10.Making up

She reached the theatre a bit late than she wanted to coz she was dragging her feet. She didn't feel like watching a movie, to watch someone else's romance when she was missing Maan so desperately. But a promise was a promise and so here she was. She looked around for Annie but instead found 'him'! He was leaning against the counter looking extremely hansome in blue Jeans and white shirt. He was watching the entrance and his slow satisfied smile when he saw her stopped her in her track. He started towards her, even as she walked forward with a subtle lift of her chin.

"Mishty, I..." he began

"Do you have the tickets?"

"Yes, but..."

"Okay, then!" She walked forward towards the screen entrance.

"Simran, listen to me!" He caught her hand to pull her back.

She kept her head down and said softly,"Leave my hand Maan."

"No, look at me!" he commanded.

She raised her head and he saw her eyes shining with unshed tears.

"Simran..." he began again and then sighed, frustrated. "Come, lets go somewhere else. People are staring."

"Exactly! People are staring. But I don't want to go anywhere with you, Maan. I came to watch the movie and I want to watch the movie!"

She removed his hands from hers and walked away again. Maan caught up with her at the door and gave the passes. They had the seats at the rear end.

When the lights dimmed, he tried to hold her hand. She pulled it away to keep it folded in her lap. Discouraged but not defeated, he waited a bit, watching her to see if he cud catch her softening towards him. Simran was looking straight ahead at the screen, trying hard to ignore him. He leaned towards her and whispered in her ear.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be away this long!"

The lips that touched her cheek felt wet and tasted salty.

"Aah! Mishty... forgive me!" he whispered achingly and heard her take a gasping breath as she struggled to control herself. He put his arms around her shoulders and pulled her into him, as much closer as the seats allowed.

"Don't cry, darling! Please don't cry!" he repeated soothingly as he gently ran his hands on her hair. He kissed her forehead tenderly. When her silent sobs subsided, she raised her tear-stained face and said in a teary voice.

"Don't leave me,Maan. Don't ever do that to me. Without you I can't live." Her voice broke as fresh tears glittered in her eyes

"Shhh ...shhh! That is enough, now. Don't cry.i can't bear to see you in tears." He wiped her cheeks with his thumbs, framing her face within his hands. "I won't leave you, ever. I promise."

They sat huddled together in their seats, more aware of each other than what the movie was about. They didn't even notice the whispered comments and the interested glances they were attracting.At the time of intermission, they stood up and walked out, amidst whistles and claps from the audience. An embarrassed Simran tried to make herself invisible by moving closer to Maan, but a happy Maan looked back and smiled in acknowledgment.

phew! they are back together! hope the making up session was up to your expectation...i know this is a rather small update, but i wanted to give you friends something to make up for the time out i'm going to have to take😉...coz wednesday i'm going to kerala to celebrate Easter. will be back only by 26th...so this may be the last update for a while...i will try to post another before going...if not, i hope this maaneet moment made u happy!
