Very nice update ...n I hope u update in near future n dun make us wait for 1 more month for next update i wont and really try hard not too... actually graduated and it was a waiting confusing time.. job or PG.. finally i am doing PG and i can think again..phew!!!..but it was worth the waiting ...the part was superb in every way ...i am glad u liked itSujal really likes kashish ..after all she is so innocent ...hehehee he never met anyone as guiless as her before...

CHAPTER 12

When Ridhima quizzed Kashish about her lunch date with Kashish, Kashish took Sujal's advice and told her that she was too busy at work and couldn't go out to meet him. Ridhima ofcourse didn't believe her, she knew Kashish would move heavens if she had to meet Akshay, but kept quite. Ridhima firmly believed that if Kashish didn't want to tell her something and she looked liked she was dealing well with it then she shouldn't interfere. She was sure Kashish would tell her if the matter was serious and she needed help.

But Kashish's phone conversation with Akshay didn't go as smoothly.

Akshay was ready to gloat and feel empowered when Kashish had called, he was sure she would be tearful and desperate for answers, instead Kashish had been cheerful and had apologized without the slightest hint of guilt in her voice. Having his balloon pricked, Akshay learned that apparently if he had bothered to show up, he would have been stood up. Akshay Kendrick stood up!! Instantly forgetting what he had deliberately done his pride was stung and anger took over. He shouted at Kashish for being rude and unfeeling. He also decided that he needed to have some revenge for the insult, he needed t remind Kashish that he could still make her dance to his tunes no matter what she said about herself and Sujal.

Akshay came up with simple enough plan. He invited Kashish to a place where she would be totally out of her element, he invited her when it would be her day off, so she can't stand him up. Kashish refused at first but he knew how to coax her into agreeing and finally had her agree to meet him at a disc.

"A disc? At night, no way. I don't like this." Ridhima said after hearing all about it.

"C'mon Ridhima!! I don't expect you to behave like this. Why are you being so old fashioned? Everyone goes to a disc. Why shouldn't I? I mean you are just overreacting." Kashish pouted stubbornly.

"No. It's not… Kashish you'll be alone there. And you don't even know the roads, what if he leaves you there? How are you going to get back home? Huh?" Ridhima said trying her best to dissuade Kashish. She sounded over cautious and old fashioned to her own self but it just didn't feel right to let Kashish go. Ridhima gut told her not to let Kashish do it and she was going to follow that feeling.

"Really Ridhima! There are taxies. I know the address. Plus I am not expecting him to bring me home. I am coming back myself. Just trust me. I'll be alright."

"I trust you Kashish. And you trust everybody else. That's the whole problem. Look, I am not going to stop you. I can't stop you infact, even though I want to. But I disapprove and to show it I am not gonna help you either."

Kashish looked at Ridhima open mouthed as if she had grown a forked tail suddenly, "You can't mean that!!" she screeched, "You have to help me! I won't know what to do there. What to where there. What to say. What not to say. You have to help me!" Kashish grabbed Ridhima by her arm and shook her hard.

"No." Ridhima shook off her hands, "He didn't show up today, did he?" Ridhima asked angrily.

"He.. It doesn't matter. Just help me with this please."

"No. He has hurt you so many times, I can't even count. I have had it. I won't see you getting hurt anymore. I thought it would be good for you to learn to stand you for yourself and learn new things but this is going beyond that. Kashish honey, why don't you try and leave him? You don't even try. "

"I don't want to try. I don't.. I… I won't ask you for help Ridhima. I am sorry I had been bothering you for so long. I'll figure something out. You are right any way. I should be independent enough by now to deal with this. And if I am not, then I probably don't deserve him anyway.." Kashish said pulling herself together looking as brave as she could manage and Ridhima wanted to immediately apologize and tell her she would help.

Before her heart could completely go out to her, Ridhima turned and left.

Kashish stood blankly in middle of hundred of beautiful dresses. She has been looking and searching for almost 3 hr!!! Even the glitter and shine of new clothes was giving her a headache now. For a moment a dress would look perfect and then she would try it on and it would be either too trashy or too behenji…. Kashish considered calling Ridhima and cajoling her, but her spine stiffened with stupid pride.

I am sure Scarlett would never have had to face such a problem. She thought miserably and made her way to the food court, head hanging down. And just as if her luck was eternally cursed she smacked into another person. God why can she walk around primly with her nose high in air?!

"Coz that would make you look too proud and cold. Which you are not." a voice answered her thought as strong arms wrapped around her to steady her.

"Sujal!!!" Kashish beamed up into the amused face, her mood lifted instantaneously.

