Part 16
It took 2 seconds for Geet to register his words in her mind. Slowly the smile from her face fades as the reality hits her. She felt like someone has slapped her on her face.
His wife???!!! And the tears started making way into her eyes. It took every ounce of her self-control to fight those tears! She can not cry! Not atleast in front of his wife!!
'His wife??? He's married!!?? Why didn't he ever tell me?? Is he really that stupid that he couldn't see that I was falling head over heels for him. Was I really just a friend to him! Or was he just playing with me?' and the anger started building in her heart.
She saw him saying something to Namrata but she couldn't hear it. She was so engrossed in her heartbreak.
It was getting harder and harder for her to keep her tears in. But her pride was too big to let her cry in front of him.
She started walking away from them without saying anything.
Vicky sees her going and calls her "Geet, where are you going?"
"Washroom." She managed to say without looking at them and walked away.
Geet goes out trying very hard to control her tears. She felt like her heart has been broken into million pieces. She was in pain.
Geet has never experienced such amount of pain ever. All her dreams, her fantasies, her hopes seemed ridiculous to her. All she could think about was his hand touching that girl.
She felt terrible. She felt like how big loser she was to let him come into her life so easily, without even knowing anything about him.
She felt empty from inside. Like there's nothing left in her life, like she would never be happy again.
She tried to think what was missing in her that he chose that girl over her?? There must be something in her that he doesn't love her... she is so ordinary...
She felt like she has been made a fool of. She has made herself so vulnerable to him!! And he would probably be laughing at her right now!!
She felt humiliated and embarrassed. How will she face the world now!!!
And then her feelings take a turn on anger. She realized that it was his fault. He should have told her about his marriage. He played with her and she is not a toy.
She wipes her tears and said angrily "I am not going to cry over you Mr. Vicky Khurana! It is not my loss over here, but yours!!! You will realize what you have lost, but it will be too late by then!!!"
She went home while trying to cling to her anger and locked herself in her room.
But then she broke down. The pain of her first heartbreak was too much for her. She tries to console herself million times but the memories of past and hopes of her perspective future brought tears in her eyes again and again.
She didn't know when she dozed off while tired of crying.
Next day when she woke up, she promised herself that she would not waste her time on him. She would not cry for him and would never meet him again in her life.
She felt happy that he wasn't the boss at KA anymore, and she wouldn't have to see his face again.
When she reached office, late as usual, she got back into her work. She tried to divert her attention from other kinds of thoughts by divulging herself into work as much as she can.
And it wasn't hard because they had a show in the evening. And this was Geet's first show in which she has fully participated in the preparations.
Maan tries to talk to Geet a lot of times today, but she made an excuse every time.
She knew what would Maan wants to talk to her, and she did not want to talk about that now. She wanted to stay alone for a while.

IN THE EVENING
Geet was busy in the last minute preparations. Her whole day has passed smoothly and she hadn't thought about Vicky even for a moment.
Maan comes and said "Geet, why are you ignoring me?"
Geet looks at him casually and says "Nahin to! I'm just busy Maan."
She tries to walk away when Maan said "Tumhari Vicky se koi baat hui? Is he coming for the show?"
The name of Vicky triggered anger in Geet. She has almost forgotten about her heart break and Maan has just reminded her about him.
Geet snaps at Maan angrily "Main Vicky ki secretary nahin hoon, samjhe tum?! If you want to ask anything about him, then call his wife!!" she said the word wife disgustingly and walks away.
"Okkayyy" Maan said and smirked whiled looking at her retreating form.
After some time, the show starts.
Aditi comes and says to geet in tension
"Geet yaar there's a big problem!"
Geet asks "What happened aditi?"
"Geet yaar the varmala for the next scene broked. Could you do me a favour! We used a varmala in our last show too. It should be in the storeroom in the basement. Could you grab it please!" she said to geet in one breath and then called back to somewhere in the background "Yeah I'll be there!" and says to geet "Please Geet, please please please!!" and she walks away quickly before geet could say something.
Geet goes backstage and goes into the storeroom.
She saw Maan over there already.
"Maan, tum yahaan?!" she asked him surprised.
