PART 9
CAN YOU ALL SUGGEST ME A TITLE for this story?
Geet walked in to her office. Thank god it was Friday. She always look forward to this day. Specially on weekend she have her mahek 24 hours with her. Only little homework. That's all.
Geet sat in her office when adi walked in with few files.
'Do I have more appointment today?'. Geet pointed her eye brow up with thousands of question.
Adi laughed like a weirdo, than answered. 'No, maan sir rang and arranged lunch. That's all.'
'Maan!, isn't he busy today?' Geet curiously questioned. 'He is always busy. I never saw him free.'
'He is, but I think his secretary told me, he is not coming in office today, but have small discussion with you about his mahek project.' Adi confusingly replied. Unable to understand who this mahek was.
Geet nodes gently.
The afternoon came quick again. Maan have already send his driver to pick her up. The whole office found the situation of geet meeting the boss to often sounded fishy. There was even someone suggesting that they may have some relationship.
Geet ignored all the nonsense.
The car stopped outside of Maan's farm house. There was few other car, it must be other investor who is investing in maheks project. Geet walked in, in middle of the meeting.
'Aww, here is my wife.' Maan smiled and came close to geet. He slides his hand around her waist, bringing her closer than slowly walked towards the busy table.
There were a lot of welcome gesture from different clients. Geet just smiled way. Sammera did not look happy, but that was geet's least concern.
'Hello mrs khurana. We were only discussing about your daughter favorite color. We want to start our first project under certain theme, and we thought about venue should be under favorite color of mahek.
Geet uncomfortably smiled. 'Actually, she Doesn't have any favorite color. She loves all the color.' Geet looked at maan for little help.
Maan surprisingly looked at geet than leaned back at his chair with a amusing smile. Geet did not understand.
'Thats sweet.' Sammera spoke. 'Maan does not have any favorite color as well. I guess father and daughter have a lot of thing in common.' She suggested.
Geet uncomfortably smiled and looked way.
'That is very sweet.' One of the clint informed.
'I guess multicolor theme. Rainbow!' Maan finalized.
'I think that will be nice!'
As the meeting came to an end, geet and maan said goodbye to everyone. Sammera was the only one left behind.
Geet staid there, she really needs to speak to maan regarding her concern, but sammera being there won't help. She waited few more minute wondering maybe she will go but she didn't. Instead she walked back in to the farm house.
Geet looked at maan awkwardly. 'I think I should leave.' Geet smiled.
'No! I mean...' Maan fumbled.
'You seemed busy! I will come back later!' geet smiled.
Geet awkwardly smiled.
'Did you come home this morning?' Maan questioned.
'Yes...' Geet spoke thoughtfully. 'I had some important ...' She stopped when sammera came back outside.
'Are you planning to stay here all afternoon under the hot sun?' She pointed her eye brow up at maan.
Maan looked at geet. Maybe little scared with the thought what geet maybe thinking! Maan ignored Sam and looked at geet. ' you were saying something.'
'No! It's ok. We will talk later.' Geet smiled at maan and than at Sam. 'Have a nice day.'
'Geet, lunch is ready...' Maan stopped her. 'Its just two of us. Sam is leaving.'
Sam did not like the idea as she looked way. Geet looked at sammeras uncomfortable face and than at maan. 'Lets go!' He held geets hand and took her in as Sam stood there little taken back.
Geet looked back at Sam who stood at the same place. Annoyed maybe.
...
The lunch was ready on the table. Only for two, maybe Sam was planing for quit dinner of two. 'You just told sammera to get out on her face. It wasn't very nice.'
'I haven't. She is a investor like any other, and as they all left, she should leave as well.'
Sammera walked in as maan and geet took there sit opposite one another. Maan looked up with little annoying face.
'Sorry, I forgot my purse!' Sammera looked at geet annoyingly and than left.
Geet ignored the whole situation. This jealousy business wasn't her concern, but her daughter business is a very big concern to her.
'You were saying something!' Maan spoke while taking a spoonful of pasta.
'Yes, it's about mahek, relating to what you told me few nights back.' Geet came straight to the point.
Maan stopped eating instantly.
'I know what relationship we share, which is least concern to me, but I hope you are aware that mahek is only my child, and that could start by calling someone els mother.' She spoke with little arrogant.
Maan understood what she was talking about instantly and nodded his head negatively to say something.
'Let me finish maan!' Geet stopped him. 'You and sammera are to gather and always will be together. I don't mind. I don't even care, but I do care if you interfere with my child's life. She already went through a lot because of you, now I don't want her to have this abnormal thought about how messed up her parents life are. So please maan I request to you to keep sammera way from my children. I don't like people crossing the line. I hope you understand that.'
Geet looked at the plateful of pasta, which was near to cold.
Maan sat there quietly, spinning his spoon, wondering how to reply to her words.
They sat there quietly for while, trying to finish the lunch but neither could.
'I think I should leave now...' Geet finally broke the silence.
'Stay for couple of hours...' Maan suggested...
Geet guessed exactly for what reason, so she nodded...
It wasn't long before they were in bed making love.
...
Geet quickly changed her cloths after the shower. She looked back at maan who was in deep sleep. He must be tired, specially after how busy he is all the time. She wore a new sari, changing quickly.
Geet have to pick mahek up in 30 minutes from the school. She closed her eyes thinking what if she is late. She nodes her head negatively and rushed out, bumping in to sammera. She wasn't amused to see her changed with wet hair.
'Hi!' Geet uncomfortably smiled and hoped in to her car. Telling driver to hurry to maheks school.
