A Maaneet Tale

Yeah yeah, I know you guys aren't gonna like my update's as much but i'll make the plot as interesting as possible! But please like my updates because it encourages me to write more😳

Chapter 19

"Patanahi kya kiya tha pichle zamane me, ke ye sehana parna hai" I mumbled to myself as I paced up and down for like the gazillionth time.

The next thing I heard was footsteps and I looked down the window. I watched as Maan climbed up the ladder and jumped inside my room, instantly pulling me towards him.

Maan: "I love you" he said and hid his face in my neck. His hands snaked up my kameez and rested on my waist. His touch gave me goosebumps on my arms.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and bought myself as close to his warm body as I could. He kissed me like we hadn't kissed in years, exploring every inch of my mouth, and then gently nibbling my lip to finish it off.

I sighed and let him control me. My back still pained but it vanished instantly when he was here.

My soul mate, my love, my soul, my heart, my everything.

He made everything better. Whenever I was near him, it was like I could forget about the sorrows and feel safe and secure. Like everything was going to be alright.

"I would die without you" I said as he trailed hot, burning kisses up my jaw.

Maan: "Can we promise each other something?" he whispered in my ear

"Anything"

Maan: "Promise we will die together and meet in heaven" he said and hugged me tightly as if he was in fear of losing me. I smiled.

"Promise. I'll never leave you"

Maan: "I promise I will never leave you either. No matter what happens" he said and I trusted him. He had proved that already.

"Geet!" somebody called out for me, ruining our peaceful moment together. We both widened our eyes and looked towards the door which was open and free for anybody to come in. The pathway was empty but I could see Nandini nearing the corner which lead to my room.

"Geet, come and have your medicines" she said and before Maan could make a move and get out of there, she saw us.

Together.

Embracing.

Nandini opened her mouth in shock and ran up the pathway which lead to my bedroom. She looked at Maan, and then at me. Back at Maan, and then at me again.

Nandini took a deep breath.

Nandini: "Beej --" but before she could complete her sentence I put my hand on her mouth and closed the door with my free hand.

"If you scream, I will kill you" I threatened and released my hand slowly from her mouth.

Nandini: "Why are you with... With... With... Bal... Balwant?" she stuttered and pointed at my husband with her trembling finger.

Nandini: "Alone... Together... In a room? HUGGING EACH OTHER?!" she exclaimed and I turned to looked at Maan who was as still as a statue.

I tried to think of a logical explanation in my mind.

"Woh... Woh... Woh... Ha! He was putting up the curtains in my room" I said and thanked Baabaji for the great idea.

Nandini: "You both were HUGGING" she said and put a hand on her hip and narrowed her eyes.

You know what? I thought of just telling the truth. I was caught. WE were caught. It was like we were a high school couple, sneak-romancing in our bedroom.

"Fine. Do you REALLY want to hear the truth?" I asked, hoping she'd say no but I knew she would say yes.

Nandini nodded.

So I turned to Maan, and took off his turban, and his fake mustache. I presented him in front of Nandini.

"Ta da" I exclaimed and watched Nandini's face form an expression of horror.

Nandani: "Jeeja Ji?" she squeaked and looked at him up and down. Maan looked away and put his hand on his neck.

"You cannot tell this to anyone! Look... I'll explain okay?" I said and before she could say something like "There's nothing to explain" and "How can you do this to me" and "I trusted you" and all that... I explained.

I explained how Maan put up a charade of 'leaving' and coming back as a driver called Balwant Singh. I explained how he wanted to win Maasi Ji and everyone else's heart so they would accept Maan as a good, and faithful husband. I explained everything to Nandani, even our meeting sneakily and how he used the ladder to come up. Everything.

Her reaction was simply shock. She looked at Maan up and down again and then smiled.

"Well Mr Maan Singh Khurana already won my heart. You can tell how much he loves you. He even left his big business and came here to work as a petty driver" she said and before Maan could reply, there was a knock on the door.

"Geet Beta?" somebody said and knocked.

It was Daadima.

I opened the door, let her in, and then closed the door again. I explained everything to Daadima, how Nandini knew what was going on and how she was in with the plan.

Daadima: "Right. I put in sleeping pills in the chef's drink. Nobody is here to cook the dinner. It is now Balwant's job to cook" she said and looked pointedly at Maan.

Maan: "But I don't even know how to cook!" he said and looked at me for a solution. I simply looked back at him and shrugged helplessly.

