Chapter Fourteen
(On Our Way Towards Love)
Geet, Ashlesha and Arjun were talking so loud, it almost seemed like a bunch of teenagers sneaking out to go party at night time. "Geet... could you hand me that tissue" said Maan. Geet nodded and she took out a tissue and was about to give it to Maan. He was looking straightahead but he quickly grabbed the tissue not knowing that he grabbed her hand. She was a little surprised but he looked at her and she took her hand away. She blushed and looked to her side quickly. He took the tissue and he grinned to himself and looked straighthead.
Ashlesha nudged Arjun and he looked at their reaction and he was going to laugh so hard. Ashlesha elbowed him in the stomach and he stopped... " Kya hai yaar... Maan ki lovestory shuru honay wali hai aur mein naa hansoon?" whispered Arjun. " Shutup Arjun... you're so mean" said Ashlesha. " Sorry jaan e mann... I thought I'd remind you that is like my younger bro too... not only saala sahab..." said Arjun apologetically. Ashlesha smiled, " Its okay hun... I know you... love youuu".
Geet turned around and she smiled, " You guys are by far the cutest couple ever..." Ashlesha and Arjun laughed, " Thankyouu". " How did you guys meet?" asked Geet. " Ohh! she wants our storyyy! tell em all jaan e mann..." said Arjun dramatically. Ashlesha laughed, " Well... actually... I use to work as a senior doctor in Sanjeevani in Delhi and Arjun was a senior doctor there as well... and Maan at the time was an intern since my chachu meaning Maan's father owned the first Sanjeevani.. and well... I totally was irriated by him... he was flirty and he always made the jokes to make anyone laugh... I was a hard catch and Arjun was trying to woo me for a long time.." " And and Geet...she finally accepted my friendship... and then I asked her out and then.... I asked her to be minee!" said Arjun. " And guess who brought us together?" said Ashlesha. " Tell me naa guys! I want to know" said Geet excitedly.
" Maan" said Arjun and Ashlesha together. Geet was surprised! " NO guys! seriously!!??" said Geet. " Yep..." said Arjun. Geet turned to look at Maan who was still looking straight ahead. Maan didn;t like the attention but Geet was so shocked! " Maan! seriously!!? what when how!?!" said Geet again. Ashlesha and Arjun laughed, " He convinced Ashlesha to marry me because he had known me before and well... Ashlesha being the older sister who loves her baby brother she said yes and he also convinced her and helped her confide her feelings for me too" said Ajrun.
" Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" said Geet." You guys have a cute lovestory... so Maan played Cupid!?!" said Geet again. "Yep" said Ashlesha. Arjun kissed Ashlesha's hand and said, " She became mine." Geet was so happy! "Maybe Maan isn't that bad afterall!" thought Geet as she looked at his serious expression. " How did he become such a khadoos... if he did something so sweet" thought Geet.
Finally they arrived to the carnival and it was an colorful affair. Geet looked around... it was even better than the stalls that she and Maan went to before arriving at Jaipur. Maan turned the car off and he took off his seatbelt. Arjun opened the side doors and helped Ashlesha out of the high jeep. Maan came around to Geet's side and he opened the door.
She looked at him and smiled. He put out his hand to help her out. She took his hands and he helped her out slowly. She jumped down and Maan let go of her hands. Arjun and Ashlesha only laughed at their little moment. Geet looked around and she took Ashlesha's hand and she led her towards a stall. Arjun and Maan walked together while the girls chatted nonstop.
Ashlesha and Geet reached a stall that sold payals. Geet picked each and every payal up and shook it to pick out which one makes more sounds. Ashlesha was also picking out her favorite. Arjun and Maan went towards the stall that the girls were at. Maan looked at Geet who was laughing and having a great time. He only grinned at seeing her so happy. "Arjun... pick one out for mee naa" said Ashlesha. Arjun smiled and went beside her and started to help her out. Geet couldn't decide between hers and she didn't carry her wallet with her.
She frowned and she picked out the silver one that made the most noises out of all of them... but she put it down and started to look at other things. Maan noticed and he was about to say something until Ashlesha led Geet towards the dhaba that they were going to eat at. Maan saw the three go towards the dhaba and he took out his wallet and paid for the payals. As he grabbed them they made a sweet sound and he looked at them and smiled to himself a little bit and put it into his pocket.
He walked over to the dhaba and all of them were sitting down on the long straw beds. He looked around and dusted his seat off and sat beside Geet. " Where were you! we were just going to ask you if you wanted something else besides what we ordered" said Geet. " I was just walking and I;ll eat anything you guys order... its fine" said Maan. Geet nodded and then someone brought the food. Geet gave Maan his thali and he started to eat a little bit. " Ommg! my favoritee.. dal makhni!" said Geet. She began eating and Maan just looked at her. She looked like a little child enjoying icecream.
Maan was picking at his food and Ashlesha noticed, " Maan.. tum theek ho naa?". " Yeah di.. I'm okay" said Maan as he ate. Ashlesha frowned and then Geet said, " Lassi!". Maan looked at her and he rolled his eyes, " Geet.. its not safe". " What do you mean its not safe! I always have lassi's at dhaba's" said Geet. Maan shook his head and he began eating. " Bhaiya jii... zara 4 lassi's la dijiyega" said Geet. Maan's eyes went wide and he said, " Geet!.." " What Geet.. Im not going to drink it all... you all are having some" said Geet." I could use some!" said Arjun. " Mee too.. its been awhile" said Ashlesha. " No thanks" said Maan. Geet rolled her eyes and then someone brought the lassi's. They were tall glasses and Geet took hers and she chugged it down.
Maan watched her chug it down and then he watched his cousin and her husband chug it down. Geet finished hers and she said, "I win". She looked over to Maan's glass and said, " Maan.. you didn't drink yours?". He said, " No thanks..." " Please.. drink itt... itnay shauq se maine order kiya tha... please naa.. drink itt" said Geet. Maan couldn't refuse her... and he put his thali down and began drinking it. " Chug it down!" said Geet. Maan began drinking it even faster and Arjun and Ashlesha were looking at him with surprised eyes. " Wow Geet... tumne ek minute main kar diya jo hum dono paanch saal mein nahi karsake" said Arjun. " Good job GEET!" said Ashlesha. Maan finally drank his and it left a white moustache around his mouth.
Geet looked at him and laughed... " Maan... you have a little something there" Maan tried to wipe around his mouth but he didn't have a napkin. Geet took out a hanky and she started to wipe his mouth and he looked at her a little surprised. She realized what she did and she said, " Sorry". And she gave him the hanky. Arjun and Ash were looking at them with smirks... " Kya baat hai" whispered Arjun. " Shh" said Ash. Geet sat there a little embarassed and Maan just wiped his mouth and he said, " I'll wash it and give it to you". " Nahi.. you can keep it" said Geet trying not to blush too hard. Maan nodded and then said, " You guys want to go further on or go back to camp?". " Explore my dear brother... explore" said Ashlesha. Maan nodded and Geet got up and they all left towards the other attractions.
