm not gonna wait for you, and you have to live with this shame that I dumped you!!"[don't be late like everyday]

Geet rolls her eyes and says "Fine!" and leaves.

As she steps outside, the lights flashes on her and she realised that the media has cornered her. They were asking her all kind of dirty questions like 'what are you doing here miss geet?' or 'are you guys in a live-in relationship right now?' or 'were you here just for a night?' and many more...

Geet just stood there dumbfounded. She couldn't find her tongue out of shock when she felt a hand sliding into her waist and she looks at the source and saw Maan standing there and glaring at the reporters.

"Excuse me. Don't you guys have anything better to do than to sneak up on my fiance? Geet was just here to talk about some important stuff! And we will give all of your question's answers tomorrow, so just have some patience!! So now if you'll excuse us, I'm gonna drop my fiance home."

Maan makes her sit in the car and sits on the driver seat and drove off.

When they were few blocks away from Maan's house, geet says "Maan, thanks."

Maan says angrily "Geet mujhe to ye samajh aana band ho gaya hai, that what do you want? Who asked you to come to my house this late at night?? Meri izzat ki na sahi, kam se kam apni izzat ki to parwah kar leti!! You knew media would be after you for few days and still you..." he left at that unable to control his anger. [geet I don't understand what u want... if u cant think about my honour, at least think about yours]

Geet says in a little voice "I'm sorry."

Maan controls himself and says "Just forget it now!!"

Geet says "you don't have to drop me home.. just park it on the side, I'll take a cab!!"

"Yeah right! So that the next headlines would be that Maan Singh Khurana cant even drop her fiance home!!" he said with irritation.

"I'm not your fiance!!"

"Well as of now you are!!"

They didn't talked for the rest of their way. When they reached home, geet was gonna gets out and said "Good night!"

But Maan didn't reply and drove off.

Geet sighs and goes inside. When she reaches inside, she realised that the news of her so-called-marriage-that's-apparently-never-gonna-happen have spread everywhere like fire.

When she entered home, everybody was looking at her shocked. At first she didn't realise what was going on, then suddenly pinky came running towards her and hugged her tight and said

"Geet, you are getting married? I'm so happy for you!! But I'm also mad at you!!" Pinky said faking anger "Why didn't you tell me? My BFF is getting married and I come to know about it from news!! Tu mujhse baat mat karna Geet!!" [u don't talk to me]

And geet realises what was happening. She says to pinky "Pinky, tu mere saath room mein chal!" [pinky u come to the room with me]

She drags pinky with her to the room.

When in the room, geet locks the door and tells pinky all the story. Pinky was shocked by listening to it.

When geet is finished, pinky asks her "So what are you gonna do now?"

"Maan has called a press conference tomorrow. We are gonna end this and fake a break-up in front of the media!" Geet says as a matter of fact.

Pinky was looking at Geet unbelievably.

Pinky said "But why?"

Geet was surprised at pinky's question. She says "What do you mean by why? Kiyunki main Maan se shaadi nahin karna chaahti!" [because I don't want to marry Maan]

"To kis se karna chahti hai geet? Vicky se??" Pinky said sarcastically. [then who do you want to marry geet?]

Geet was taken aback by her question. Did she really want to marry Vicky? No, probably not! Maybe if Vicky wasn't already married, she might think about marrying him in the future. But right now no. The truth was she has never thought of marriage till today. Not Maan... not Vicky... not anybody... she just wasn't ready for marriage.

Pinky saw geet lost in thoughts and she said sweetly "Dekh Geet... maybe you are not understanding the seriousness of the situation right now. Do you realise what will happen if this news reaches London? You know your dad better than me! He will not tolerate anybody to play with his family honour!! If you supposedly break-up with Maan now, those pictures will ruin your reputation very badly. And it will not take much time before these news reaches London. London is not that far from India!!"

Geet got very scared at the thought of her father seeing those pics. She realises what pinky was saying was true.

If she finishes off this relationship now, the media was gonna make a big issue out of it! And on top of that, those pics gonna ruin her reputation very badly.

But she cant even marry Maan! She didn't love him and moreover she wasn't ready for marriage.