"Yeah, I came here to get the varmala for the next scene." He says casually and asks "What are you doing here?"
Geet: I came to get the varmala too. Did you find it?
Maan: No. I don't think its over here. Lets go!
And they go towards the door, but the door was closed.
Maan tries to open the door, but it didn't budge.
"Yeh door ko kya ho gaya!" Maan says to himself.
They both tries to open the door but the door doesn't open.
"I think the door is jammed!!" Maan said.
Geet calls to the door while knocking "Koi hai??? Hello??? Open the door!!!"
But nobody opened the door.
Maan takes out his phone to call someone. He calls
Maan: hello... Vicky... Hello... Hello... Hello...
He looks at the phone and says "Shit!"
"What happened?" Geet asks.
"There's no signal over here!" Maan tells her frustratingly.
Geet looks at her phone and he was right. There was no signal on the phones.
Maan tries to bumps into the door to break the door.
And suddenly the broken knob of the door hurts Maan's hand.
"Ouch!" he whines in sudden pain.
Geet takes his hand and blows on it. She takes off the scarf from her neck and tie it on Maan's hand.
"Bohat dard ho raha hai?" she asks him
Maan nods a no while looking at geet sweetly.
Maan again tries to knock the door and his wounded hand gets hurt again.
Geet says concerned "Maan, leave it! When someone will realize that we are missing, they'll surely come looking for us!" Geet knows that Maan is hurt and she did not want that his wound gets worse.
After some time, they sits down in the corner while leaning their backs on the wall.
After few seconds geet felt Maan's eyes on her. She looks at him and saw him looking at her intensely.
Geet felt uncomfortable from his stare and she remembers that he likes her and also realized that they are all alone in this small storeroom, and the sight of that night flashed in front of Geet's eyes. She closes her eyes to control herself and said "Aise kya dekh rahe ho Maan?"
"Dekh raha hoon ke tum itne saalon tak kahaan thi? Tum mujhe is se pehle kiyun nahin mili?!"
"Maan please!" geet murmured while looking down. Her heartbeats has already started fluttering without her permission.
Maan holds her chin gently and made her look up "Kiyun tadpa rahi ho Geet? Bol do na, ke tum bhi mujhse pyar karti ho! Bolo na geet!" and he starts leaning towards her.
Geet looks at what he's doing and says firmly "Stop Maan!"
Maan gets back and looks at her.
Geet looks away a bit uncomfortably and controlling herself she says "I have already told you Maan, that I don't love you. There is no such thing as love in this world. And anybody pretending otherwise, are just fooling themselves. Love is just for losers!! I don't believe in love and I don't think I'll ever believe in that shit word!!!" she looks away trying to control her anger.
"Someone has hurted you." She heard him say. It was not a question but a simple statement but she can hear anger in his voice.
Geet felt tears welding up in her eyes. She felt chocked in her throat.
"Geet, who is he? I promise you wo kal ka suraj nahin dekhega geet. He will have to pay for hurting you geet." Geet can feel his body close by getting stiffened with anger.
Geet looks at him but then again looks away and says "It wasn't his fault Maan. It was I who was stupid enough to fall for him. Infact I'm thankful to him that he has taught me a very important lesson: never love anybody."
"Geet, you cant be cynical towards love. Just because one guy hurts you, doesn't mean every guy will. I know you will think that its easy for me to say this because I'm not going through that pain, but please trust me on this geet when I say ke wo ladka bohat hi bevkoof hoga, jo tumhein chhodega. You are beautiful, smart and very cute. You are different from everybody. You are special Geet!"
Geet looks at him with a sad smile with tears still flowing from her eyes.
"Really?" geet asks making a baby face. She needed this self-esteem booster very much at this moment.
Maan wipes her tears and chuckles a little at her and says teasingly "Of course sweetheart! Haan yeh aur baat hai, ke tum thodi si moti ho, aur thodi si naati ho" geet frowns at his teasing and her mouth fell open in surprise "thodi si sirfiri bhi ho" she slaps him on his arm and scold him "Maan!!"
