heya everyone...😊😃😊 finally i am updating this after a long long time...and i am happy that my examz are done and my friend's love story is seeing a new hieght. she is getting engaged this week. i am sooo happy. cant wait to write that update. lolz abhi yeh update padlo...😉😆

chapter 3: memories

as she sat on the swing her mind raced to her childhood days. her brother was her biggest support and nobidy had ever loved her as much as her brother had. When she was 5 years old her it was brij who took her to school and brought her back. brij was 10 then and he had always felt that she was his sole responsibility. and his friends too looked after geet like their own sister. there was a time when geet used to play in the playground with her socks and shoes in the sand. and when she couldn't put them back on her feet, she used to rush to brij's class with a sad and teary faced, with her socks and shoes in her hands. she used to look at him and towards her friends, one of them would give a lame reason and come out of the class to make her wear her shoes and wiped her tears and made her smile. such was the love between brij, his friends and geet.

today somewhere down the lane she missed that warmth. there were times when brij and his friends had beaten up a guy just coz he was following her. there was big fuss about it and even police were included. the only thing was that geet dint knew much abt it. but she knew how much brij cared abt her. but today she dint know why brij was not supporting but instead was supporting her parents. her memories and her emotions had come down in the form of tears. she dint know when she had drifted to sleep.

sam came in and directly went to find geet. she knew geet would be in the garden. she smiled at her fragile and delicate form sleeping like a kid on the swing. she went towards it to wake her up but somebody stopped her. it was brij. he nodded a no. sam understood and stepped back. brij went towards the swing and kept his hand on geet's head. she woke up slowly but on seeing him there she got up in a shock and stood up and went and stood with sam with teary eyes. sam was just dumbstruck. she knew that brij was the first person geet would trust at any cost and today she just backed off.

sam knew geet was hurt but to this extent she dint know. she just watched from geet to brij awestruck. all these days she had only seen brij and geet hug each other or laughing with each other. this situation had never occured and as much as geet had told her abt her life such a thing had never ever happened. she was confused.

"geet plz listen to me just once", brij asked in a husky tone. geet held up her hand to stop. she turned and tried to go to her room but sam held up her hand. "geet u should give ur brother a chance to explain himself, dont punish him this way", she said and nodded to her. geet looked at sam shocked,"sam have you gone mad? they are ruining my life and you expect me to give them a chance to explain??? Never!!!", she tried to go but sam dint let her go. " geet for my sake???", sam looked at geet with pleading eyes. brij too looked at her with same emotion in his eyes "geet just once" he said. geet looked from sam to brij and after few minutes she nodded for a yes. sam hugged her and whispered "thanks" and left the brother and sister alone and went inside.

geet looked at the way sam retired and looked at brij with pained eyes and looked away. brij came near her and put a hand on her shoulder "geet". she closed her eyes, "just finish whatever you want to tell me soon", and she turned her back to him. brij was hurt but he knew that geet was hurt more. he started, "geet i know you are hurt, but listen to me just this once! plz...!!! i know you wanted to get married after ur studies were completed and i know what ur dream means to you. have i not supported you all this while for whatever you have asked for or done??? but all this while i have just blindly been with you for everything, but have you ever thought why i have done all this for you???", he turned towards geet and made her face him. she was crying very badly. brij wiped her tears and she hugged him and cried her heart out.

brij waited patiently for her to calm down before he continued. he made her sit on the swing and he too sat beside her, "geet we are ur family whatever we try to do its for ur good only. if today we have decided to get you married off its only because we have found someone who is worthy of you. we dont want you to marry someone who is not worth you. moreover the decision is not in our hands. its all god's wish and how can you expect us to go against it??? we have never tried to hurt you in any way geet. he is a nice guy, well educated, and has a good character. uncle says he's the best bachelor in NY and he is smitten just by looking at ur pic. it's all in the fate geet. you both are made for each other. talk to him or meet him. if not once, twice, we have no problem and then decide. we are not forcing you into it. we are just asking you to know him so that you can make ur choice. if after meeting him you feel he's not the one then be it. we wont force you into this geet because we love you and your happiness is what we want and nothing less".

he looked at her. he made her face her and smiled. she was not crying but brij guessed she understood what they were trying to do. "geet are you alright??", he finally asked. she nodded. "does that mean you are ready to know him???", she nodded. brij was happy, "thank you so much geet!!! give me 5mins i'll be back with his pic and his biodata", he left the place. geet now understood clearly what her family was trying to do and dint protest. she felt she had to apologise to them but it had to wait. she made herself understand that everything happens for good and smiled. sam coughed. she smiled at her. "see i told you, one chance makes a big difference!!!", ans went and sat near geet. geet hugeed sam tightly. "geet u r crushing me dear", geet broke from the hug and looked at her and they both boke out laughing.