Pinky continues "And Geet, right now only your marriage is gonna put a stop to all this! Geet, Maan is a very nice guy. He is your such a good friend. And on top of that he loves you! Maan is a guy, this wont affect his reputation as much as it will affect you!! But still he is ready to marry you!!! He is even ready to do anything for your happiness!!! Geet where will you find a guy like him??!!"

But geet was still not ready to accept it. Something in her was stopping her telling her that this is all wrong...

She said with a baby face "But I don't love him!"

Pinky says frustratingly "Oh for God's sake Geet! You are not a kid anymore!! So stop behaving like one!! I'm your best friend, so at least don't lie to me!! We both know why you don't want to marry him. It is because of that Vicky right? Geet why aren't you understanding that he is married!!! You cant change that!! He never loved you and he never will love you. He was just playing with you geet!!"

Geet looks down feeling very low. It still hurts her to think about him. She wasn't over him yet!!

Pinky realises that she has been very harsh on geet. She shouldn't have said these harsh words to her when she is already so hurt.

Pinky hugs geet and geet breaks down in tears.

"Geet yaar, tu kaise us Vicky se itna pyar karne lag gayi yaar? You didn't even knew anything about him!" [geet how did u started loving Vicky so much?]

Geet said in between her sobs "I don't know pinky. But now it feels like I will never be happy in life again."

Pinky scolds her and says "Geet don't be stupid! Of course you will be happy geet! It is just a phase geet. Trust me, it will pass! You just have to be strong! Forget about him and move on!! Maan is a very nice guy geet. He cares for you so much. He's a god-sent gift. Give him a chance geet. He loves you and I'm sure you will be very happy with him. But its still totally your decision geet. I'm your best friend and I just want to see you happy!" and she goes leaving geet in a dilemma.

Geet couldn't sleep for the whole night. She kept on thinking what is right and what is wrong.

Next morning she reached office at 9.30. For the first time, she has reached office on time.

When she entered the office, first of all everyone was shocked momentarily to see geet on time! And then everyone showered their wishes towards her. So she was right... the news does spread like fire!

Geet was still a bit lost in her thoughts. She has already made her decision but her mind was not stopping from thinking the alternatives.

Suddenly geet saw Vicky standing there.

Geet looks frowning in anger at him as he start moving towards her.

"How are you Geet?" he asks concerned.

"I'm fine, thank you." She replied coldly.

There was few seconds of silence between them. When Vicky still didn't say anything, geet was about to go away coldly when she heard him say "Geet!" and she looks back at him.

He says looking on the ground "Geet, I heard that you and Maan are getting..." he paused for a moment and continues "getting married." He looks up at her "But Geet, you are my friend and it is my responsibility to apprise you that Maan is not a right choice for you! You are making a mistake Geet!! Please don't marry him!!!" he almost begged her.

Geet looks at him and her heart starts melting. But she snaps at herself mentally. She thinks 'Geet, don't fall into his trap again! You have already made a mistake once of falling for those innocent eyes of his. He has no right to tell you what is wrong and what is right. You cant let him play with you again!!'

And she said coldly "Thank you for your advise! Anything else?"

Vicky looks at her cold expressions and nods a 'no'

And geet walks away without saying anything else.

She goes to Maan's cabin and see Maan was about to leave. She says "Maan, I need to talk to you!"

Maan was in a hurry and he said coldly "Not now Geet! Media is here. We need to get going..." and he leaves without saying anything else.

Geet walks after him slowly.

IN THE PRESS CONFERENCE

Maan addresses the reporters "Thank you very much for coming at such a short notice. But I'm sure you guys wouldn't minded it as the only news flashing on every news channel is that of our relationship!" he looks at geet with a smirk. "The way everything came out in public, was not something that we planned. So we called all of you to answer your questions and Geet over here have a very important announcement to make!" and he says to geet with a cold fake smile "So go ahead Geet!!"

Geet closes her eyes for few moments to control the war of thoughts in her mind. And then opens her eyes determinedly and takes a deep breath and says

"We are getting married next week!!!"

even i am confuse now ... is vicky wrong or Maan is playing a game ???? ... i mean it is true that vicky is married & only concern towards Geet but Maan too had promised that he will make her Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana soon ... pinky is right but something odd in all this situation ... something really fishy ... i too wanted their marriage & as those previous part indiacted they are now married but somthing wrong went between all these and that's what we are eager to read