...
Sammera knew well maan and geet is husband and wife, than what was bothering her. She walked in to the farm house again... Slowly wondered around. Flowing the trail of the food on the floor. She looked way with little disgust. Than she walked to Maan's bedroom.
He was in deep sleep, half bare, half covered in duvet. The bedroom had the strange strong rose smell, which somewhere was killing her inside.
Yes she knows well that maan and geet share every possible thing a relationship should have but she did not like it. She couldn't stand the thought how maan and geet could spend hours on bed when she knows, only she is in Maan's heart. When she knows how depress and unhappy he is in his heart.
Sam came by and sat next to maan. Gently brushing his hair with tear threatening to escape.
'Why you doing this to me maan? What's my fault?' She almost whispered.
Maan without acknowledging who was exactly sitting on the bed, pulled her on top of him.
Sam almost moaned as he was about to kiss with eye close... 'Geet...'
He slowly opened his eyes to only discover sam on top of him. He shockingly looked at her, unable to come in conclusion why she is here! When he was with geet few minutes back.
'Sam!' He disbelievingly spoke. He pushed her off to the side, holding the duvet tightly over his bare body, annoyingly rubbed his forehead. 'What are you doing here?'
Sam stood up from the bed, quickly fixing her sari, than embarrassingly looked way.
'I... I thought!'
Maan disturbed Sam. 'Sam please leave. Let me get change!'
Sam gave maan an annoying glare and angrily walked out.
...
Maan covered his face than pushed his thick hair back. He was not sure what was running through her mind, yes he loves her dearly, and he always will, but there is something in his heart which is killing him inside. He can't even imagine what must be going through her at this moment of time, but at the same time, that's why he keeps her way! Than why?
...
Sam sat on the dining table, crushing the flower that was in her hand. The word geet was rushing through her head...
Maan walked out. He cooly put his hand in his pocket and looked at angry Sam.
'Does she does that often?' sam questioned without looking at maan.
Maan confusingly looked at Sam. 'What?'
'She plays with your hair!' She almost screamed.
Maan closed his eyes annoyingly, unable to put forward his words and ideas. Yes geet does. He doesn't know if geet likes it or not, but often when they having sex or on bed, relaxed, she always play with his hair... Of course today, he thought the same.
'What type of question is this Sam? And what are you doing here?'
'Dose she?' Sam completely ignored Maan's words and held her ground.
'I have no time for this nonsense!' Maan ignored and was about to walk out when Sam held his hand.
'Do you remember?' Her teary eyes looked at him with plead... 'How you - used- to say its me. Your Sam... Without even looking at me!- and now... I am so closed to you- that your cant even tell that it was me...' She spoke with shaky voice.
'Its been long!' Maan slowly mumbled. 'We are not together anymore...' It took a lot of courage to say those words to her.
'Than say it straight to my face.. Without any hesitation!' There lips were mere inch apart. Maan could feel every single throbbing heartbeat of her. It was painful, it hearts, and it was tearing him apart.
'Don't do this to me Sam, it will make me weak again.' Maan mumbled.
'You are a weak man maan. Because if you were strong, you would held my hand on that day and not your grandma.' Sam bitterly replied.
She pushed him way, forcing him to mover far way as possible. 'If you accepted me on that day our life could have been different maan!' She screamed. A agony was running through her vain. 'We could have adopted someone! OUR LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT TODAY...' Sam cried, sitting on the floor. 'Why did you do this to me maan? Why?' Sam covered her face.
'Do you know how much it hurts when I see you with her? I can't stand that. I can't. I am not that strong maan. I am not!'
Maan instantly came close, holding Sam in his embrace. Unable to understand what should he do to ease her pain. He thought, all those time was enough for her to move on, but he guessed it wrong.. Nor him nor Sam have moved on... And they could never move on because bond they share its too strong. He does not love geet, but she the mother of his child. She is his wife... That's a bond he could never break, than what about his and sam's relationship?
Maan's teary eyes fell on geet, who stood by the door silently, listening to every words.
Geet took a heavy breath. She was not sure what to expect, forgot in her selfish reason, Sam also have heart that is beating for maan, and same for maan, which was beating for Sam. But she have always been clear with him that she does not require any explanation about his and Sam relationship. She is fine in her own world and let maan be in his, but one thing she can not accept is sharing her children. She is no puppet or match maker... She does not have that big heart.
'Geet!' Maan mumbled...
Both instantly separated, while geet stood there motionless.
'Sorry, I came at the wrong time. I will come back later!' Geet mumbled and left...
Maan rushed out. Leaving Sam there...
'Geet! Stop... GEET...' He held her hand and stopped her.
'Maan..' Geet closed her eyes with a heavy breath and reopen. 'I have told you before and telling you again, you owe me no explanation. You want to be with her, be with her. I don't care. We don't share a normal relationship or bind to the commitment of me being your wife. I were no sign of our marriage, so think as its broken. You are free and always will be, but one thing you can't have is my children.'
'No geet... You are...' Maan nodes his head negatively.
'Yes maan. Not my child. You have no right. You want to do something for mahek, that's fine. You can as a father... But at the same time I am not welcoming any outsider...'
Geet smiled uncomfortably at maan and than at Sam. Leaving irritated maan.
Geet drove off, mahek was in the car, and definitely was not amused to see her dad.
Maan angrily kicked the car wheel. Hating the thought what geet probably thinking.
Sam came and rested her hand on his shoulder to comfort maan.
'Leave me alone Sam!' He snapped and drove off.