Maan smiles and finishes "par ho ek dam unique piece!! [yea its different thing that u are a bit fat, and a bit short, and a bit crazy too, but still u r unique piece]
Geet smiles and hugs him. Maan consoles her while stroking her hair with his hands.
After some time geet says while still hiding her face in his chest "Thanks Maan."
Maan make her look up and says sweetly "Geet, you don't have to thank me! I love you geet!!"
Geet looks at him and felt strange feeling in her heart. He is so different from Vicky! In fact he is better than him!!
He bends his face towards geet's and kissed her softly on her lips. Geet couldn't figure out as if what she should do or how she should react, but at last she gave up. She was too tired of thinking about everything that she just wants to make this hurt go away and his kisses always leave her mind blank. So she kissed him back loosing all her pain in the passion.
Maan's kiss started out as slow and sweet, but it didn't stay that way for long. As his kiss deepened, his hands began to explore her body. And his hands slided down under her top when...
Suddenly lights flashed on them. Geet broked the kiss and looks towards the source of the lights and saw that the door has opened and a lot of press reporters were clicking their pictures.
Geet was in total shock. She couldn't understand what the hell was going on!!
And then the reporters bombarded all kinds of dirty questions towards them about their relationship and what they were doing here!!!
Geet was speechless due to shock. She felt Maan's arm around her shoulders protectively and he was glaring at the media angrily and said at the top of his voice
"ENOUGH!!! With whose permission have you entered here???!!!!!"
Reporter: Mr. Maan Khurana, is this your latest girlfriend?
R: what were you two doing here?
R: Excuse me miss, what's your name?
R: For how long is this going on?
R: How do you feel to be with the most eligible bachelor of India?
Geet felt tears coming in her eyes from embarrassment and shame and she hung her head down in embarrassment and tries to hide behind Maan's back.
Maan sees geet crying and glares at the media angrily and says
"Its enough!! Just because I'm not saying anything, doesn't mean you can say anything you want!"
R: Who is she Mr. Maan?
Maan holds Geet's hand and geet looks at him with tears still in her eyes.
Maan says "This is my fiance Geet! And we are getting married pretty soon!!"
Whole room fell silent for a moment at Maan's sudden revelation. And then the reporters bombard them about new kind of questions.
Geet looks at Maan shocked.
Maan takes geet out without answering anymore questions.
Geet was in too much shock to protest anything.
Maan makes geet sit in his car and drove off.
After few minutes of drive, geet gains senses, and she remembers everything. She looks at Maan sitting in the driver's seat and driving the car mechanically.
Geet says sternly "Maan stop the car."
Maan stops the car but doesnot look at geet.
Geet was loosing her temper with every passing second and she says "How dare you Maan? How dare you say that we are getting married and that too in front of the media!!"
Maan said angrily "So what else you wanted me to say Geet?" geet was shocked to see him equally angry. "Huh? Bolo Geet?? Agar main wo naa kehta, to kal har newspaper or har news channel pe, tumhari izzat ki dhajjiyan udh gayi hoti!! Do you even realize what condition we were in when they clicked our pictures?!!"
Geet knew what he meant, but she was just not ready to accept the consequences of it.
"So what will we do now?" she words her thoughts as her mind was already working fast to find some way out of the current situation.
Maan looks at her intensely and says "Geet, is it necessary to do something?"
Geet narrows her eyes in confusion and asks "What do you mean?"
"I mean I love you geet and I really want to marry you!" Maan says while still looking intensely in her eyes.
Geet closes her eyes to control herself. It needs a lot of courage to hurt him again and again. Geet was not liking the feeling of refusing him again and again but he was leaving her with no other option. Why doesn't he give it a rest and move on??!!!
"Maan please don't start it again. I'm sorry but I cant marry you." She said with her eyes still closed.
Geet felt the car has started moving again. She opens her eyes and looks towards Maan who was looking ahead on the road but anger was clearly visible on his face.
"Maan?" geet whispered a little scared at his not responding.
Maan did not reply and kept on driving. He increased the speed of the car with every passing second.
Geet tried again "Maan?"
But he still didn't reply and changed the gears harshly.
