Part 38

Life is not always easy for every one, and who knew it better then Savitri Devi herself, she felt the pain Geet went through, though she herself has never been in such situation as her, but she has had her own set of bad experiences and pain is universal. She also had witnessed pain in Maan's life which she always regrets, never has he ever complained, he was probably the only man in her all male relations who took her word as final, she asked him to join KC, he did in spite of the fact that he wanted to become a computer engineer, she asked him to marry Sameera, he did, though he had no woman in her life then, but had she not asked him, he would have found someone worthy of him, what Vicky said was correct, she must stop deciding for him, let him for once follow his heart, but this time what she choose for him is slowly becoming his choice, but now when Vicky said she had realized that she will not force Maan to mop Dev's misdeeds, and will never disclose that she had taken their signs on that piece of paper.

Today was 20^th , Maan was in a hurry, he had told the main office that he will be out for a fortnight, and that was nothing new for them as in past also he took long routes out; the telephone was buzzing and with Nakul and Geet not being around, the personal phones went unattended most of the times, if the call was important it would be diverted to his cell, after ringing for another 2 times finally one of the house helps took it, and transferred the cal to his line,

M: hello MSK here

Brij: hello ji, Brij here

M: hello, how are you?

B: actually Maa told me that Geet's was due any time soon, so she wanted to come and visit, but that man said Geet is not here, she left with Savitri Devi

M: yes, they left for Canada

B: why?

M: why not? She has to live there, so if the child is born there, it will have Canadian citizen ship by birth

B: oh, then it's ok, BTW when will she come back

M: not soon, may be after 3-4 months

B: Good

M: any thing else

B: no, definitely not, ok ji bye

But Brij did not believe that Geet had left so he came on the same evening to check, and was stopped by the guard

G: who do you want to see?

B: I am Geet's bro; I am here to see her

G: sorry ji, but she is not here

B: where has she gone?

G: Canada

B: when did she leave?

G: let me recall, they went on 5^th

Maan came to Shimla on 21^st and found Geet pacing inside the room

M: hi my 3 beautiful ladies

M: my Angel, you are not counting her, nothing sweet heart just a little more time then they will also count you

M: Geet, relax why are you pacing?

By evening she was restless, and started sweating, Maan was by her side, and was quite nervous, DM monitored her and called the doctor who asked about Geet's condition and told them to bring her in a couple of ours, probably the child will be born in the early morning hours and asked her to feed some olive oil.

It was 4 am and Maan was pacing outside the labor room he can hear her whimpering and DM who also sat there noticed that not once did Geet called out for her Maa as women normally do, but uttered her Baba ji's name, she also called DM and gradually as her pains became unbearable she called out Maan, and Maan on hearing his name from her halted his pace and after few minutes her voice was replaced by a baby's crying. It was 6:30 am the sun was rising and with the rising sun baby was born.

The doctor peeped out and announced, congrats Mr. Khurana it is a Girl, and went in, Maan desperately waited for the baby to be brought out, DM giggled at his condition, he frowned and called Vicky and told him the good news.

After 40 mins the nurse brought the baby and headed to give her to DM but Maan grabbed the bundle of joy; the nurse was surprised rather shocked and then smiled and said "papa" he smiled and nodded in a yes.

Later when Geet was shifted to the room, a male nurse came in

MN: do you want to fill in the birth certificate details now or later

M: now

MN: ok please help fill in this form

M: ask, I will tell

MN: father's name

M (he looked at Geet and she smiled and nodded): Maan Singh Khurana

MN: mother's name

M: Geet

MN wrote Mrs. Geet Maan Singh Khurana

MN: residential address

M told the address of KM

MN: permanent address

M: same as above

MN: phone number

M: 123000000321

MN: Guardian, any 2

M: Savitri Devi Khurana and Vicky Chawla

MN: there relation with the parents

M: my grandmother and my first cousin

MN: none form mother's side

MN: go ahead

DM who was looking at Maan in awe, was expecting him to say Angel but before he could say

G: Meenakshi

MN wrote and asked them to sign the form

Maan was so much taken aback by her choice of name that he did not even bother to check what MN wrote and just and signed, so did Geet, it was DM who checked the form and smile on Geet Maan Singh Khurana written there and was also amused as to why Geet choose Meenakshi as her daughter's name.

the name meenakshi has two letters 4m both maaneets name...M EE N ...m and n 4m maans name and double ee 4m geets name ...joining and jumbling their names together...aksh means symbol if i m not mistaken...