"Kashish." He aid smiling down at her and after a moment realized that he was still holding her, he released her quickly, "this is a surprise, seeing you in a mall"

"Yah well… " Kashish said for the loss of anything better to say.

"Were you going to eat?" Sujal asked.

Kashish nodded thinking hard.

"Mind if I join you?"

Kashish smiled and said yes, a plan forming.

20 minutes they were seated with their food, talking about Sujal's house and things in general, when Kashish cautiously broached the subject.

"So you were shopping?" she said eyes averted twiddling with her fork.

"It's a mall.." Sujal said questioningly…

"Well I know.. I was just wondering if you were done with your shopping maybe you can help me…"

"You need someone to carry around your bags." Sujal deadpanned. No matter how much a nice girl he considered Kashish to be he was not going to be dragged around the mall like a damned porter.

"Oh no! No, I mean, I haven't bought anything.. Actually I needed your advice."

"Oh you're doing Easter shopping too? I didn't know you people celebrated it."

"Uh no… We don't actually. Oh… here I go, this I embarrassing. Do you know what kind of dress should I buy to wear to a disc? Ok, don't answer of you don't want to. I know I shouldn't have asked., it's jut I had sort of disagreement with Ridhima and she won't help me select and I wanted to show her that I could but now I can't and I know it's stupid but I kinda don't want her to know that I couldn't do anything without her help. Which by the way is exactly, what the truth is." Kashish rushed and took a deep breath, and dared to peek at Sujal. He looked as if he was fighting hard not to smile or laugh at her.

"Well?" Kashish asked after a few seconds..

"Well…. I don't know… I guess some dress…or maybe a skirt…" Sujal said after thinking hard.

Kashish felt like banging her head against the table. What was she thinking before opening her mouth? Ofcourse she wasn't thinking, scarlet had overtaken her.

"Or why don't you show me what you like and I can tell you if it's… ok…" Sujal offered after seeing Kashish's stricken expression and already felt the regret. Being a porter was bad enough, telling woman what to dress in was even worse. They always asked and never approved of the advice.

"Oh would you? Really!!! Oh thankyou, Thankyou!!!", Kashish almost jumped out of her chair in her delight.

Sujal managed a tight smile and started preparing himself for next few hours. Surprisingly to him it wasn't as bad as he thought. Kashish was full of doubt and very apprehensive but not at him rather over her own decision. Infact after half an hour Sujal was feeling very good. All he had to do was point and Kashish would go and change into that. Like a private fashion show and the model wasn't half bad to look at. The thought jerked Sujal back to reality and he shook his head.

Why did he sometimes forget that Kashish was a friend and was hopelessly in love with someone else?

Sujal frowned and shook his head as Kashish came out wearing a black slim fit skirt and a deep cut blouse looking extremely uncomfortable.

Although the clothes looked good, but they weren't her. for an absurd minute Sujal thought that she was too innocent to wear black and again shook his head. What did he eat?! What was wrong with his head?

Looking around, Sujal searched for something that would be exactly right for her and finally came upon it, simple white dress with a slight flare, reaching up to her knees, the top was cross over and broad black belt at the center, the cut was perfect for her and Sujal felt absurdly proud.

Must be the food. Must have gone bad.

Ashe thought as he returned Kashish's delighted beaming smile when she whirled and twirled around in her dress.

"Oh it's perfect!! Thankyou so much!! How can I ever repay you?"

"Go out with me." Sujal said before he could think and Kashish gave him a wide eyed look.

"I mean go out and shop with me tomorrow..I spent 2 hrs with you while I was supposed to shop. I have to buy gifts for the whole family. They all come down at our house for Easter holidays."

"Oh.. sure… I'd love to." Kashish said regaining her lively mood instantly and Sujal heaved a sigh of relief, promising to never eat at this particular food court again, whatever did they mix in their food? Marijuana?

"Good. So shall I pick you up at around 1 tomorrow?" Sujal asked as they both made their way outside.

"Oh no, I'll meet you here. My sister.. I don't want her to lecture me… I don't know why she thinks you are devil incarnate." Kashish said.

"Hmm well it's ok.. I like my reputation. So I'll see you here at one?"

Kashish nodded and tried to catch a taxi.

"Let me drop you home."

"Ridhima."

Sujal pictured a fire breathing dragon flying around a high tower with single window.

"Fine then, see you tomorrow." Sujal smiled and opened the taxi door for her. Kashish slid in and waved Sujal good bye, while Sujal stood and saw the taxi drive away until he couldn't see it anymore.