Now geet was seriously scared. The car was moving at 120km/hr in the city. Normally geet doesn't mind fast driving but this was way too fast and she knows that he was angry; and anger and driving never go hand in hand.
Geet almost screamed as Maan did a narrow cut near a truck "Maan slow down! Are you trying to kill me?"
No reply and he just kept on driving.
Geet again screams "Maan stop the car!!!"
But he didn't stop.
Geet was feeling nauseated by looking at the road, so she closed her eyes in fear and yelled one last time "Maan, if I die today, I'm gonna kill you!!!!"
And she felt the car stopped.
She opened her eyes slowly while breathing heavily in fear and looked around. The car was outside her house.
She let out a sigh of relief and looked at Maan "Maan are you psycho?! Just because I refused to marry you, you wanted to kill me?" she didn't realize that she was still yelling.
Maan glares at her angrily and said "Get down!"
Geet would get down with pleasure. She promised herself mentally that she is never gonna sit in his car again specially when he's driving.
Geet was gonna give him a piece of her mind on how he scared the hell out of her, but before she could say something, he drove off.
When geet went inside, she couldn't get rid of the feeling about whether he reached home safely or not! She knew he was very angry and she has just seen his rash driving!! 'What if something happens to him?! Nahin nahin Babaji!! Please use ghar sahi salaamat pahuncha dena!!!" but only a prayer was not gonna satisfy her worry. She was anxious.
At last she gave up and called his mobile, but he didn't picked it up! She gets more anxious. She says to herself "Haaye Babaji! Why isn't he picking it up?"
She calls again but still no answer.
Geet called even his landline no. but still no one picked up. Now geet was seriously worried.
She decided she'll go and check on him personally but didn't knew his address. She was thinking who should she ask for and she remembers Vicky, but then she shakes off the thought. She did not want to call Vicky.
She tried Maan's mobile one more time but hopeless. At last she gave up and dials vicky's no.
Vicky: Hello
Geet thought of hanging up but then said coldly
Geet: Vicky, Geet bol rahi hoon.
Vicky: I know Geet. Bolo!
Geet: I need Maan's address.
She wanted to be quick and short.
Vicky said a bit hesitant
Vicky: sure. XYZ, Mumbai.
Geet said coldly
Geet: Thanks.
She was about to hang up when she heard him say
Vicky: geet, by the way, congratulations.
Geet was a bit confused
Geet: For what?
Vicky: For your engagement. I just saw the news on tv. I'm very happy for you!
But his voice sounded a bit sad.
Geet ignored the sadness in his voice and said coldly
Geet: Thanks.
And she hangs up and rushes out.
She takes a taxi. Now she was double worried. 'So the news have already telecasted on TV. Tomorrow it will be in every newspaper. Shitt!! What if the news reaches London?!!' now Geet was seriously worried.
"It is all Maan's fault! I don't know what he thinks of himself?! Akroo kahin ka!! Ek to galti karta hai, aur upar se attitude dikhata hai!! Aur upar se phone bhi nahin uthata!!! Ab bataao, agar phone liya hai to use uthana bhi seekh lo! Lekin nahin!! Waise to har kisi aire-gaire ka phone utha lega, lekin agar kabhi main phone karoon, to kabhi nahin uthayega!!! Ab baitha hoga kahin muh fula kar!" she kept blabbering on and on to herself.
"Ek baar mere haath aa jaao, dekhna, tumhara wo ghatiya phone toda nahin na, to mera bhi naam Geet Handa nahin!! Arre agar phone uthana hi nahin hai, to rakh ke kya fayeda!! Hai na? haan!!"
And the taxi stops and tells Geet that this is the address.
Geet rushes inside. Geet did not give a second thought to how big the bungalow was! It was almost like a palace.
Geet saw a servant and asks about Maan. Servant tells her that Maan is in his room.
Geet rushes towards where the servant has pointed for Maan's room. The servant calls after her that she cant go in his room but she did not listen.
Anger has taken place of worry. She was angry now that Maan didn't pick up her phone on purpose and that how worried she was from the last half an hour!!
She bangs into his room angrily without knocking and..
"Aaa..." A scream... oops!!!
