Thankyou friends for all the lovely comments. I just want to say taht please have patience. This is definately not a sad story.

Maan's heart lurched. He was used to seeing and treating patients everyday so he could not understand why it felt like his heart was shattering into thousand pieces. Why was it hurting? Why was it crying?

He slowly pulled himself together. Damn it!! He was a doctor and could not afford to get emotional about this. He has to be strong and make sure THEIR Geet get the best possible care. With great difficulty he focused his mind and started thinking.

He abruptly said (maybe a little louder than he wanted but poor guy…doesn't know what has hit him) - Are you sure. I mean nemocytis is a very painful disease. Can you handle it on your own?

Geet was startled by his non nonsense talk. She hadn't met him in 12 years but he was still part of the family. But now he was behaving like a stranger. "Dusht Danav", she muttered under her breath.

She also said in her business like avatar voice – "I know what I am doing. I have managed till now and I will continue to do so". But in her heart, Geet still had full faith on Maan (even she doesn't know where that came from). "I am ok with whatever plan you make but my only wish is to see my brother's marriage video before I go for any surgery if that is on the card".

Geet suddenly felt very tired and sat down. Her behavior did not go unnoticed by brown chocolate eyes of Maan and involuntarily he walked to her and patted her shoulder. Geet smiled slightly at the concern visible in his eyes. She somewhere understood his conflict between his emotions and his professionalism. She realized that he really needs to cling to his professional side; more for her sake than anything else.

Rishab, Maan and Geet started discussing the next steps. Rishab called Raj and told him that he and Maan will not be able to make to wedding. Rishab mentioned that he was not well and running high temperature and Maan is being adamant to stay back and look after him. Rishab felt bad telling a lie to Raj, Nisha and Juhi but he could do anything for his daughter. Juhi was concerned for Rishab's health. She knew that only a very bad state can force Rishab to miss Rahul's marriage. Rishab somehow convinced her to be with Nisha as things were not good in Delhi either.

Maan got Geet admitted in the Leelavati hospital and immediately asked Lab to run some urgent tests after studying her current reports. Maan always gave his best to each case but this case was not simply a case. His whole family's happiness rested on the outcome (Poor guy, doesn't understand that his entire life depends on this). He knew that he had to do better than best. He can't afford to loose this battle. For the first time he felt that his being a doctor will be futile if he could not save Geet. Somewhere he thanked his destiny that he didn't let go of his research project. There was a new sense of purpose for him. After all, this was about Geet, apple of the entire family (after all both Khuaranas were one family).

After two days….

Geet was watching the video of Rahul's marriage for the fourth time. Her head was on Rishab's shoulder who was stroking her head lovingly.

Maan entered the room and saw tears glistening in their eyes. Geet sighed looking at Maan and switched off the television. She hugged Rishab and said Thanks. Rishab chided her for it and looked at Maan expectantly.

Maan informed them of the test results. Based on the same, he suggested an immediate surgery using laser.. His heart was bleeding but he kept a professional demeanor and explained all the risks. He highlighted that survival chances were low due to complexity of the surgery bur Geet was young and that was in her favor. He also told her about the difficult post operative period as Geet will be in lot of pain. She will loose lot of physical ability for next few weeks due to brain surgery hitting her nerves and sensory system.