Daadima: "Nandani will be in the kitchen with you. Right, dear?" she said and looked at Nandani for her reaction. She nodded obediantly.

It was all set.

"Maybe I can cook?" I suggested to the family.

Just then, Lucky came up to me. He put his hands on his hips and chuckled slightly.

Lucky: "So... Balwant Singh can cook?" he said and pushed his already short sleeves up even shorter.

I looked straight ahead.

Lucky: "Let's test you then. How do you make Lassi?" he said and I froze. I glanced at Nandani and then at Geet and then back at Lucky again.

I cleared my throat.

"You... You... First you add..." I stuttered and pretended to itch my neck. I was in the kitchen with Geet one day when she was making Lassi... What did she add in?

And then I suddenly remembered the first ingrediant.

"You blend yogurt with crushed ice and add sugar until it's foamy" I remembered and glanced at Geet who looked back at me in shock.

Lucky, who was chuckling slightly froze and then turned to look at me. He waited for my next ingrediant.

"You... Uh... You add a bit of salt... Some water" I stuttered, trying to remember what else she had added in.

"Mix it together and... That's it" I ended confidently and looked at everyone who looked back at me in slight shock.

Lucky chuckled slightly again patted me on the shoulder.

Maasi Ji: "What else can you make?" she asked me and I turned at Nandani for help.

Nandani: "Chawal. Curry. Dhaal. Parathe" she mouthed

"Uh... Chawal, curry, Dhaal, Parathe, and lots more" I recited her words

Maasi Ji: "What desserts can you make?" she asked me next and again, I glanced at Nandani for help.

Nandani: "Jalebi. Sweetmeats. Ladoo. Ras --" she smiled back at Lucky who turned to look at her just at that moment.

"I can make lots of sweets like Jalebi, Sweetmeats, Ladoo and Ras" I froze and glanced at Nandani, not knowing what to say next.

Nandani rolled her eyes, as if saying "Duh, how can you not know what that is?"

Nandani: "Malai" she mouthed in exhasperation.

"Rasmalai" I ended off and crossed my shoulder across my chest confidently.

Maasi Ji *hmmphed* and shooed me to the kitchen. I immediately ran off to the kitchen, feeling suffocated. I drank a cup of water from the tap as if I was a dying man and wiped the sweat off my brow.

Nandani: "Right. First thing your gonna make is dhaal, and chawal. So let's get started" she said and handed me the apron.

"If you really think your that cool then why don't you make it yourself?" I asked, irritated and wore the apron.

Nandani rolled her eyes and got out the ingrediants. She recited the process and in the end, I finally made it. I began to take off the apron but she stopped me.

Nandani: "Not so fast" she said and got out some more ingrediants.

Nandani: "Lassi" she said and pointed at the ingrediants. I didn't need help for this one, I already knew what I was doing.

I made the Lassi, poured it into cups and fixed them on a tray. After that, I wiped sweat off from my shoulder with the back of my hand and put my hands on my hips. My eye caught Geet coming in the kitchen and I watched as her expression turned to shock.

Geet: "You made this?" she asked and looked at the food, and then me, at the food, and then at me again.

"Yes" I said and I instantly felt her body against mine.

Geet: "I'm so, so, so, so, so, so, so, proud of you! I can't believe my husband as learned to COOK!" she hugged me and kissed me on the cheek.

Nandani cleared her throat.

Geet: "Nandani, thank you so, so, so, so, so, so much! You made my husband COOK!" she exclaimed and hugged her as well. I rolled my eyes and held the tray of food.

To be quite honest, even I was proud of myself.

I headed up to the dining table with the food in my hands. I set it down and placed the food on the table. Nandani passed me the tray of drinks and I set that on the table as well.

Geet served everyone the food and I watched everybody eat. I watched the expressions on their faces carefully as they ate.

Maasi Ji put her spoon down and turned to look at me. I crossed my fingers.

Maasi Ji: "Bohot acha bana hai" she said and gave me a faint smile. I smiled back and breathed a sigh of relief.

Teji: "Really Balwant, this is amazing" he said and helped himself to some more rice. Nandani elbowed me and then nodded at me reassuringly. Daadima winked at me and Geet smiled.

So far, so good.

Loved it yaar hope to see maaneet' SR soon where he sneaks in geet's room and in the night and get intimate without anybody's spoiling it.😆 .plsss continue soon.
