Allright. I finally am here to comment on a wonderful story. So yeah. As I was telling I love the title dii. The Devil's Advocate sounds totally yum because I guessed it was Armaan and it turned out exactly the way I thought it would be. I have 2 or 3 stories where the lead has been raped. And all three of them have been written by exceptional writers. But this story is different. To be frank, I hate the stories that show too much sacrifice and too much of cheesiness because in real life, sacrifices that give you satisfaction is what matters. But sacrifice that is of no use to anyone is pointless. And I hate that about triangles. Its not here but the point is I didn't want Ridhima to be the too strong lady who is unaffected and just wants her rapist to be behind bars. And that's why I loved the scenes with showed her drastic and completely torn soul. I honestly had a lump on my throat when I read the dream and then her need to be on sleeping pills. The balance is what I loved a lot because like I said, the strong woman is inspiration but not reality. And had you made Ridhima fall for Armaan at his first sorry, I would have probably left it half way. I like how she hated anything that surrounded Sahil. So it makes things complicated because she cannot forgive someone supporting her rapist ever. Did I mention I love complicated? :) So yeah I love the complications. And in part B I know I cannot expect them to kiss and make love *it would be unreal actually.. maybe an instinctive kiss to satisfy that phangurl part of me* but I can see something brimming. I want to see the tension and if you could write a sequel for their love story because I am guessing the SS ends with the end of the case. It would an interesting read. Another SS will do, I will be cruel if I told you to write an FF with so much in life. So yeah. Do consider because I can see a stiff complicated story ahead. As for Part A in terms of writing, it was perfect. You managed to create the atmosphere of the court session in my tiny bed which is a huge thing. You have got a powerful style of conveying emotions. And its a brilliantly executed plot. I loved the writing as well as the plot *which is rare, mind you :P* Eagerly waiting for Part B.
Till then,
loads of love,
amal.
EDITED : I forgot to talk about the characterization. Actually like I said, each character was in line with the situation. Two worried friends in RM, their protectiveness, the worry in Muskaan, the tension in Rahul..all so amazing. I loved that nothing went overboard. They behaved just the way one expected them to behave.
"Mr Verma, let's get one thing clear." His voice was deadly quiet, and Sahil seemed to be on alert mode at once. "I am not your servant, I'm your lawyer. There is nothing in this world that can stop me from leaving you in the middle of this case, not even your father's God damned money. So let's make life easier for both of us. If I tell you to do something, you do it, when and wherever I say. If I effing tell you to be somewhere at a certain time, make sure you are there at that specific time. If I tell you to call me, then call me. If I tell you to say something, you say it. In short, you go on my orders." Armaan's voice turned more dangerous and deadly than he had ever thought it could. "If I tell you to sit, you sit. If I tell you to run, you run. Walk, you walk. Shut up, you shut up! Don't even breathe.." he paused, letting it sink in as Sahil's eyes widened in terror. "Unless I order you to, otherwise the moment I pack my stuff and resign from this case, there will be nothing, not even your bloody reputation that will stop you from spending a minimum of ten years behind bars. Got that, Mr Verma? Don't f**king think of treating me as your servant boy, or going against me ever again. You need me, not the other way round, do we understand?"
This dialogue had me hyperventilating for minutes. I was imagining the whole scene and KSG saying this in his sexy voice with a black shirt on holy crap here I go again. *faints*
